Acer Neotouch
I have an Acer Neotouch and i would like to put Android OS on it. Now it has windows mobile 6.5 installed. Do you think that with this image it will be possible to do that?
Anyone have any success opening this bin file?
I tried converting the bin file to an iso, I tried creating a .cue file and using Daemon Tools, etc. Nothing I am trying is working.
Someone that is more knowledgeable about manipulating bin files please open it up and copy the extracted files into a .zip
Thanks! Shane
While trying to use an ISO converter I received the following error messages:

10:23:34 - Error: cannot find ISO_9660 signature

I have tried to open the .bin file with some specific programs but no succees. Something is wrong with that file.
lol guys...you are trying to convert bin to iso...it's not a dvd or a game? bin files can upgrade you phone only with acer update tool. Read more before you might screw your phone's
also... heres's the flasher only file... so you dont have to download 70mb... but only 1.5mb

When setting up to nvflash my G-Tablet to recover from an install problem, I couldn't flash because my computer couldn't find the driver to install that would let my Windows 7 64-bit PC talk to my G-Tablet. Turns out that the file set I was using for nvflash did not have the drivers in it.
Per Roebeet's sticky thread I went to:
http://db.tt/Wm25t7U
and downloaded the Windows files:
nvflash_gtablet_2010110500.zip
nvflash_windows_20100500.zip
The second file with "windows" in the middle has the nvflash program in it and also has an Android USB .inf file listed in it. After working with it, however, I found that it does not have the drivers to go with the .inf file. So I searched all over Nvidia's site and everywhere else looking for USB drivers.
Then I remembered that I had downloaded a copy of Advent Vega's USB files while researching one day. I extracted it and put it in my NVFlash folder and tried flashing again.
When I connected my tablet to the PC, the PC immediately tried to load a driver -- but since it didn't know where my files were it failed. I then went to Start/Control Panel/Device Manager and found APX listed in the devices with a yellow "!" (exclamation point) on the icon. I then selected the APX item and found the "Update Driver" button and clicked it. When it ask where to search, I took the local computer manual selection choice and told it to Browse.
I then pointed Browse (and the USB install) at the "USB" directory under "SystemUSB" in my NVFLash folder. (The SystemUSB folder actually has a "Flash USB driver" folder under it with the "USB" folder under it.) I suppose when you extract from the original you could just put the "USB" folder in the NVFlash directory.
When pointed at the "USB" directory, the driver installed and I was ready to nvflash.
I did this myself successfully. I have read posts from two other folks who also have used this successfully. So I believe it works fine.
But, of course, I urge you use caution and can't promise something could go wrong. (Disclaimer complete.)
The USB driver download is at:
http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/
Find the "Downloads" tab in the middle of the page and click on "USB System Driver" to get the files.
I hope this helps.

I also posted the files in one of the nvflash related threads here.. if you have the msi you can do this:
msiexec /a %1 /qb TARGETDIR=%~d1NVtemp
move "%~d1\NVtemp\PFiles\NVIDIA Corporation\%~n1\usbpcdriver" %~d1usbpcdriver
thats a batch file.. and it extracts the msi without installing.. into <drive>\NVtemp\
%1 = file name
%~n1 = file name without extension
%~d1 = drive of file name
windows will fill in the blanks if you drag and drop the msi file onto the batch file you create.
fyi latest is tegra_ventana_froyo_20110207.msi .. well technically it is tegra_ventana_gb_20110222.msi - but they both have 01/31/2011 driver inf and 06/24/2010 dll files - so... not that new
this is the apx drivers rar'd up. from tegra_ventana_froyo_20110207.msi

having to load the whole SDK to get to them:

I hope he doesn't mind my moving the link over here since I have been trying to get
this info together where people having trouble can find it. Thanks to him for the info.

I posted it here first.. but no prob.. those drivers worked right away.. make sure to point to the inf file and not the subdirs AMD64/i386.. as they only contain dll files
Blades,
hmmm. I would have swore your edit was not there when I wrote my post. Certainly you can see that there would be no reason to re-post otherwise!!! Your edit was way before my post
unless there's something weird with the time stamp. Or maybe my tired old head is just working weirder than usual today.
Either way, your work is appreciated and you should get the credit for it. Thanks,
Main thing for me is that I am trying to solve the problem that people didn't have the needed USB drivers. Now we have multiple sources.

