Not possible unless boot loader gets cracked.

Xperia X8 custom ROM
I want to add proxy support for Wi Fi on this phone,
after rooting the phone , it is asking for ip tables on my ROM,
one more thing is the boot loader of Xperia X10 cracked ?

Im sure people are working on it, but none has succeeded so far as to my knowledge.

Thanks!! Its great to have alternatives roms =) i dont like so much the Original ROM.

erm.. it's 100% percent possible, almost every1 did it, go to google and search for the roms. u need to install xrecover and root explorer 1st

Take look after Ginger 2.3.5, download move to SD card, make sure you have xRecovery installed as well and proceed, but easy for u is to use on YouTube on your computer few movies about install new room ...good luck!

Install the PC Companion, as it also installs all the drivers you need.
And: don´t plug the phone and click root, just click the button without having your X8 connected, then wait until it says "waiting for device" and then plug it.

Hi! I'm new here and was wondering if it's possible to restore my "old" phonebook when i decide to flash my htc hd2 with android 2.3. contacts should be saved on the sim card. Also found this on androidadvices[dot]com htc-hd2-steps-to-install-android-2-3-gingerbread-os Would you guys still recommend to install this rom? Would really appreciate it if you'd help me out here!

You have plenty of options. If you are already on Android then you simply use your gmail account and it will sync your contacts/calender etc.
If youa re on windows I think you can do same thing or use sim as suggested or you can also use a program like SPB’s migration tool.

Have u performed a HARDSPL ?.........First rule to all newbies, we were all once newbies & we know its not easy 2 understand everything all @ once but all u have to do is stick to this golden rules;

You didnt ask a question about flash.
The HD2 is a excellent phone and I love it. I love trying new roms/software and cant really see myself buying a new phone for a long while.

Yes u can restore more than just ur WinMo contacts..Try using the software found here...It should be sufficient.

When u say market, i believe u mean on android...Well there r several ways u can have ur apps backed up..
1. Google does it 4 u automatically...
2. Using softwares like "MyBackup Root/Pro" or "TitaniumBackup"...etc
3. If u've got CWM installed (my favorite)...use it 2 do a full n free backup.
Or are u talking abt d exact location on ur device where the "market" stores downloaded apks?...i'm not sure @ d moment but will browse my fone ltr n see if i can find it.

would someone be so kind and tell me if it's possible to take calls in "imilka's RAM Desire HD v1.0"? And what does it mean with "sense" & "sense-free"? Would really appreciate your answers!

I'm not familiar with "imilka's RAM Desire HD v1.0's ROM, posting a link to the thread should help us answer ur question better...
"Sense/Sense-free" tags simply tells if the particular build has HTC Sense screen layout & widgets bundled in or not.

With the WinMo installed on HD2 I used Active Sync to sync my contacts with Outlook.
Now using an Android-SD-Build i use the HTC-Software "HTC Sync":

Simply after a fresh install of android: i can go to the market and click on "my apps" and reinstall all my apps?

U r welcome and yes i do think its possible to make and receive calls with the above ROM...and its also a HTC Sense build

Well when u first install & run android on ur device, while setting up ur accounts...especially ur gmail acct...well, it asks u if u want ur settings n data backed up to google...accepting it means some of ur phone settings (like remembered wireless networks....etc) and links to apps u've downloaded & installed thru the stock android market all get saved & uploaded 2 google's servers...So d next time u flash say another/d same ROM n while setting up accounts...and u set up d same google acct, ur phone ltr automatically performs a sync (wit internet connection ofcuz)...And things like ur contacts, settings, favorites, and previously installed apps all "magically" (as steve jobs would say) appear in ur programs list...
Summary....wit d option on..wheneva u install an app 4rom d market, android simply remembers the app link, saves it & connects it wit ur email..then when next u flash, it simply re-connects 2 those apps, downloads em and installs...all r done automatically (while sync is on)...Sync takes awhile so u'll have 2 let ur fone settle.

Simple, either on android or WinMo....Just use the built in format option or download n use this sd formatter...Use an external sd card reader or connect ur device as mass storage to format.

[Q]Black Screen (Freeze)

Hi everyone.
I got this phone on my birthday 4 months ago.
Over this time, i did everything but mess around with roms.
I installed xrecovery a few weeks ago.
And now i got this black screen (if you haven't seen it, it's that screen with the Sony Ericsson printed without the green circle).
And I must point out that i forgot to install the PC Companion before that happened.
So, now it's just stuck, idk what to do,I tried the flash mode but it says the driver can't be installed.
Any help,tips?
P.S. Please give me a link with the 2.1 version if possible, i don't know where to get the right one (for the X8)

Hi, DON'T WORRY IT'S ALL RIGHT. EVERYTHING WILL BE OK
Just go to the Se official Website and download X8 Pc driver,
if you can see the white SONY ERICSSON when you boot, everything will be ok.
now, follow these steps.
a. Download x8 PC driver on their official website. Google SE... and you will find that page.
b. Install and open it.
c. Click SUPPORT ZONE, and click UPDATE SERVICE.
d. Click REPAIR PHONE
e. Follow Update Service's giving tips and you will fix it.
The first boot may takes you about five minutes. Don't take down the battery. Or you will be crazy...
You can fix your phone with US without turning on your phone, enjoy

Umm, try re-installing pc companion. Before i tried flashing all this custom stuff on my phone, me, being a curious idiot, played around with the x8 and dicovered SE had already put pc companion in my phone, all i had to do was install it in the autorun menu. Also, try rebooting yr modem. It may be a long shot but hey, you'd never know...

i was browsing a website with aosp (using Cyanogenmod) and as i switch pages to the second page i get this:
Android Warning
mobicorp kind of ad
saying that my samsung galaxy s4 is infected..
now i searched on google and webutation or something and webutation said that is was a clean site. it even is a antivirus for android.
and some people in a forum said that that is a way for antivirus programs to get users. is that true ? does that mean that my phone is not infected ?

Install one antivirus in ur mobile and make a complete scan. If ur phone is infected make a CLEAN installation of ur firmware and is all (wiping it all)

It is a trick to get you to install their app.
You phone is not infected.
Dont install what they are trying to promote.

okey i installed avast at first but it was a paid app so i uninstalled it i did do a app scan first but then i uninstalled it then i found malwarebytes !!! i love that program on my computer didn't know it existed for android. so i installed it and it didn't find anything aswell so i guess im clean thnx guys !

I've got 24.0.B.3.8 is there any difference with yours??

You have just Xpeira E4 Dual thats why it has the B letter!

Any compatible custom recovery like CWM or TWIRP or anything with Xperia E4 ?
