I thought 3.0 is only for tablets? I thought 2.4 was going to be the next Phone update.

Well, as we haven't even gotten 2.3 on the captivate yet..it will probably be a while for 3.0..hopefully it doesn't just work on tablets.

Well I heard news that the Nexus and Desire got a port of honeycomb, but they're non functioning atm

Truthfully, I don't think that many developers truly tried to port 2.3 to us. Supercurio got that test demo out, but no one ever put out a legitimate ROM. And if we have to rely on Samsung... Well, lets just get used to having Froyo.

This just in: Cyanogenmod dropping development on CM7 for SGS.
Just kidding, but I couldn't resist. Lol

No it's a work in progress. If it was ready believe me you would know.

I've been using it for less than a day, but no show stoppers if you know what you're doing. phone works, mms/sms work, wifi can cause kernel panics if it falls asleep (just set to never sleep)... you can thank atinm and the cmsgsteam for it, but CM7 is VERY MUCH SO on the way and in progress

also, I already see this as going to be my daily driver at this point. the only "problems" I've seen are listed above (oh and the camera doesn't work quite yet, can't actually snap photos, just FC's on trying... but barcode scanner works)

not to mention the battery life is about 10% an hour on light usage

im hoping for the best and would love a solid release. I wish I knew more so I could help :/

Been my daily for 2 weeks.
If anyone is prepared to do some work the rom is there. Just don't show up and ask how to install Linux, what is terminal etc. You need to be self sufficient, its not a simple cwm flash.

If you make a phone sized AVD from the honeycomb SDK, you get a very functional phone ROM. Looks very similar to gingerbread.

My build will take pictures, you just have to hold down the button and let it focus first. Otherwise, it will FC.

It really doesn't look like CM devs couldn't care less about the SGS.

It's a KB1 2.2 build, I'm not sure what has been changed from V1 to V2, but I just got this thing booted up and that's what it's showing.

Bionix-NextGen-GB.zip ? It just means it has the GB Launcher instead of the Twiz.

Idk, I would assume. I've only had it booted 10 mins or so. I'm still restoring apps.
It has a customized launcher... I haven't used V1 nextgen yet, so I'm not sure if it's a custom TW launcher or the GB launcher. I use Zeam so it'll get removed anyway.
Pulled a 1500 quad right into bootup. I'm setting up my apps, tossing in Bullet, and seeing what this thing screams at.

Yea, the launcher is TW4, animations are kinda cool, but I have them disabled.
The new swype they put in didn't work for me. The gingerbread KB is included, which I do use.
It's not themed, stock 2.2 look with the TW4 launcher.
It's really smooth and responsive ...looks like it's running a stock voodoo kernel.

Hey, XDA, been awhile and I had gotten some request for this. I finally have it in a condition that I think is worthy of a beta release. The major parts are finished, it's now just a matter of adding visuals and ironing out any bugs that may come up.

v0.2 update
Hey XDA, Happy New Year!
My first post of the new year, here's another update which includes more visuals for the "cell" as well as one additional for the backing. I'm still heavily working on the visuals for the backing so expect more to come.
It's also still a bit buggy with freeze ups. If you have access to logcat I'd very much appreciate some logs when it freezes it. I try to do as much exception handling as possible to avoid FCs. I managed to get the RAM usage down considerably but that is also one of the causes for freeze ups occasionally.
Other things I can think of include a color change of the stage and backing, I darkened it to make the visuals more visible.
I'm very interested in anyone who has ICS on their phone as I think they changed or broke the side scrolling so I may have to look into that.

i tried this QR code using red laser and it takes me to the DL but this the dl always says failed right away.. ive logged into my account on here on my phones browser so that shouldnt be it..

What is it suppose to do? I have it set as a live wallpaper but its not doing anything when I play music from my player.

I'm not sure why the download is failing for you. The QR code is auto-generated so it should work fine. Have you tried downloading to your computer and just transferring it over?

He means that even in portrait orientation it looks like it was made for landscape orientation (black space above and below).

i use Aokp and i have a little lag with multiprocess for example...messagge and music...would be nice to make perfect fluidity!!! since it is one of the most important things....

ICS is pretty fluid in itself, i can't and won't make promises for my ROM to be buttery smooth.
While my ROM runs better than CM9 at the moment, it is still far from perfect.

I think the music player of Ics (Apollo) really does suck
if you can change it because if I use a player in the market does not work the widjet in lockscreen

Might be added on a later date and will definetly be just an optional addon for the ROM, since not everybody likes it.

yep like the paranoid roms... only the paranoid rom we have on x10 hasnt got a working tablet statusbar hehe would be great to have one with notifications there

ICS on LB won't be possible. If Sony by some miracle would update the X10 to ICS, it would be fairly easy though.

I will have a look on those. Though i think i won't be doing them, since i have asked a friend of mine, to help with my music's app equalizer.
He's an experienced amateur musician, and has a pretty good feel for it.

Well my Job as a Dev takes much time. I have the advantage that i'm a developer ifself, though i can do some stuff at work, but in general its very time consuming to even finish my regular work, and that why my Rom will take quite some time, to be finished.
And yes i want to release a Rom with all bugs fixed, and improve it from there.
Working on Hotspot and Camera at the moment. And to be honest i'm quite pleased with myself.
Made quite the progress, even when i bricked one of my X10's. It can be rescued though.. at least i hope so.
On another note, i've recently asked to join AOKP development.
I'll try to get some of my fixes into there. And some will be released in public too. So waiting for some results won't be too far away.

This is a flashable file through cwm recovery.. just flash it and you all get jelly bean animations including status bar scroll will be enabled when our phone is locked

Agreed with this - the SIM PIN lock problem and FPS cap are currently the only things stopping me from using an ICS ROM. Would be awesome if these could be fixed, better still of the camera gets going

You'll need a kernel as well, contact someone with experience for a kernel because it's pretty much what you need, as for resizing the ROM as well

I know you need an ION intergrated kernel for Sense 5.0 to run. Dev xxxPachaxxx is currently working on it.
Also i'm talking with other devs on how to resize some app - and framework files.
Please some respect sir?

Last test it was booting up the kernel, but bootlooping. Waiting for ION kernel, pacha said that he will compile it tomorrow and sent it to me, i think more testing tomorrow