All,
Otreblada posted the following message in a thread over in General. Since it provides a download source for the NVFlash stuff we are talking about, I have copied it over here.
His work, not mine. It contains the nvflash file, image files and USB subdirectory needed to nvflash your tablet back to stock. I have not used it. He says it works fine.
"Get this zip from mediafire.Instructions inside zip file. It does work I created this zip after struggling for almost 1 hr trying to flash back stock rom."

EDIT: Since this post I have found a post by CyHawk which has a direct link to the nVidia Android SDK:
http://developer.download.nvidia.com/tegra/files/android_tegra_froyo_20101105.msi
If you download and install this it looks like it includes the nvflash stuff in the "windows" files listed above --
and more importantly it has a folder in it called "usbpcdriver" which contains the same files as the Advent
Vega download above. I have not used the nVidia SDK stuff, though, so I can't vouch for it.

When you unzip those 2 nvflash zip files do they containany zip files within them? When icicles I see abunch of files and a zip file.
isu205,
I don't remember any .zip files. The "nvflash" file does start off with an .inf file, but that is the USB .inf file that does not have the drivers with it (which is one of our problems.
If you:
1. Download the Advent Vega USB files
2. Down load and extract the two .zip files roebeet suggested.
Then put those files in a NVFlash subdirectory -- your are ready to nvflash.
That's all you will need to restore to the older bekit stock version.
(I think if you download the otreblada file it has the above already in it.)
Rev
P. S. -- You can find, download and install the nvidia SDK, and it will give you
the same files plus more -- but it also adds some complexity.
You pays your money and takes your choice!!!
EDIT: I double-checked and the answer is NO. No zip files I could find.
I'm a linux guy but do have a Win 7 Starter netbook. A while back I installed everything (sdk and USB driver)? necessary to grab screenshots using adb and ddms or QtADB and everything works well.
Anyway, does this mean all I need on the netbook is:
nvflash_gtablet_2010110500.zip
nvflash_windows_20100500.zip
to get nvflash up and running?
joe2262,
Yes, I think you should be good to go as you have described. Once you install the
USB drivers, or once ADB is installed in the SDK with its drivers -- the drivers stay in
the system and are activated when you connect the tab and PC.
And actually, I've never done it this way, but if you have the SDK you should have
the nvflash_windows-20100500 installed. All you would need is the .img files from
nvflash_gtablet_2010110500.zip (and the ngflash_gtablet.bat file which runs the flash
which is in the other .zip file).

I have tried many 2.2's on the spica and i want to flash it to this version of the original firmware - I570EXXJH1
I have downloaded this from samfirmwares and after opening it i t contained 2 files, a eSER.tar file and a SS_DL.dll.
Also it said that the New .ops file is required is required, but the link does not work.
I also have odin 4.03 with some ops file in it,don't know wether it's old or new.
1.can anyone post the link to the New .ops file.
2.So what all should i select in odin ?
Guys, any one ? i Badly need the new ops file and the procedure as the phone is very unstable...
I would use the Samdroid forum, they should be able to help.
I have a Spica and it verty stable (and fast) using CM 8.3.2 and Yonip V12 kernel.

1. You need spica_jc3.ops- here is the correct one (if it downloads as .ops.txt just remove .txt)
2.Firmware file should be named i5700XXJH1.tar or in a similar manner.
SS_DL.dll must remain in the same directory where .tar firmware is located
a) put the phone to download mode and connect USB cable
b)start Odin and see if the phone is found- in top left field you should se COM port number. If there isn't- check in Device Manager if drivers are correctly installed
c) load spica_jc3.ops as OPS file and firmware as One Package file
d) select OnePackage option, leave other options as they are- Reset Timer, Protect Ops and Reset Timer (300) should be selected by default
e) click Start button, don't touch the phone and PC, sti back and wait
f) when flashing is done phone will reboot, you can safely unplug USB and close Odin
For those that need the Acer Update Decrypt Tool.
Unzip contents.
Select encrypted zip
Select Start
Decrypted file will have the same name, but includes the word "decrypted"
the decryption key ($12) doesn't seem to be working anymore
Have tried it a coupla times. Seems the key has been changed.

The decrypter tool has been the same for a long time. The keys haven't changed. $12. And has worked till a couple of weeks ago.
Depends on what you are decrypting. If it's the files we have here in the Dev forum, it works.
If you try it on files elsewhere, it may not work. It probably will not work on A51x or 70x update files. Nobody has tried.
Definately won't work on Asus updates
MD
Absolutely nothing wrong with the decrypter. You have to wait a few minutes depending on PC. Has to decrypt 400mb remember.

