rooting is to get full access on the phone directory, simlock is just what the name says.

got an email from him today that my code is still "in process". When it's completely unlocked i'll post it in this thread, because maybe they also can't unlock. (this is the third one i'm trying, but this one says that it can be done so i have faith )

the hardware should be same.
but the software is different, it has a simlock by NTT
And the power-up image also replaced by NTT

I have unlocked my SO-01B using unlock code from different site. But I had to 'Debranding' first, otherwise I could not get the screen to enter unlock code.

I'm afraid that's impossible with current technology that the XDA-Dev folks have at their disposal at the moment. The XDA Exec is protected by SIM-Lock super-encryption that is a subset of the Shankar-Takata-Bologna algorithm. It's simply not possible to crack that encryption without (and this is my estimate) a dozen IBM super-computers containing a minimum of 8 IBM Cell processors EACH working away night and day for about 27 and a half years. Also, they have to be running in tandem with a dozen other super-computers that are invariably connected to each other via a Distributed Computing initiative. Then and only then, perhaps, we may have a 4% chance of success.
In other words, just forget it man, it's simply impossible to unlock the XDA Exec. No one in the world, including the famous Buzz Lightyear and mamaich of the BA WM5-port fame, can do it.

I don't quite understand the "debrand" problem you were moaning about. Just go to settings->today and choose another theme other than orange and you are almost there. Install the original HTC dialer(there are plenty cabs floating about if you care enough to do a little search) and that's me all sorted.

i just tried at least 3 times. As i told u one month ago i debranded my italian phone with the same trick. Worked perfectly, but the orange i think its different...

I only tried with TMN (Portugal) because that's the Operator my Dual is in. Apparently it works with Vodafone in other countries.
Maybe Orange has a different system.
But if you change ROM all that will go away =] just try to live with it for a few more days.

I had the same - Orange Touch 3G, awful rom, did HSPL and now everything is ok mate

When we had X10 there was no bootloader unlocking now the bootloader unlocking is here and I don't have arc. Always, always there is something that SE lacking. Sometimes they are short in supplies but good service and sometimes there are bunch of phone floating around but no service.
Where the heck is the LT15a SE?

do what i did
run sdk with admin
update it
change that file which is on the site
and move
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
AdbWinApi.dll
from the platform tools folder to the tools folder
and the rest is easy
Did you run the unlock??? did it wipe the phone?
What do you get left with?
Are you using r10 of the SDK? and did you find the usb driver folder here...

It did a factory reset I ran it again and it said I was already unlocked

And you update that
Then move those 2 files
Then with command promp do the rest.

Can't post in the Development part of the forum so guess here is good enough.
Have a Three branded phone which I just flashed with the available debranded firmware and my arc still just boots up when I hold menu and plug in the USB cable D:.

i'm new in droid world, so what can we do after we unlock it? can we install video codec by ourselves? so the stock video can play mkv and avi file with hard decode
Just unlocking doesn't do anything special for the user. But if there are new roms it will better.
For forecast there are video players in the market that do play all video formats

it seems that many people are getting the bootloader unlock key for x10 but nothing works after that... the phone is not detected by fastbot!!

I had to jump through Hoops to get this Phone!! im looking for DEVs to work on reverse engineering this software from the phone so that we can unlock the bootloader so that this phone can work on all GSM network. ANY qualified or interested DEVs please contact me so we can work on this i was able to back up the software which is working on all network. This is a Urgent Project need serious DEVs ONLY thanks guys!!
I'm willing to work with you on this as well. I have this device as well, but I don't think we could get this one unlocked that easily...

i have one of the phone which is working perfect on all GSM network its the same model with unlock bootloader. theres no way to create a exploit from this one to flash to the others to either A: unlock the full GSM capability or B: bypass bootloader? btw i backup the rom from this phone but the other phones wont allow me to write anything to it

The Exploiter was close but he disappear on me he said he manage to.unlock bootloader. Hope he's good he's been missing for awhile. I'm still in need of a serious solution!!! Thanks again folks!

Maybe the BL can be unlocked using I2C, but I'm not all that knowledgeable about I2C.

I am not dev, but i see te video and he flash a rom with rsd lite. So I search the name file and find one that have the same release date. I search in google as "harpia_vzw-user 6.0.1 mpi24.241-2.35-1 17 17". I dont know if he modificate this one. The web page is bbs ixmoe and the upload date is July 12th
