Hi all,
I have a XDA 2 which works almost perfectly, the gprs settings connect me to the internet and ms messener. I have a small piece of vpn softwate that allows me to connect to my work network and use the intranet there using netfront/pie. I have an IM application that resorts to using the default network option (i think) when the application is started it disconnect gprs and my work vpn and then attempts to connect using the MMS O2 gprs setting and no amount of fiddling with the xda 2 can fix this, my IM app does not have a select adapter option.
Does anyone know where this is stored so that it can be deleted completely? I have found the settings in mms composer but I am unable to delete it?
It does nto show up in the standard network settings either.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks andi
Hello! I have a problem with WLAN. I couldn't find where to set up my proxy and port settings for WLAN. If I go to the start > settings > conections I can't set up a wireless network, just 3g, bluetooth etc. (but there are settings for proxy), but if I go to start > settings > network cards and then tap Add new there are just options that i need exept those two. Help me please!
P.S. I have WM5 and Qtek 9000 (HTC Unversal)
OK, after about 10 minute trying, I finally get it done.
When you select one AP name in Wi-Fi setting,it will ask which profile will the connection connects to.( I use Chinese version, I guess it will be "Default Internet" and "Default Company" ).The two connection is the two you select in setting->connection->connection->advance tab, the upper is "Internet" the lower is "Company", and you can make a new profile here using the "New" button, here you will find proxy setting and enter some proxy , because you are just using this profile in wi-fi ,so the "moderm" can be left blank.
When you have done the setting, you can turn on Wi-Fi, browse some web site, in taskMgr(additional application I installed) you will find the ppc has establish a tcp connection to the proxy server you set up.

Settings - Wireless & Network - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names
You probably need to create a new APN in there for your network

Click to collapse
Some cases only choose one - so good luck those APN settings can you typically find at you Telefon service provider .
Hi all.
Just a question about configuring APN and mobile network settings to allow MMS but not data transfer.
Currently I have a 3 APNs. 1 for WAP, 1 for internet and 1 for MMS, these are automatically configured. The ones for WAP and internet are selectable, thus I can set either one to default. The MMS one is not. In order to prevent applications from constantly accessing the mobile network, I have disabled "Data enabled" in mobile network settings. Unfortunately, this also prevents me from sending and receiving MMSs. When I enable it, I see traffic on the mobile network even when there's no incomming or outgoing MMSs. My question is this: Is there any way of having MMS functionality while having data access disabled?
Running Cyanogenmod 6, 2nd nightly build for HTC Legend. Don't know if this makes a difference.
Cheers.
Hi,
My service operator is not same as my network operator I must manually configure GPRS/MMS settings to my mobile. A guess my operator is called like "virtual operators" or "service operators" and they don't have own network.
I was wondering that could some one know are GPRS / MMS settings for different operators inside the firmware. Or how device can have settings automatically (depending of operator). I mean that if I use SIM card from my network operator settings are automatically, but not for my own subscription which is from virtual operator.
If these settings are in firmware I should be able to modify these settings. My target is that when I reset my mobile I can have my own operator settings automatically.
Does someone know the facts for this.
