i'm ready to donate 20 euro's for anyone who can unlock my xperia x10i this week (KPN-NETHERLANDS)
I got my phone now and cannot use my simcard with data (no flat-free on kpn), so i'm kinda bored now using only wifi on that.

rooting is to get full access on the phone directory, simlock is just what the name says.

got an email from him today that my code is still "in process". When it's completely unlocked i'll post it in this thread, because maybe they also can't unlock. (this is the third one i'm trying, but this one says that it can be done so i have faith )

the hardware should be same.
but the software is different, it has a simlock by NTT
And the power-up image also replaced by NTT

im from sweden and i want to know which framework should i download ..?

I have unlocked my SO-01B using unlock code from different site. But I had to 'Debranding' first, otherwise I could not get the screen to enter unlock code.

xperia x8 multitouch

Anyone knows if x8 can support multitouch. Is it hardware limitation or just software stupidity of SE?

While I was reading x10 news about multitouch, the article basically said the phone developers themselves had to "hack" the phone and enable it via software.
Basically if I understood it correctly from the article, the hardware is flagged as "non supportive", while it can be enabled via software.
That above ^ makes no sense, so I'd just say it's a software issue.

Excuse me for being upfront, but you'll have to change your slogan in that mini "campaign"
The whole intention of them not updating software is most likely to just force you to buy new versions of mobile phones you already have ( x10 -> arc, x8 -> some new phone that'll come in 2011 ).
So it's all the same for them if you stick to your x8 for example, as the only thing they're attempting to do here is to force you to buy a new mobile phone - if you don't succumb to it, they don't give a flying **** cause you'll be stuck on a outdated, non-updating platform, and it's in your best interest to get off it if you're at least a bit of a tech savvy individual.
Also, people who stick with Sony Ericsson brand since their first phone ( such as myself, from old Ericsson t20e 'till newest x8 ), is their main market. No matter how bad service is, I won't change my mobile phone brand, as it's something I've gotten used to ever since I was 8 ( 13 years later, still using the same brand ), and same goes for many many users out there who don't need tech stuff like most of us here on xda want.
At least that's my point of view on it.
Sad really, but heh :\ Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread, and I signed up on facebook for the 2.2 support.

@refract : I dont know.I think I will never buy a SE again if they dont publish new updates like 2.2+ for SE X8 because for exp : If I buy a new SE mobile next year,maybe will there again no updates for it -.-

Next phones will have better updates schedule.

As stated in the title I've got a SE Xperia Arc here. It's obvious you guys want the software on this thing. I can dump it, if someone can provide instructions. I am familiar with ADB, command line usage etc.
This has to be quick as I have to bring this baby back tommorow

How is the Phone?

copy everything in your internal storage(/system etc.) of arc to your computer

would it not have had the drivers in the source though that may have been portable over to the X10 2.3.2 J&Z implementation

Sorry about stating you guys could have the sofware, it's my job at stake if I'd share with you guys I'll see if I can cook something up with this.
The phone's fine, much better than X10i. It's the best SE & Android combo I've used. The new UI really looks cool and is smooth as silk. Build quality isn't that great, too much plastic for my taste. This one packs Android 2.3.2 and is atleast as fast as my Nexus S running stock. An excellent upgrade from X1. I'd love to give you guys some in-depth review with photos but unfortunately I'm in bit of a rush.

i don't have it the OP does not want to share the ROM because he would risk his job. Totally reasonable imo.

Don't know if devs would be able to port or not, but why not wait for next month when phone's launched instead of asking the man to risk his job for something we could be getting in a month's time?

Best thing that you can do is dump the system. You can do this by issuing this command:
adb pull /system
once the device is USB Debugging Mode. This will really give us something to work with.

I would imagine that this would only be possible by using the kernel of 2.1 (the way that devs been using to port 2.2 and 2.3) as I don't think that SE would sign the certificate of arc with the same signature they signed the x10 so the only benefit of this is to get hold of SE add ons compared to 2.3 that j already ported
I would like to join the developers team at some point as I might have something to add, but I need to finish school in May as having 6 courses keeps my hands full...until then good luck to these guys for their impressive job and specially their dedication

I think so, thats why Sony has such a good bootloader protection. They want you to buy the new one instead of pimping your X10. In the end Sony wil fail this, I'ts a mather of time. It does keep the noobs away.

[Q] About PS3 Jailbreak

I'm sorry if i post this in the wrong section of X8 subforum. Because i don't exactly know where i should post this.

i can assume that if it works for another device with same controller as our X8, it would also work with our X8. You know that X8 is using Qualcomm MSM7220, and in the list, it is completed. So can X8 be used for jailbreaking PS3? Or maybe the Jailbreak script was device spesific?
I'm using nobodyAtall's miniCM 1.0.0-RC1 custom ROM (many thanks to him and all xda-devs here).
And also if it cannot work on X8's ROM, could it work on HTC Legend-ported ROM? like racht's Gingerbread CM7?

... I think that jailbreack has also to do with the hardware, is it was only software thing, there would have been made a pendrive version of it too. You should contact with the app developer in order to learn if there is a hardare limitation.

as i read on the website, the required thing is the controller, and it says that our MSM7220 can do the jailbreak. but, when i read HTC Legend and Hero, it says that, the jailbreaking needs the phone's bootloader to be unlocked before we can proceed. So i think the first step to jailbreaking with X8 is to unlock the bootloader.
but my question is, there is an app on the market called PS3 Brew Pro, the app said that it can jailbreak directly without recovery. thats why i confused, is it for real?

[MOD] Bravia Engine 2 and other tweaks (Z/ZL)

I know people have lost their BE 2 after unlocking the bootloader.... So, I want you all to know about an app called Pimp My Rom ( by Androguide.fr) which has a lot of MOD's in it including the Bravia Engine 2 and I believe (not tried it yet) it can help in getting the BE 2 back. Just wanted to share this discovery!!!

Could you give a basis as to why it will kill the phone?? Like I said I don't know if it works as I haven't unlocked my phone yet... But if you can get me a good basis then I would delete the thread!!
ALSO, many users of Xperia S, SL and U reported it working... Read the thread if you dont blv me

Pimp my rom is an open apk for all phones.
It enables it on cm9 10 etc.

As i see the App puts some Tweaks to the build.prop , chose the wrong Tweak and you're end up in a boot loop. Other then that you won't break the phone.

In any case, @OP.... the reason for the BE to stop working, unless I am sorely mistaken, is because your DRM keys get completely wiped out when the BL is unlocked. As such, simple build.prop tweaks (which is all that PMR does) likely will not re-enable it.

It is not the Bravia 2 engine, it is an application that is simulating the effects of Bravia 2 engine, therefore most likely only increasing sharpness and saturation.
Echo what is previously stated here, an application will not brick your phone

BE2 isnt all crack up to be IMO in dark movies it completely hide all detail and some video it completely over sharpen the picture and make it some what noisy

Can confirm this ... As a novice...Rooted Handset - Messed around with pimpmyrom - and ended up with a endless boot loop had to re-flash with flash tool.

Man this would be great if BE2 worked some way..i just dont wanna unlock my bootloader without BE2..I take screenshot of Wallapapers with BE2 and then set it as wallpaper..It looks so much livelier and colors pop on my XZ

But i want colorful wallpapers where BE2 helps XZ..Home screen doesnt have it..At least you can turn it off in videos if u want more details. But for homescreen wallpapers it is a must for XZ.
