I'm confused-did you create a ROM for LG Optimus Chic, or LG GT540 Optimus?

Using AOSP and the source from Optimus Chic I've created a ROM for my GT540. but it is not ready for public release, yet.

Can you tell me from which tutorial you made it please? Me and my brother are trying to build 2.3.3 for our GT540, but we aren't familiar with that. We got the 2.3.3 source though.

I love my modded 2.1 Rom
Root + Overclock + Link2SD -> perfect!

EleganceSwift is a modded 2.1, right? So, it's the last choice.

Well i liked elegance swift a lot, but i missed all the awesome gingerbread and cyanogenmod features... so i am back to swiftdroid again but it's nice to know that there is an alternative to 2.2 and 2.3

Hmm, did you manage to get all features working? Care to share?

We haven't even made the first build, but if everything goes according to plan, the first release will be out soon.

I like SwiftDroid. Doesn't tested joestone yet, because it has more bugs, later probably I could switch to his clean aosp. OpenSwift is useless here I think if we have newer build with more features working. Good times for CM6 gone away since SwiftDroid released. Still didn't tested Quarx 2.1 custom rom with probability for OC it to 900MHz and see best results in benchmarks but 2.1 isn't that recent for now.
If you see mistakes in language, sorry, but I don't use translator and still learning english

OpenSwift has bluetooth but no FM. Swiftdroid has FM but no bluetooth. It's all a matter of priority. The performance boost from 2.2 to 2.3 is not that significant.

I tested tried 2.1+ ROMs, and I liked the most Joestone's ROM. It is the fastest and most smooth. I hope Joe will continue his work

Im using quarx 2.1 black with quarz kernel. Should I change?

[Q] anyone working on a gingerbread rom for mytouch 4g?

so since the 2.3 sdk was released today just wondering if anyone is starting on building a rom for the mytouch. maybe even with a few tweaks like adding the overclock to 1.7.
As far as I know the SDK is usually never enough to build a stable rom.
Considering that we don't even have a stable froyo rom yet, I think gingerbread is quite a ways away.

[Q] Which custom GT540 Rom is most stable & Fast

Hi all,
I'm using the GT540 stock 1.6 version and want to upgrade.
Please comment which ROM is the most fast and stable.
Also pls. provide the steps of the upgrade.
The newest is good

In my opinion - LittleBrother (Froyo-Android 2.2). To install it:
1. Install 2.1 without fastboot by KDZ.
2. Install 2.1 with fastboot by KDZ.
3. Download SDK and drivers and install LittleBrother by fastboot with this commands:
fastboot -w
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Is this ROM already over clock?
I verify the link there are 2 kinds of ROM, fastboot and recovery.
What's the difference?
the best rom in my opinion would be cyangenmod 7.1.0 m5 by Mur4ik very fast and very stable
First get it to stock 2.1. xD
Then, let's talk about custom ROMs.
Most of the custom ROMs are pretty fast and stable but I'd highly recommend that you check out 2.1 from LG first. The 2.1 on GT540 is one of the fastest and most responsive ports.
just go this website h**p://swiftdroid.comlu.com/the websites theme's got a problem but they have every thing u need ROMS, kdz, apps and tutorials
change the * to t
The CM7 SwiftDroid (v2.0 M6) by Mur4ik is fast and stable but the in-call speaker sound volume is just to low for me, barely unheard in a meeting room.
That's why I choose Joestone's Clean Android 2.3.2 AOSP, it's also very fast.
Hmmm is there like anything better about swiftdroid (2.3.3)then clean android (2.3.2) I would like to find out before updating from swiftdroid m5 to m6

