Question regarding Epic's Spec's

I was running Quadrant Standard app to benchmark my Epic 4G and have some insight on what it can do and how good can it do it.
While checking the specs of the phone, the app reports that the Epic 4G has an ARM v7 processor rev 2 (v7l) @ 800 Mhz (capable of 1GHz)... $amsung says that we have a Cortex v8 Hummingbird processor @ 1Ghz so the question is what do we really have and how fast is it really going???
I see data for other phones like the I9000 Galaxy S and it clearly states that it has a Cortex v8 Hummingbird processor @ 1Ghz. Did we get ripped off? or does the app just not read the specs of the phone right?

[INFO] Standard benchmarks straight out of the box.

See attached..... run them just now on my new transformer eeepad

Lets hope this is a starting point, as soon as I can get root I will run again. With overclocking. Waiting on Paul's release from modaco

Okay few questions.
1. Why the hell does the iPad 2 score over a 170 in linpack
2. Why is the stock transformer scoring more than stock xoom in linpack and Quadrant?

The Ipad score seems high to me too, the only difference i can come up with the Ipad 2 is its DDR2 memory is clocked at 1033mhz
As for the Tegra 2 Processor, the DDR2 memory is clocked at 133mhz
Plus we dont really know the bus speed of the Apple A5 or Tegra 2
I know the Tegra 2 has GPUs that come in 300 or 333 Mhz which could affect the quanrant score, also the speed of the nand could affect quadrant
Who knows
What comparisons can we make between A5 and Tegra 2 processors?
One hypothesis was that the A5 may have NEON enabled, while Tegra2 doesn't.
According to Anandtech, Qualcomm's dual core offerings should have NEON support, and it impacts Linpack performance:
The Scorpion’s VFPv3 FPU is fully pipelined. As a result, floating point performance is much improved. Qualcomm also implements support for NEON, but with a wider 128-bit datapath (compared to 64-bit in the A8 and A9). As a result, Qualcomm should have much higher VFP and NEON performance than the Cortex A8 (we see a good example of this in our Linpack performance results).

Perhaps benchmarking Linpack on the HTC Sensation & Evo3D will shed some light on this.

I think I will run the tests again with the class 2 micro sd taken out.... will post back later after work.

I now have root, modaco custom rom, clockwork mod, and ive done anotherquadrant...
2986... setcpu just goes up to 1000, so need yo get some customer frequencies and voltages, time to build a setcpu txt file i think.......
Lets see if we can make it any faster.

Is it a standard kernel?

Acer Iconia A500 Full Benchmark Test

Iconia Tab A500 scored 1895 in the Benchmark test, see pics below.
stock i was getting 2100s also this need to be moved to general area no dev area.
i get well over 2300
I'd like to see how it stacks up against other HC tablets...
I got 2187 with CPU Tuner set to "performance"
i bought "set cpu" for 1.99 and set custom lowest 927 mhz highest 1ghz
This belongs in the general section -> has nothing to do with Dev
How do you guys get such high scores? On Engadget's review they state that they got 2200 - 2300 on Quadrant, however on my Tab I get around 1900 every time like the OP... Also on Linpack I get 37Gflops, Engadget say the Tab breaks 42Gflops... Is there a dual core optimized version of Quadrant and Linpack?
How many apps do u have.
also when they run benchmarks they normally kill all the tasked with advanced task killer before running.
I do a fresh reboot with all task killed, run them both get between 2100-2300 usually then about 43-45 teraflops
This has to be MegaFLOPS ya?? i mean TeraFLOPS a bit high expected from a RISC SOC isnt it? and by the way we need overclocked kernal for A500 I see Xoom hit 65 MFLOPS with 1.5GHz clock speed!
i rot 42,3 megaflops in linpack andere between 2200 - 2300 in quadrant...
i got 2400+ on Quadrant
Whatever I do I never get over 1930..
Do you have a live wallpaper on?
In quadrant, I normally get just under 2000 the first run, then if i run it a 2nd time my scores are between 2000 - 2300, just as mentioned.
Yea, it would be nice for a kernel hack, to speed up the a500 if needed. Its not a must for me, as battery times plays more of a factor.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
I got 2282.
CPU:7139 Mem:2484 I/O:1034 2D:86 3D:665
I just got 2339 on mine. Only had quadrant and avg antivirus thingy running.
2653 CPU 8627 mem 2512 I/O 1396 2d 87 3d 642
My £200 advent vega tab is well faster than my Iconia in both quadrant and smartbench 2011,#
Just one more reason to get this thing unlocked so we can get it over-clocked.

Nice bench resaults, can't wait for mine to arrive.
Here's my quadrant, this thing overclocks without breaking a sweat. Samsung definitely hand picked the processors for these Notes.

What are you using to Overclock mate and what settings do you have it at ?
Check his sig. AbyssNote kernel @ 1.6GHz.
The app isn't important. Use SetCPU or No-Frills.

Benchmark of overclocked Note 10.1

Did someone with the note 10.1 and 4.2.1 overclock the Note to 1.6 - 1.7 Ghz and do a Glbenchmark?
What result you get on your device??
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glbenchmark.glbenchmark25
The best benchmark out there.
If you look at their BATTERY benchmark top 5, there is our Note 10.1 at n.2, in front of the Ipad 3:
http://glbenchmark.com/
i did but it wouldn't upload.
Will do it again in a bit,
the ma5 build will run at 1.7ghz @1.35v btw but that's a bit high.

That's very good.
Can you post your results?
Strange behavior at 1.7ghz?