Sounds like you're trying to run it from within the zip file itself? Helps to know the full error message.
Try unzipping it to your C:\ drive. Then run it again.
It's a small app, and basically you will get a button to select the file (zips only), then select Start. After a couple minutes, it will write the decrypted file in the same folder as the original (says decrypted at the end of the file name).

Thanks a lot for your quick help.
This is a fault of may anti virus that prevents to run the tool.
Just turn it off and I can run the tool.
Thank you,

Antivirus block download
Hi!
I'm trying to download the tool to decrypt the zip files but my antivirus (a business version of Trend Micro that i can't disable) block the download.
Is it possible to rename or change the extension to avoid this issue?
thank you
no solutions?
Hello everyone ! I hope you're all doing all right
I make a third post about my issues (and probably yours for those who have the same phone) on reinstalling the original firmware of my Crosscall Trekker M1.
My situation had evolved since the time I started making researchs on that phone.
For now I have the original Firmware and the method to install it.
There are the links of my 2 previous topics on that subject if you want to learn more :
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/apply-update-sdcard-failed-rooted-t3676453
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/crosscall-trekker-m1-how-to-reinstall-t3691514
(For thoses who want to have it, here's the link of the firmware)
HTML:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zpz2p0b75rlw1pl/LU652R%28HS-L635%29_L1185.6.02.00.EU00_MultiDownload_201601292005_user.tar.gz?dl=0
So it appears that I can reinstall the stock rom as an uptade with a sdcard by going on the Emergency Mode
(When the phone is power down : press volume buttons + & - and power button to go on the emergency mode)
The firmware at first is compress on a .tar.gz format.
When I extract the archive with 7zip, I got a i635.v1 file
I'm suppose to put it on the root of the sdcard to perform the installation.
So I formatted my sdcard and put the file on the root.
I put the sd card on the phone
Unfortunately for me when I start the phone on Emergency mode I have an error message:
No update file on TFcard
There are somes pictures that I took during that operation so you can see step by step :
My 32gb sd card just formatted
The contain of the ROM
Here you can see the extension of the i635.v1
Here you can see the ROM archive before I extracted it
This is when I launch the device on Recovery mode (by pressing Vol - and Power buttons)
This is what the Recovery mode looks like
The Rom appear on the Recovery mode
This is what appear when I launch the device on Emergency mode
And this is the error that I have
On an other tutorial who explain how to install the ROM with an sdcard,
I saw that the extension of the unzipped archive should be i635.v1.bin
Link of the tutorial mentionned
HTML:
http://forum.gsmdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=8728
I started to think that my problem for now is the format of the ROM.
Maybe I need to convert it on .bin
Am I wrong ? Does someone got any more clues ?
I'll stay alert on the post and during the time I'll have an answer I wich you a nice day ! :good:

Dud, the best tool and the best way is from this thread only https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/development/nokia-6-official-firmware-mena-region-t3664441
Try it care fully and u will done successfully,
The only advice i want to give u is, open ur directory, c:/program files x86/OST and replace the online update tool from there and delete the config file,
AND REMEMBER THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT,
open online update tool from ur directory only, from c:/program files x86/OST only, donot start it from any shortcut created on desktop or from start menu, just start it from its original directory,
if it still gives error about microsoft error warning, try fresh replacing ur online update tool again from the zip
And start the program from there only, once it successfully started
Click next, then choose the firmware mena, that is
PLE-3320-0-00WW-A02.nb0 file and put ur phone into bootloader, click next button, now the first time u may stuck on flashing splash file and ur phone could restarted
Follo the same steps again
Start the tool again
The tool will surely give u error for Microsoft.net
Dont panic
Close it and replace the file again
Remember no matter if replace the file before error, it will give error for one time surely
Replace it again with online updating tool and the start it from the directory
Now Click next, then choose the firmware mena, that is
PLE-3320-0-00WW-A02.nb0 file and put ur phone into bootloader
Now connect it and click next this time your phone will get flashed successfully...if it give error again, then try one more time u will be successfully installed the mena firmware
After that u can go here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-oreo-follow-steps-t3723776
and can install oreo manually
Press thanks button if u find this useful