Not a lot really. Both are in development ROMs.
Swiftdroid is based on CM7. It's basically a hacked/modified ROM that is meant to bring the best out of the phone. Joe's Gingerbread is AOSP. It's purely based on Android 2.3.2 by Google.
Swiftdroid has all features working except Flash Lite, Hardware based video decoding and Exchange/EMail. It's pretty stable but not as stable stock 2.1
Joe's Gingerbread is also very stable and fast. Not as fast as swiftdroid. It has Exchange but Voice input and Flash Lite doesn't seem to be working.
I'd prefer Joe's Gingerbread over Swiftdroid since I prefer AOSP than the hacked up CM builds. However, am using Swiftdroid since it supports voice input.
Until both the ROMs reach a stage where all the stock features work well or where development has stopped completely, you can't really chose one over the another. Even after that, it's all a matter of personal preference.
if you are looking for stability try to stay on 2.1 roms based on LG kernel ... they are fast and hardware .avi works
mikegapinski
the problem with the stock 2.1 is that it's by far the most stable (it is stock after all), but 2.1 is slower than 2.2/2.3

I know, and that is why I ask about Froyo ROMs..
Well, if you just want a stock looking, fast ROM, then go for AOSP, but if you want more themes, and other mods then go for Utopia.
I'm staying on Utopia.. and I will make MIUI theme for it when I get my phone back..

Oops! I completely forgot my signature. As I'm always between ROMs! Thanks for pointing out!!
HAHAHAA
Utopia was my favorite until the RC3 version came out. I had a lot of trouble trying to make Link2SD work (I experimented with different versions of Busybox and finally I got it to recognize the second partition) but today I had another problem with WiFi, which suddenly stopped seeing my WPA2 home network. I had to go back to my previous version, where everything works...
I'm really intrigued about Utopia. I've read that it's fast yet it doesn't eat up battery like other roms. I'm just wondering how do I upgrade to that. I currently have stock eclair and somewhat of a noob when it comes to rom upgrading. Thanks

[Q] question about new custom roms

hi, i want some help with it!
actually i have cyanogenmod gingerbread 2.3.7 with kernel 2.6.29 , by mur4ik
but now i have heard that he is not making or working on it anymore and there are another guys making new things with 2.3.7 for example the swiftdroid second life, or the custom rom made by pete and his friend.
i wanted to know if these ones are better versions than the one i have, or if they are behind it, and if those two are newer and better versions, wich one would you recommend for lg gt 540?,
and another thing, they talk a lot about kernels, really the mur4ik rom i installed was like a package so i really didn't even care about it
but now that are talking about it and wanted to know what is it , and why is better one or another
i heard some of the guys want to puto a .31 kernel instead a .29 and things like that, and well, i really don't know it so well
help with that please, thanks!
Well for kernels look it up on Google a bit too long to explain it here.
For l android 2.1 the best kernel to be used is .29 kernel for 2.2 it would be the .32 kernel and for 2.3 and 4.0(ics) it would be the .35/.38 or 3.0 kernel
As for roms you are using swiftdroid so keep it or then next best thing would be any 2.2 rom I recommend project Utopia but if I where you I will wait for Mike's asop 2.3.7 v6 to come out
I sure am waiting for V6 mike's rom.
For the looks of it i am waiting for mike´s rom V6 it should be fast and stable, just hoping he releases it ASAP....
try Pebe 2.3.7 v5.1 rom, im using it and its quite good!
Yes, the last pcf cm7 (.32) is very good. The only thing that it ends with the battery much faster than for example in pcf aosp 2.2.2 (.32)
Froyo optimum is great too
Amazing battery life and so smooth

Utopia 1.0 is good daily rom based on android 2.2 with excellent battery life and stability but it's not good for gaming. Application compatibility is lower than SDSL which is based on android 2.3 and SDSL supports theme choser themes which makes it more customizable. So basically SDSL is better for gaming and for people who needs more customization or want to use certain applications that requires android 2.3. Utopia 1.0 is better if you're looking for stable rom for daily use.
The rom I used for the longest period was PCFighter's V5 with supercharger and and loopy smoothness script. It was the better I've ever tried, stable and fast. Now I'm on ICS, and while I find it faster than GB, I think still isn't enough stable for everyday use if your friend simply wants a phone that work.
EleganceSwift 5.0 , very stable and comfortable rom. Without any tweaks is very fast , and very long battery life (in my phone 3-4 days without wifi )
