Hey, does anyone here know why the app mvideoplayer isn't working correctly with jt1134's Cyanogen 6.2 Beta port? Like I can't play a whole bunch of videos (mkvs, avis, etc.) I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just something that isn't supported in the port just now. It works fine in Superclean 2.9.2, but that mod drains my battery life TIA!
Edit: Never mind, I just got the free moboplayer from the app store to play videos now (seems to work). Have to use the software decoding option though.

So I have a Hero... and at fist it had bad quality until I found out that the setting could be changed. Now, my problem is that I can only play 1 out of 10 videos I try and play, it sucks... is there anything I can do to fix it and is anyone else having this problem??
yea, alot of videos dont work from the youtube app, even more dont work from youtube via the web browser + going through the browser gives ****ty quality
lets hope htc fix this up in 2.0/2.1 when they release it with the sense ui!

i heard in 2.0 most videos work cause of flash 10?
So I need 2.0?? How do I get it?
Also, is there maybe a differnt app or program that allows me to play youtube videos that isn't the one that comes with the phone? links if any plz.
are you on the stock rom? i'm using modaco's 3.0 and haven't got any problems, either on 3g or wifi.
there might be some media player apps that play streaming videos. on windows mobile, i used to use 'coreplayer' to stream youtube videos, worked well. there's gotta be one or two on android that do this??
btw, where is the setting to change the quality?
android really needs a coreplayer i miss the youtube on that works flawlessly
*EDIT*
maybe i spoke to soon

nice!!! android needs this!
yes.. please.. what to do.. to fix this ??
I dont like.. that we have a youtube app.. that is 1/10 working!
any one.. have ideas ??
I think Youtube are using some Flash10 exclusive coding techniques that our beloved Hero can't handle due to the Hero actually don't have a full blown Flash10 support...
This would make sense, except that before I got the hero I had the mytouch and youtube app worked great with little to no problems (I've tried it on both a stock and rooted rom on both hero and mytouch). I'm having a hard time understanding why the hero has problems with it.
I do find that sometime if I go into a task manager and kill youtube and start it again it works for a bit. It seems also that changing the quality of the video causes it to quit working too.
I must be very lucky every single video i tryed to watch worked fine with stock ROM...
Maybe is connection related...or just pure luck
They should work as if I'm not mistake the youtube player links to the mp4 feed, he may need to update his rom to the latest version which plays smoothly.
I've been using CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta4 for a bit now and really like it. Got flash to work but will not play any of my videos either on stock player or media players from the market. The videos are all mp4s converted from handbrake and they all play on my stock Nexus 1. They're saved to my external SD card. Help?
Thanks
Rick
I believe that cm6.1 is not hardware optimized (yet). Tmk, it's a known issue.
Hi. I'm currently running MIUI 2.1.20 (see link below)
http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?13388-MIUI-us-Kindle-Fire-rom-Updated-2-1-20-0xD34D
One problem for me is that I can play streaming videos from the Net and user-uploaded videos in Facebook, but when they play, the video is all choppy, like how a TV is out of tune with like diagonal lines running through it, so it's pretty much un-viewable. The audio plays fine, and the video plays, just can't really make it out at all. So, this happens when I try to watch videos from web-sites that aren't in YouTube & Netflix (those work fine).
Was wondering if there has been any development regarding a fix for this issue in this build of MIUI?
If not, does anyone know if the 2.2.3 ICS build of MIUI addresses this issue? (see link below) It's not listed as a known issue, but I don't want to assume it's fixed before flashing to it.

I use MX video player for all my videos. You can set it to SW decode and its pretty good about playing all videos without lag.

Right now, the lack of hardware acceleration in the multiple ports of ICS for the Fire prevents HD video playback, and often leaves SD video pretty laggy or choppy. Also, with no native support for Adobe Flash when streaming video, that can degrade the quality as well, if not playing whatsoever. The devs are working to get this resolved, but as it's a really complicated process, it still may be awhile before it's resolved.
I have had some problems with 720p videos rendering on Gingerbread versions for S5, the same videos where playing just fine in FroYo, with this patch i made some of them working again, in HW mode not SW.
Recorded 720p where working just fine without the patch.
-I watch 720p movies using DicePlayer or Stock player, depending if i want subtitles or not.
Make sure to backup your original libOmxVdec.so, in case something goes wrong.
Tested and working on DSC and CM7(DSC Kernel), but i think it should work on all GB roms out there.
I have atached the patch here, you can flash it using Streakmod.
Hope this helps!
P.S. This is not my work, original work/thread can be found here and original flashable zip can be found here.
re
I installed the ZIP.
I have not noticed any change but....
With this MOD, the browser stopped playing embedded flash videos (youtube,vimeo,indavideo...)
I tried lot of browser, but the result is same.
After I restored the original files, the video playing in the browser works again...
I had no problems with flash player embedded, i also watch movies online on my phone, this patch made some videos 720p working, same videos wouldn't open in HW mode using the original lib.
In froyo i could play almost any 720p i would like, in this, not really, but this patch made some videos playable.
I don't think the browser problem was from the lib, but who knows...all i can say is that this is working just fine for me.
For some reason, I can no longer play videos on my Galaxy 10.1 tab. What the heck is going on? They played beautifully before ICS, now they play with sound only.
I was using Dice Player with the plug-in, and they worked fine before. But now they won't work. So I deleted them, and downloaded them again, but they still won't work. So I uninstalled them again, and installed the Mobo player. Same thing -- audio, but no picture.
Is anybody else having this problem? I can't believe it's only my tab. Anybody have a solution? Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem after the update to ICS 4.0.4 the problems started.... this is because developers NO LONGER support the ADOBE Flash Player..!!!
Seems both have had issues, so Adobe stopped Supporting and updating and Google or Samsung or both have disabled its functions in the Update ICS 4.0.4...!!
Solution is to find a working / supporting Video Downloader which gives you the choice to View and Downliad Videos..!!
I am now using "Firefox with Video Downloader and the MXPlayer" works well..!!!!!
Just have to test and choose whichever combination works for you.!
Hope this answers your Q's

I guess I should clarify my original post. I have absolutely no problem playing web-based videos. I have no problems with Youtube, and videos play when I visit websites with flash video. My web-based videos play fine whether I'm using Firefox or the stock Android browser.
On the other hand, I am having problems with my personal video files (MP4, MKV, etc.) that I import into my tab. Prior to the ICS update, the videos played fine using Dice player. And even for a couple of weeks after the ICS update, the videos played, although choppy. After consulting with a Samsung tech person, he advised me to do a hard reset of my tab. That seemed to fix things.
But now, my videos play with audio only, no video. I have installed and reinstalled Dice Player, and Mobo Player, but neither work. This is really bumming me out because watching videos is one of my primary uses for the Galaxy Tab.

OK, I've tried everything, and just now (reluctantly) did a hard reset of my tab. No change; I still can't play most of my video files. All I get is sound, no video.
Does anybody have any idea why my video capability suddenly stopped working? I have checked every setting I could find; I have installed and reinstalled video players; and have even tried recoding some of my videos. They are coded at mp4 with H.264. A week ago, they played flawlessly in my Dice player.
Anybody have any suggestions?
