The decrypter tool has been the same for a long time. The keys haven't changed. $12. And has worked till a couple of weeks ago.
Depends on what you are decrypting. If it's the files we have here in the Dev forum, it works.
If you try it on files elsewhere, it may not work. It probably will not work on A51x or 70x update files. Nobody has tried.
Definately won't work on Asus updates
MD

Absolutely nothing wrong with the decrypter. You have to wait a few minutes depending on PC. Has to decrypt 400mb remember.

Sounds like you're trying to run it from within the zip file itself? Helps to know the full error message.
Try unzipping it to your C:\ drive. Then run it again.
It's a small app, and basically you will get a button to select the file (zips only), then select Start. After a couple minutes, it will write the decrypted file in the same folder as the original (says decrypted at the end of the file name).

This is a fault of may anti virus that prevents to run the tool.
Just turn it off and I can run the tool.

FixFlash – ROM Flash Verify and Repair Tool *MUST use utility IMO*

This was featured on the XDA Homepage a few days ago, but the developer just confirmed that it should work for any flashable zip, and *should* work on any phone.
Thought I would give the heads up here.
Could fix random Force Closes/Bootloops that people get even when they had wiped multiple times before flashing a new ROM.
Original Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765989
Edit: See post 3 in this thread for my results.
This should save a few headaches, but I think most issues are caused with people not wiping....this wont be able to fix that.
Well, I finally put this utility to the test and here are my results.
Wiped Data/Cache/Dalvik, flashed BakedSnack 1.6 and immediately ran FixFlash. Here's my output:
Code:
E:\aEVO\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb shell sh /sdcard/FixFlash.sh
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *

Say your rom is BakedSnack1.6.zip, extract the contents to a folder called BakedSnack1.6 and place that folder on the root of your sdcard.
Make sense? Not sure how else to explain it.

Hey,
Did you extracted the installation file out of the downloaded zip file?
Inside the downloaded file there is a archive file again (forgot what format), this file you have to extract out and copy that file onto your archos
Good luck!

Yes , thats the thing I did , file named UrukDroid-install.tgz copied to the device like it written in the installation procedure ....no need to unzip that one also
Try to download this file:
http://sauron.pourix.com/UrukDroid/UrukDroid-1.0/EI/UrukDroid-install.tgz
It is directly and no need to extract any more.. maybe your archive manager does something wrong..

Then flash the kernel again, like you did it before (via the recovery menu)
After try the installation with the as single file downloaded installation file

Lenn, this is different , another problem ...after flashing the kernel with the "let's say " new files , what is going fast then going into the developer menu ..archos needs to reboot in that menu and I should get UrukDroid 1.0 Installation framework and select simple installation ..but does not get to that boot ....the original archos kernel completely starts up .
Let me know tomorrow ....we need some sleep being busy with this whole day
I wanted to thank you for the given support for now ..hope someone will know the answer

[Q] Nexus 7 ar install help

To avoid filling the forum with question i'm just going to create this thread and ask all my questions here.
I finally rooted my nexus 7 on my mac and now am hoping to install a USB ROM, i couldnt post a link but it seems to be most popular for in car installs.
I downloaded the file and compressed it to a .zip file then tossed it onto the android. Next i booted into clockwork recovery the selected install zip from sd card>Choose zip from sd card> 0/>cm-10.zip>yes - install cm-10.zip
After this the tablet says
Finding update package...
opening update package...
installing update...
installation aborted...
Can anyone help me and/or tell me what i'm doing wrong? all help is appreciated. Thankyou

A more acceptable procedure is to find - via SEARCHING - closely related threads first, and post your questions in those threads. That demonstrates to people that you've actually tried to help yourself by searching. If you actually have something unique to say, in that circumstance you start a new thread.
"Help me install a ROM" is not a new idea here on XDA, whether you have a problem with it or not.

It's already a .zip file to begin with when you download it. Is your Mac uncompressing it automatically when you download it?
If so, use something other means (not Safari?) to download it. FTP. Wget. Firefox for Mac.
Then, if the ROM developer publishes rom file MD5 signatures, validate that you can compute the same checksum on the file downloaded to your computer.
If you then subsequently copy it to something else (such as the tablet), check the file length and/or the MD5 signature of the copied file as well.
Was there not some additional message on the screen besides "installation aborted"? Details are important.
The most probable guess at the moment (from your narrative) is that you borked the download and/or did something else that made the custom recovery unhappy.
BTW, when you install a new ROM for the first time, you generally:
(a) make a full Nandroid backup first (using the custom recovery)
(b) perform a "factory reset" in the custom recovery,
(c) flash of the ROM file.
Attempting the last step without the first two is just begging for trouble.
good luck

I also cannot open the system.img.ext4 file with ext4 unpacker. ( it crashes after working for 15 minutes), is there another solution?

I've done this numerous times, tried renaming it and all, I swear I did this the exact same way a few weeks ago and it worked no problem. Ext2Explorer doesn't do anything and the ext4 Unpacker freezes and always makes me force close it now. I'm using Windows 8.1 but I also tried this by mounting in Linux and I get an error as well, "wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0," etc... So I'm not sure what happened I've downloaded the firmware from 2 different sources and from one of the sources I downloaded it from 4 different mirrors totaling 5 different downloads so there is no way my files are corrupt it won't work with ANY of them. I'm honestly so confused I don't even know where to look anymore so here I am posting along with the last few people that seem to share my pain. Hopefully someone can help us.
This is the firmware I'm using download and try it out for me pretty please let me know if your system has any issues?

Change to system.tar.gz then extract
Open system.img.ext4 in windows easily with 2 tools!
First download this 2 tools
1. linux reader
2.jar file
http://www.diskinternals.com/download/ (linux reader)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=645192&d=1309768531
DOne 50 %:good:
Step 1)
Download Diskinternals Linux reader and open it up.
Step 2)
Download sgs2ext4.jar and open it up.
Step 3)
Take you system.img and move it into the sgs2ext4.jar application and wait until it is done.
Step 4)
Now you should get a system.img.ext4 file or something like that just make sure ext4/ext is in the name
Step 5)
Now in Diskinternals click on Drives –> mount image, now a window will pop-up, leave the box on RAW disk image and click next, now search for the system.img ext4 file and choose it.
Step 6)
Now you see a new drive which looks like this: Linux EXT Volume 1 (Number can be different) Open the drive and click on commands and then select all.
Step 7)
Now do Ctrl+S to save the files where you want them, i suggest you to make a folder on you desktop called system and save it there.
Good Luck !

I'm not sure is the firmware in zip format or zip64 format, but while repairing the firmware it detect as zip64, don't know. Maybe the firmware is brocken, damage, cause trying to extract many times. Anyway thanks for help.
Maybe the file is corrupt.Changing compression method won't help. You can't repair an archive.Just download it again.
