Xperia X8 Custom ROM

Hello!
Here is the list of some Custom ROM's floating in this forum-
Official SE ROM's-
Link 1 (Android 2.1 Build 2.0.2.A.0.24)
Link 2 (Android 2.1 Build 2.1.1.A.0.6)

Unofficial ROM's-

Not possible unless boot loader gets cracked.

Xperia X8 custom ROM
I want to add proxy support for Wi Fi on this phone,
after rooting the phone , it is asking for ip tables on my ROM,
one more thing is the boot loader of Xperia X10 cracked ?

The answer to that would be no.

Im sure people are working on it, but none has succeeded so far as to my knowledge.

Thanks!! Its great to have alternatives roms =) i dont like so much the Original ROM.

erm.. it's 100% percent possible, almost every1 did it, go to google and search for the roms. u need to install xrecover and root explorer 1st

Take look after Ginger 2.3.5, download move to SD card, make sure you have xRecovery installed as well and proceed, but easy for u is to use on YouTube on your computer few movies about install new room ...good luck!

Install the PC Companion, as it also installs all the drivers you need.
And: don´t plug the phone and click root, just click the button without having your X8 connected, then wait until it says "waiting for device" and then plug it.

problems in instalation of busybox and xrecovery
hey guys...... i jst rooted my x8...... but now to get 2.3.3 u need to install busybox and xrecovery.. but when i try to do so... derez a error sayin... dese files cannot be pasted here because dey r read only..... PLZZZZZ HELP:confused

just bought x8 3 days ago n still trying to update my x8 from android 1.6 to 2.1..
the probs is i can't update it.PC companion said at preparation level,"installation error,unable to install or start phone software update components"
can anybody tell me,how to resolve this probs?really need help from others.
since i'm newbie,is it any other way that i can update my android rather than use pc companion which i tried so many times,but it keeps failed.I read all the thread in this forums and there are so many things that i can't understand.about rooting,JIT,and so on..

I'm also newbie(maybe a stupid suggestion) , but do you have phone drivers on your computer ?

Pc Companion should just work. Did you try it on a different computer?

Why don't you try simple update application instead of pc companion.you can download that from http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1294043165/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.1.9.exe .hope this will solve your problem.

yeah,i already downloaded it last night,but do i have to copy n paste all the item into my SDcard?this are the items(amd64 folder,i386 folder,sa101usb,sa101usb86,sa101usb64 is the item driver for x8?)

rooting means different from installing unsigned application. rooting just uncap the protected hardware and full access to user about all the feature and system file.if you want instruction just follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920236

If you don't know what is root - you don't need it.

[Q] Market problem after rooting X8

I explain the problem i encountered .
I have an x8 with Fw. 2.1.1.A.0.6 ,rooted with superoneclick ,xRecovery,and Black Htc theme installed with app2sd support.
I can't download any app from Market, it stuck's on downloading or it says that was an download error.
Could someone help me with this?
Someone of you can give me the Vending.apk for X8 ?!

Thank you but didn't work,tried just now...

first of all try clearing the cache. if you cant do this you may have a version of it that has it disabled. I asked a specialist from SE who came into work today to demo the xperia play prototype

Why do you need Vending.apk? Did you delete it or something?

I see that my market app is old style and i don't understand how is this possible?!
I hope a new install of vending.apk will solve my problem.
I apologise for posting in wrong section of the forum.

[Q] 2.2 floyo 0.15 market problem?!

Hey i just put rachts 2.2 floyo rom on my x8 and its working great!
But The problem is that when i try to update The android market i only says that the program could not be installed? What should i do? Plzz help me!

have to wait for others ppl to reply..im using stock 2.1 se..do know if my market works with 2.2..sory

i am using kyrillos 7.0 rom...i am quite satsfied with it.. But only one problem
How to get back to old android market ?
new market is damn slow

same here ... 7 is awesome .. only hitch is the new market .. thats a piece of crap ... it wud be gr8 if someone comes up with steps of restoration...

true i almost never fire up the market anymore since kyrillos added the new one. the old market place was much faster and imo easyer to navigate thru.

whnever I try to uninstall the new market and install the older one.. it always crashes while entering to 'my app', it has to do something with vending.apk .. but dont know in exact ...

install it over the New market..

download vending.apk from any of the firmware version from the following thread and replace it with root explorer and reboot to get back old market....

after installing the apk the market works like a charm again.

hmmm when i reboot my phone the old market is gone and im back with the new market.
