Here are some issues I've been having with my Atrix:
-touch screen stops working entirely randomly (usually while texting), waiting for several minutes or battery pull is only fix
-random reboot while not even on the phone
-error message while trying to send messages "Phone storage is full, delete files to free space" (something along those lines), reboot necessary to fix even though phone has plenty of free space
These issues are beginning to occur more frequently. Anyone experience these problems/find a solution?
Thanks.

Guys,
I'm pulling my hair out over this. My MDA Vario has often rebooted itself and i've always put it down to a glitch of one form or another, but today it has been rebooting every few minutes.
Each time it reboots a text message i've read reappears as NEW, as though the phone doesn't register me reading it before it crashes and reboots. If I delete this and other messages, within minutes once it's crashed and rebooted they will all return like a CACHED memory or something.
I don't know what to do.
It seems as soon as my screen dims on power save, it won't come back on and within a few seconds the screen goes white as it is rebooting.
Sometimes reading this message or doing anything in the message application causes the crash, sometimes it's happenign even without me doing anything.
HOWEVER - once i've turned off the power saver dimming the screen, no reboot is occuring. I've gone into the messages, read and deleted this message among others, and no reboot. If I manually turn the screen off though, within a few seconds it reboots.
What is going on ?!
i have the same exact problem! I changed the battery the day before yesterday and it has not done it since, but im not sure if it solved the problem as sometimes it does not restart in one whole day!
Hello,
ok, I gave up on moving APPs to external SD on ICS 4.0.3...
Here is my new issue in a nutshell....
I updated to ICS 4.0.3 with no problems and everything worked fine for months. Within the last month, the tablet has developed a random problem, usually 30-90 seconds after it boots, where it may or may not freeze up (i.e. the screen is unresponsive) and I have to turn it oss and reboot and hope it doesn't happen again.
Sometimes this happens one or two times in a row and then its fine, sometimes it will happen five times or more, and then the next boot it is fine, sometimes it works fine on the first boot.
I have removed all kinds of apps and media to make sure I have lots of room and curently have about 5G free. but that didn't fix the issue.
I looked into the GPS txt files being left behind and made sure they are removed regularly, but that doesn't help the issue.
I used a Device Info APP to display what is going on when this happens, and while it doesn't show any APP or process I can see as the culprit, the CPU is being maxed at 100%?
It also seems to have "something" to do with the WiFi, as when it "locks up" the WiFi icon in the tray goes away and when I go to settings it seems stuck trying to turn off the WiFi. But at other times then the WiFi is working fine?!
Also, sometimes if I let it go to sleep for too long, when I wake it up this will happen..
SO... anyone got a clue what this could be?!
So I finally got the notification that I could update my Nexus 4 to Lollipop; I was aware of some issues regarding performance/wifi etc but nothing prepared me for this;
I installed Lollipop last night and left my phone optimising its apps etc overnight. In the morning I had a couple of messages saying the launcher was not responding, I also noticed I had no wifi or mobile data connection.
I restarted and my wifi connected but the phone promptly froze and needed another reboot. After reboot it took a long time for even the 'no signal' triangle to come up and much longer for it to show any service, but still no data connection. Various apps are causing popups asking me to close, wait or report. Normally it won't respond to any of these options. I've not even tried to use most of the apps, such as Google Docs which has come up a few times.
Within a couple of hours all I had managed to do was let Gmail steal my emails and get a quick glance of the 'new look' (which I like).
A bit more careful handling got Spotify running for my drive to work but it froze and needed a reboot after removing the aux lead from the port.
Then it stopped responding and I left it for the day as I was working, when I came back it still said 9am on the screen. I cleared the cache via the recovery boot process, performance has improved but its still freezing and the data/mobile reception is very flaky. In 24hrs I still haven't managed to use the phone for anything except Spotify. Not even loaded a web page. Its probably had 20 restarts today.
Help!
Just done the following and there has been a marginal improvement i.e. I can actually open an app (occasionally) without freezing the phone but its still largely unresponsive and no mobile reception at all.
Go into the developer options as above. There are three options under "Drawing" in Developer Options :
-Window animation scale
-Transition animation scale
-Animator duration scale
Turn all three to 'Animation off'.
then, under the 'Apps' subheading (in developer options still), set Background Process Limit to "at most, 2 processes".
My N4 and N7 have been flying along since I did that.
This is an ongoing, intermittent and devastating problem I have. My phone will be working perfectly fine, then all of a sudden it will randomly reboot. Then it will work for a few minutes or hours, then randomly reboot again. Then for a shorter time and reboot again until the phone basically can't even get through the bootup process without rebooting. It will be essentially bricked for anywhere from 1/2 a day to nearly a week (though it usually manages to get to working for 15 minutes at a time for most of the week. Then, all of a sudden and for no reason I can tell, it will just start working fine again for anywhere from several days to a month. This has been going on for at least 6 months.
It reboots during any manner of activities with the most common being phone calls, texting (I usually use Handcent Next SMS), anything with the keyboard (stock), browsing, swiping on the home screen, etc.. Really anything causes it, including it just sleeping with the screen off. The same problem occurs when in Safe mode, with or without the SD card (using as just extra storage, not phone memory), and with or without the SIM. It doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not. I have noticed what seems to be a greater tendency for rebooting to occur when the battery is low.
I am on T-Mobile (if that matters in any way for OTAs and such) and running the stock ROM without root. I'm about to try a factory reset but that has not been a permanent solution in the past.
so I just did the factory reset and it rebooted during the initial phone info setup (select your language, etc.)... I think it's toast... Does anyone know if this is the sort of thing that can be repaired for <$100 or should I just buy a new phone from ebay?
Hello guys,
you will find a detailed description of the encountered problems in the following lines:
1. DESCRIPTION
As stated above, my phone (randomly and not connected to any situation like hot temperatures etc.) won't load specific apps like WhatsApp, Netflix and my contacts. (While you try to open the application you will see the loading screen/splash screen of that specific app forever.) Furthermore, the phone won't shut down if one is pressing the "Restart-" or "Power-Off-Button". It will stuck at a loading screen (a blue animated circle [-progressbar], that shows the phone is about to shut down), which normally takes less than a second but in this case would take forever. (I've waited at least 5 minutes.)
Like I already said, the stated problem pop's up randomly and that's how it disappears too.
I know one significant (hardware-)change I did before the problem appeared:
I converted an SD-Card (SanDisk Extreme Plus 128 GB microSDXC which can read/write up to 100MB/s of data, that should be enough for the phone to function properly) to an internal storage with the help of the ADB-shell and the commands
Code:
adb shell
adb partition disk <Sd-Card ID> <Percentage>
2. INFERENCES
This worked fine and new apps do moved to the SD-Card, but I noticed that after rebooting, Netflix, WhatsApp and one other application I don't really remember showed an animation that will only be visible when a new app is installed and was never used before. The latter factor implements, that those app-paths somehow changed (maybe external -> internal -> external) and that's how the "new installation" happened. (I'm not really into android development, so please don't mind to tell me that this is complete nonsense. )
2.1 EDIT: After the last shut down and reboot, old emails that I've never read, popped up on my notification screen. (I can't explain this one.)
2.2 EDIT2: As of today, my mobile phone can't identify the SD-Card and throws error messages about my missing SD-Card. Because of that, my storage is full and I can't enter any application except Settings, Chrome and any other browser. I guess that was one of the causes that apps won't load in the last days but the phone kept identifying the SD-Card after a random time period,
this would explain why the problem would also disappear.
3. SOLUTION
I couldn't create a solution (that is working) out of this and that's why I'm here to get help from you guys!
Best regards,
