No problems for me... I do hate how much battery wifi drains for me though.. I thought its supposed to use less battery than 3g, but for me its the other way around

It shouldn't drain too badly. You may need to tweak your wireless networks settings or troubleshoot your phone.

For example when I leave wifi on in the night and the battery is at 100%, when I wake up its going to be something like 75%, and when I check the battery usage it says Wifi has used 40%... isnt that way too much
i'm starting to think alot of x10s are defective, this and the in-call volume. i don't have that volume problem, but i do have this terrible wifi problem, the thing has a mind of its own. if leave the wifi zone it almost never reconnects by itself, i need to go into settings, disable wifi, enable wifi, select the network that it should have connected to already, and click connect. sometimes i just need to turn wifi off then on, on rare occasions, it will connect automatically. i can't find any pattern for what causes it to not connect.
I sound like a broken record by saying this, but it is an android issue compounded with router incompatibilities. Happens on the froyo nexus I have too.

Do you know if there is a list of routers that are compatible with the nexus one or android phones for that matter?

It may be your DNS settings and or your APN settings or you may need to adjust your router settins.
How can I check this ? Router is ok, my Desire HD does not have this issue ....

APN: settings/wireless networks/mobile networks/access point names; (make sure it's enabled) click on it to see settings. Click on my thumbnail, the pic below my stats, to see my APN settings.
I don't know it you're on TMOUS, T-mobile US, but that's what my settings are fore. If you are on another network, search XDA.
DNS: using root explorer; system/build.prop: scroll down until you see the settings like in my thumbnail, and change. Make sure to save changes on both APN and DNS.
I have the same problem with wifi not staying on. Had to turn it off and back on.
I am not using data connection and running wifi in flight mode and still have the issue. Not sure if there is something else going on...

Currently all the kernels having same issue (ASAIK), I pointed this to Hastarin long back and he confirmed this as a bug but not there is no fix yet. I noticed that if your phone is charging then wifi stays on but if it is not charging and not used for a long time (let say 30 min) then wifi will be disconnected automatically
as a work around I am now using wiSyncPlus ($3.99) app which you can schedule to turn the wifi on/off
Thanks,
iDev

It sounds like you mean that wifi will disconnect after a long idle time. That is fine, as long as the phone can reconnect automatically next time it wakes up. My problem is that wifi appears to be connected, but there is no access. DNS and all things are good, and when wifi is first connected, it always worked and fast, but after some time using the phone (not even idling), the wifi connection will become problematic. I might switch to a different router to see if that helps.

When your using your wifi, does it say, "operation timed out"? Mine is doing the same thing. Only happens with cm6, and stock froyo builds. Sense builds it does not.
Any decent solution at the moment with a new ROM or kernel ?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
With my router running DD-WRT, I was able to change one setting:
In Administration menu, change 802.11x to Disable and it seems to resolve the wifi problem for me. As always, check your wifi setting. This is a bug in the Android kernel and surprisingly not fixed yet after a long while...

Someone with the solution for this ?
The solution for me was really quite easy.
Simply instruct your phone's wifi to never sleep. The problem seems to be when it wakes up, it doesn't really wake up. To set to never sleep, try this:
Go to settings, wireless and networks, wifi settings... click on the windows key (menu), select advance, and then click on wifi sleep policy. Select never. Then back out to home screen. Try that and see if it helps. If so, throw some thanks via meter.

[Q] Wifi not working like other devices!

At school we have the wifi password, G2 connects but has limited funtionality... Ipods work fine can even download and browse youtube!. Thought it was and Android issue but friend brought inhis Motorola Xoom and it browsed Youtube flawlessly in 720p and could even access and download apps throught the market! I figured maybe he was just lucky and my G2 was not configured right. But this really puzzled me when another friends brings a Metro PCS (P.O.S.) Android phone in and can download and browse youtube and download as well....
P.S. - When I had G1 Yotube did not work from app but occasinally while my other friend Moto Cliq worked and that ran 1.5 Cupcake while my G1 had 2.1 Eclaire!!!
Are out phone getting old? Not compatible? or is it just time to move on?
Something is definitely not right on your phone. I watch YouTube, download huge files, and everything internet related on WiFi on my Vision. I don't know how you get along without being able to!
You should try a factory reset and if that doesn't fix it take it to the shop and say wifi is not working as it should.
This is only at school though, at home it works fine... but everyone else's work without ease.

So is only youtube giving you issues, or any app that needs internet data?
Just an idea, but go to WiFi settings and try changing the network's security settings. For example, for my university I have to set the following:
EAP method: TTLS
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

I know what you mean. You might have to forget it and then enter that stuff when you connect to it again for the first time. Actually I think those security settings only show up for WPA2 networks, so everything I said may have been irrelevant

Could be router. Try changing channels on the router.
Um, I honestly don't know how to change it dude, can you help me with that?
the colour is only there when your Google account is connected. if it is grey then you are still connected to the internet.

All routers are different. You'll really have to get your users manual and look. Basically, if I remember correctly, just access the admin page for the router. The look in the menu;s.
However, before you do that, have you gone to your Wifi settings, and set your Wifi Sleep Policy to "Never"? Might fix your issue without messing with your router.

Need app to monitor tethered traffic. Details inside.

I'm looking for an app to monitor data usage by any other device tethered to my phone. Basically it is to monitor how much data my son is using either from his phone or when he connects his PlayStation. I would also like to see what I am using from my laptop.
I am aware I can view this from settings on my phone but it lumps all data together. I would like to see each individual device connected at one time while preferably seeing each of those devices current bandwidth draw.
Any recommendations are helpful. Thanks.

Data usage -> scroll to WiFi hotspot. That's how much has been used.
Side note; one feature missing from a lot of ROMs is see connected users and option to kick from network.
