I have tried many 2.2's on the spica and i want to flash it to this version of the original firmware - I570EXXJH1
I have downloaded this from samfirmwares and after opening it i t contained 2 files, a eSER.tar file and a SS_DL.dll.
Also it said that the New .ops file is required is required, but the link does not work.
I also have odin 4.03 with some ops file in it,don't know wether it's old or new.
1.can anyone post the link to the New .ops file.
2.So what all should i select in odin ?
Guys, any one ? i Badly need the new ops file and the procedure as the phone is very unstable...
I would use the Samdroid forum, they should be able to help.
I have a Spica and it verty stable (and fast) using CM 8.3.2 and Yonip V12 kernel.

1. You need spica_jc3.ops- here is the correct one (if it downloads as .ops.txt just remove .txt)
2.Firmware file should be named i5700XXJH1.tar or in a similar manner.
SS_DL.dll must remain in the same directory where .tar firmware is located
a) put the phone to download mode and connect USB cable
b)start Odin and see if the phone is found- in top left field you should se COM port number. If there isn't- check in Device Manager if drivers are correctly installed
c) load spica_jc3.ops as OPS file and firmware as One Package file
d) select OnePackage option, leave other options as they are- Reset Timer, Protect Ops and Reset Timer (300) should be selected by default
e) click Start button, don't touch the phone and PC, sti back and wait
f) when flashing is done phone will reboot, you can safely unplug USB and close Odin

Acer Neotouch
I have an Acer Neotouch and i would like to put Android OS on it. Now it has windows mobile 6.5 installed. Do you think that with this image it will be possible to do that?
Anyone have any success opening this bin file?
I tried converting the bin file to an iso, I tried creating a .cue file and using Daemon Tools, etc. Nothing I am trying is working.
Someone that is more knowledgeable about manipulating bin files please open it up and copy the extracted files into a .zip
Thanks! Shane
While trying to use an ISO converter I received the following error messages:
10:22:45 - Checking source image: C:\Users\Shane\Desktop\ACER_A1_0.029.03_EN\ACER_A1_0.029.03_EN_1930829086b441ed9606df778a27d862.bin...
10:23:34 - Error: cannot find ISO_9660 signature
10:23:34 - Error: This is not a valid CD/DVD image
I have tried to open the .bin file with some specific programs but no succees. Something is wrong with that file.
lol guys...you are trying to convert bin to iso...it's not a dvd or a game? bin files can upgrade you phone only with acer update tool. Read more before you might screw your phone's
also... heres's the flasher only file... so you dont have to download 70mb... but only 1.5mb

