Hey there, I was wondering if there's any app/tweak for TP2 to make it vibrate AND ring inside my pocket? While on the table I would still want it only to ring WITHOUT vibration I searched TP2 forum and found nothing. However, people brought this up in HD2 forums but no luck so far.
Thanx in advance!
Try something like Gyrator. You can set it up depending on variouse aspects of what your phone is/isn't doing.

Thank you for your reply -Jonny-! Unfortunately, Gyrator doesnt have this kind of function more sadly, it doesnt even let me mess with the proximity or light sensors.. So arent there any more suggestions? anyone?

Hi,
I know you are new on here but a few threads up from yours you would have found this one...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
Take time out to read it and you should find answers to at least some of your problems.
Good luck

The screen is capacitive, so it shouldnt be possible for anything to be pressed in your pocket.

Whilst the screen is capacitive, the material of a pocket may be thin enough to still allow a key press to register.
Also I believe the hard keys would still be available to press and could hang up the call.
I think there is an issue with the keypad becoming active while on a call.
I've used this phone since launch and it's driving me nuts.
One of the main problems is the proximity sensor which should turn off the touch screen during an active call intermittently doesn't work.
I called my wife today and cut her off at least twice because of this bug.
There is a reg tweek to reduce the sensitivity of the screen- you have to google it.
SMS is alos occasionally sticking.
I'm going to start a new thread to ask if 1.61 cure these issues.
Hi all, I absolutely love the HD2. However, I find one really annoying problem about the "auto LCD shut off between dialing and after a call is connected, and this has been really driving me crazy! I'm not sure why no one has mentioned about this, is it because it is my problem of mis-using it or no one has bothered to voice it up?? I apologized if this has been posted but I couldn't find one solution so far.
It is about the auto LCD shut off sensor feature while making a call. My English is not that good, my mother tongue is Chinese, I will try my best to describe the problem written in English. I've tried so many cooked roms, all have the same old frustrating issue. After when I've dialed a number, as most ppl do, I will put the phone near my ear while waiting for the call to get connected. However, in the process while making the call while the phone is near my ear, the LCD will shut off by itself, and when a call is connected, the annoying issue will occur! When a call is connected, the LCD will turn back on by itself even though the phone is still in tack with the ear, as a result, part of our face will make contact on the screen and very often pressing one of the on-screen buttons! Also, it is not only this problem will happen after a call is connected, during a process of calling or during a conversation, if there is a notification prompted out, for example, a sms have been received, or a email has been received or low battery notification, the LCD will always turn back on and make the face accidentally press on one of the on-screen button, this is really annoying, is there a solution to let the sensor shut off the LCD for good until the phone has really get away from the ear and the face???
It's not a problem
It's an advantage
HTC did that to prevent you from touching anything with your ear and you cheek and maybe without this you could end the call accidentally or lunching apps so and so .....
Some people have found that this happens when their screen protector is too close or covering the sensor. Cutting away a small ammount of the screen protector to make sure it doesn't interfere with the sensor seems to be the answer.
Not sure you have read his question correctly - it turns off when he puts it to his head, which he wants, but then it turns back on again when the call connects.
I have the same problem, (incidentally had the same problem with a Diamond and Omnia II with Tachi phone canvas). Only solution was to breifly move it away from your head and back again, which I just got used to.
No idea how to solve it though. Sorry.
[APP] Proximity Sensor for Screen Off v0.2
Maybe you should look for this little app, it could work for you.
I can't post links, so make a search inside xda, there's a topic with that title.....

I have a problem with my HD 2 thats annoying. When i make phone calls, my cheek is constantly touching the screen which makes the phone beep so bad the caller can't hear me. I tried the sensitivity cab and it didn't help. I installed a screen protector and it didn't help. I thought there was a proximity sensor to keep this from happening. I searched and couldn't find a solution. I have to change phones if I'm expecting an important call right now. This is very disappointing for an 850.00 phone.
the phone should go to "sleep" so to speak when you place it to your cheek if your speaking to someone.
Im assuming this doesnt happen for you?
The screen goes dark, but, my cheek still activates it. DiD I miss a setting or something?
i cant say i've notice this problem myself, and ive not made any changed to settings. Sorry i cant be anymore help, im sure theres someone who can shed some light on this
Thanks for trying.
One annoying problem is also having threads whitout a clear title except for "I have some problem"
j/k
If your screen does go off then it means your proximity sensor is working. While it's off it's also unsensitive to the touch.
If instead you hear keypad tones sounds from your cheek contact, it means that it is being activated because you somehow moved your ear away from the sensor, check the display, it should be lit.
Happens to me as well from time to time, I just have to move the phone to my ear better so the sensor goes off and the problem is solved
No cookies for you, grumpy! Hahahaha! I didn't know about the moving thing. I'll try that next call. Thanks.
Took off screen protector, made a call, and purposely pressed my face onto the screen and no presses.....hmmmmm.
I've got a new T-Mo HD2, and I'm having a problem that either after a call (I use BT headset alot) or when an alarm sounds, the HD is active long enough to dial numbers and/or for instance compose a senseless text, meaning the screen can be touched and activate functions during this time. An ideal solution woudl be for the proximity sensor to disable the screen all the time, not just during a call. Fallback woudl be for these functions not to activate a live screen after the phone has been locked. Tried searching, no obvious answer to this one. Thanks in advance.

I use PocketShield. It works like a charm. I never have to worry about the problem you described above.
Here's a link:

Good luck!

Thanks Peter, this looks like what I was asking for, except that it is paid...;-(
I was wondering if there was a free fix, and/or if this was a common problem (seems like it would be). I'll download the demo and see how it goes.
Thanks,
Dave
Hello everyone!
Since flashing my I've settled in quite comfortabley with Artemis Rom. However since flashing I couldn't help but notice I've been hanging up on people accidently. I learned quickly I've lost the in-call slider to lock/hide the on-screen buttons.
I really miss that feature and BSB Tweaks clearly does not restore this feature. Anyone have a clue how to get it back?
Thanks!!
Just asking?
My proximity sensor locks keys while on call, does this new rom take that away?

Good point.. I just checked and yep proximity is working. Must be on those moments where I'm talking and move the phone casually away just enough for the sensor to turn off..

Looks like you're having issues more so with the proximity sensor. Mine seems to be fine but it's times when I'm not paying attention and probably aren't hold the phone properly to my ear and then tap something with my cheek accidently.
Shouldn't happen of course but if ONLY I still had the in-call slider I wouldn't have to worry about it. Are chefs just removing this feature from ROMs? Or is it radio related? I'd love to have this useful feature back.
you're so ignorant... IF the phone is next to the ear it cannot accidentaly turn on the screen... it has to be more than 1-2 cm away from your face... but that you can't touch it...