posted link out of date!!!!!
I have used this for JPU/JPX firmwares and various 2.2 firmwares.
Before doing ANY upgrades make sure you can get into recovery mode and you have backed up anything you want to keep (I suggest Titanium Backup)
Needed:
1) Oidin 1.3 - http://www.multiupload.com/4JLU4QHUV7
2) Pit 512 (Others are for 2.1 I think) - http://www.multiupload.com/I5WICSBFJ1
3) Firmware File - http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
(All links are from samfirmwares.com)
Things to check:
Does your download have 1 or 3 files?
Make sure you extract your files and they are either "tar" or "md5" files. "rar" files will need to be extracted before you can use them.
If it has 1 file then:
- Open Oidin Click "PDA" Select your file.
- DO NOT select re-partition and DO NOT use pit.
- Click Start
If it has 3 files then:
- Open Oidin
- Click PDA and select PDA File
- Click Phone and Select MODEM File
- Click CSC and Select CSC File
(The Files will have Phone/Modem/CSC in the file name)
- Click PIT and select 512.pit file
- Tick "Re-Partition"
- Click Start
Notes:
On every flash I ALWAYS "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition" and "format internal sd-card" in Recovery Mode.
This is a personal preference, but I like the "New Phone" feel
To do this I:
- Flash the phone with Oidin
- Wait till it boots up fully the first time.
- Remove The Battery
- Hold Power/Home/Volume Up and reinsert battery
- As soon as the yellow text appears let go of all keys
- Use Volume Up/Down to move, Home to select
If you get a "E:Can't mount dev\block\st110" error when flashing JPX I had to flash the 3 file JPU first, boot once then flash JPX again and that fixed my problem.
Nice post. Been my method too and phone works perfectly
These are the steps explaining you how to create a custom firmware based on the SmartQ firmware releases.
Warning : Creating a firmware and changing the files may cause your device to stop working, I won't be held responsible for any damage caused by this.
Creating a firmware file is actually very easy, not much is involved and nothing more than some basic software is required to create the files. If you don't understand the steps below than maybe you shouldn't fiddle around with this and wait for other members to create these.
There is nothing explained here about the flashing itself, as I will create a seperate How-To about that with pictures explaining the steps of the recovery.
Also there is nothing explained about kernel building itself, I have no clue how to do that and I'll leave that up to SmartQ.
Use the instructions below to make your own Firmware file with the software you want in it and make all configuration changes you want.
1. If you haven't already download the latest official firmware from SmartQ.
2. Extract the zip file. You then have 2 files, a Chinese .txt file with the release notes. And a file called "SmartQT15".
3. Rename the file "SmartQT15" to "SmartQT15.zip". Accept any warning about making the file useless, as in fact you are making it useful.
4. Extract the zip file. Then you end up with 4 new folders :
"boot" - This will be the files required for booting the OS. And possibly the recovery.
"data" - The user apps and data are in this folder.
"META-INF" - The certificate SmartQ used is in this folder and also the update script that manages the update process.
"system" - The actual Android OS.Stay clear of the boot folder, unless you are 100% sure about what you are doing, this may cause a bricked device without the possibility to reflash.
Add apps to the app subfolder in the data folder. Make sure if you do add apps to set the permissions in the update script file and make changes accordingly. The data-extra.tar file is extracted during the update process.
In the "META-INF\com\google\android" folder you can find the updater-script file, you can edit this with Notepad++. This file tells the CWM based recovery what to do and in this file the permissions are set for apps. Also is it required to edit this if you want to create a pre-rooted firmware.
Be carefull what to change in the system folder it can cause your OS not to boot, but it should be no problem to revert back to another build that did work previously as you didn't touch the boot folder and the recovery should work normally.
Once you have made all the changes you wanted to do. You follow the steps back.
5. zip the 4 folders backup using Winzip or WinRAR, whatever suits you best (You can use compression, I tried out Fast, Normal, Good compression in WinRAR and the firmware flashed without problems). Make sure you have the 4 folders in the "root" of your zip file. Use for filename "SmartQT15.zip"
6. Rename the "SmartQT15.zip" file to "SmartQT15" and accept any warning again about changing the extension of your file.
You have now created a flashable firmware file for the SmartQ Ten3 T15.
Copy his file to the root of an empty microSD card and follow my How-To about flashing Custom Firmwares.
Don't use the guide to flash original SmartQ firmwares as this won't work, by changing the firmware package you break the firmware signature and the recovery will check for this during flashing.
Signature checking can be disabled though in the recovery as I will explain in the new How-To.
If you have any questions feel free to post below and I'll do my best to answer them, all the above is based on my experience and from what I could find out on the Internet.
Hoping I could get this finally resolved with a little bit of help. I'm running a Kit Kat Rom (Mahdi Rom) and trying to revert back to Stock 4.2.2.
I've tried countless scenarios and i keep getting 2 problems. The First is:
When im in R&D Test Tool and run Normal Upgrade test and "Upgrade Start". I cannot select a language to select it's blank.
After i proceed i get the following problem " i get stuck on 49% and it starts all over again" it wont pass that state
I've tried both of these methods and ran all files as Admin
How to flash ROM:
The Files are Hosted on my server for fast speeds!

This is a Development section not a Q&A section. There's another section for this.
Hello everyone ! I hope you're all doing all right
I make a third post about my issues (and probably yours for those who have the same phone) on reinstalling the original firmware of my Crosscall Trekker M1.
My situation had evolved since the time I started making researchs on that phone.
For now I have the original Firmware and the method to install it.
There are the links of my 2 previous topics on that subject if you want to learn more :
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/apply-update-sdcard-failed-rooted-t3676453
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/crosscall-trekker-m1-how-to-reinstall-t3691514
(For thoses who want to have it, here's the link of the firmware)
HTML:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zpz2p0b75rlw1pl/LU652R%28HS-L635%29_L1185.6.02.00.EU00_MultiDownload_201601292005_user.tar.gz?dl=0
So it appears that I can reinstall the stock rom as an uptade with a sdcard by going on the Emergency Mode
(When the phone is power down : press volume buttons + & - and power button to go on the emergency mode)
The firmware at first is compress on a .tar.gz format.
When I extract the archive with 7zip, I got a i635.v1 file
I'm suppose to put it on the root of the sdcard to perform the installation.
So I formatted my sdcard and put the file on the root.
I put the sd card on the phone
Unfortunately for me when I start the phone on Emergency mode I have an error message:
No update file on TFcard
There are somes pictures that I took during that operation so you can see step by step :
My 32gb sd card just formatted
The contain of the ROM
Here you can see the extension of the i635.v1
Here you can see the ROM archive before I extracted it
This is when I launch the device on Recovery mode (by pressing Vol - and Power buttons)
This is what the Recovery mode looks like
The Rom appear on the Recovery mode
This is what appear when I launch the device on Emergency mode
And this is the error that I have
On an other tutorial who explain how to install the ROM with an sdcard,
I saw that the extension of the unzipped archive should be i635.v1.bin
Link of the tutorial mentionned
HTML:
http://forum.gsmdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=8728
I started to think that my problem for now is the format of the ROM.
Maybe I need to convert it on .bin
Am I wrong ? Does someone got any more clues ?
I'll stay alert on the post and during the time I'll have an answer I wich you a nice day ! :good:
