Utopia 1.0 or swiftdroid asis/sdsl 1.1

The most stable rom with good battery life ( excluding 2.1 roms ) is CM 7.2 by tejas build three.

Utopia 1.0 is good daily rom based on android 2.2 with excellent battery life and stability but it's not good for gaming. Application compatibility is lower than SDSL which is based on android 2.3 and SDSL supports theme choser themes which makes it more customizable. So basically SDSL is better for gaming and for people who needs more customization or want to use certain applications that requires android 2.3. Utopia 1.0 is better if you're looking for stable rom for daily use.

The rom I used for the longest period was PCFighter's V5 with supercharger and and loopy smoothness script. It was the better I've ever tried, stable and fast. Now I'm on ICS, and while I find it faster than GB, I think still isn't enough stable for everyday use if your friend simply wants a phone that work.

EleganceSwift 5.0 , very stable and comfortable rom. Without any tweaks is very fast , and very long battery life (in my phone 3-4 days without wifi )

[Q] question about new custom roms

hi, i want some help with it!
actually i have cyanogenmod gingerbread 2.3.7 with kernel 2.6.29 , by mur4ik
but now i have heard that he is not making or working on it anymore and there are another guys making new things with 2.3.7 for example the swiftdroid second life, or the custom rom made by pete and his friend.
i wanted to know if these ones are better versions than the one i have, or if they are behind it, and if those two are newer and better versions, wich one would you recommend for lg gt 540?,
and another thing, they talk a lot about kernels, really the mur4ik rom i installed was like a package so i really didn't even care about it
but now that are talking about it and wanted to know what is it , and why is better one or another
i heard some of the guys want to puto a .31 kernel instead a .29 and things like that, and well, i really don't know it so well
help with that please, thanks!
Well for kernels look it up on Google a bit too long to explain it here.
For l android 2.1 the best kernel to be used is .29 kernel for 2.2 it would be the .32 kernel and for 2.3 and 4.0(ics) it would be the .35/.38 or 3.0 kernel
As for roms you are using swiftdroid so keep it or then next best thing would be any 2.2 rom I recommend project Utopia but if I where you I will wait for Mike's asop 2.3.7 v6 to come out
I sure am waiting for V6 mike's rom.
For the looks of it i am waiting for mike´s rom V6 it should be fast and stable, just hoping he releases it ASAP....
try Pebe 2.3.7 v5.1 rom, im using it and its quite good!
Yes, the last pcf cm7 (.32) is very good. The only thing that it ends with the battery much faster than for example in pcf aosp 2.2.2 (.32)
Froyo optimum is great too
Amazing battery life and so smooth

sorry to be so silly but,
mike = muraik?
the last one i have from him is v2.0 rc5 swiftdroid based on mur4ik
exactly which one of mike are you telling me about?
if you can post the link to the thread, that'd be nice.

If you want speed and performance, try cm7 roms. I would recommend Hyperdroid and Nexushd2.

+1 for hyperdroid , big fan of his latest work , with Dorimanx kernel im successfully OC'd to 1.6Ghz and games blaze on it . so far battery life is great too its very clean on first install i still removed a few stock apk's from the /system/app directory . but give Hyperdroid a try . it also boasts a HUGE customizeable aspect . I didnt care for NexusHD2 but it def was fast if thats what you want .
You can try Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END 3.0.7 with his 3.8 kernel its realy fast and quadrant scores are alwayes good
i would go with either lady's miui or tytungs aosp, or any of the cm7 roms. real fantastic.
good luck!

I wouldn't bet on the stability of Aurora ICS, at least in it's current state.
It's more up to date, yes, I agree with that but the deal is that you have to decide between the stability and feature set.

CM 7.2 by ezet for sure. Eliterom x1 .32 kernel is a close second for me. Annoying that doesn't have market built in though. Easy to fix, but annoying.
Hi!
I use aurora ICS 4.0.3 version 2.4 by DZO as my everyday rom, is very stable, and is updated very frequently, it was some minor bugs, but IMHO it works better than any official rom.
Regards!
Best rom? Look at my sig!

I use ICS now. But VPN does not working. I am onlyone who needs VPN?
SIP VoIP (I need it) is very problematic in Aurora. Integrated VoIP in ICS does not work. CSipSimple and Siproid does not work. All registers. All make/receive calls. But voice is not transfered. After few seconds CSipSimple transfer huge amount of data via WiFI (and voice not transfered)
Only Linphone Video works. But sound quality is very bad. I test Aurora 1.12a, 2.02, 2.04. Always make full wipe (factory reset, dalvik cache, ...).
I use Linphone Video now but the quality is terrible.
Skype works in Aurora perfectly but I need SIP.
All tested SIP programs works in official ROM but not in Aurora. I am the only one who needs make VoIP (SIP) over WiFi? Aurora is very good ROM. Thanks DZO. But official rom seems better if you need SIP calls.
I have tried to install Gingerbread Rom with no luck. Aurora doesn't work as it should since I didn't have gingerbread. So I think I'd just go for another customrom on that U8800. Any tips for a stable Rom that works without Gingerbread needed?

Reflash stock b136 rom first, then flash miui and You'll be okay This is absolutely the best .32 based Gingerbread rom I've tried to this phone. Even wifitether is working.
God Luck
This question is meaningless.... everyone has their own favorite ROM
You have to test few, and choose one that is best for you

I get your point, but why reinvent the wheel? A lot of roms are very unstable and keeps locking up. That's why I am asking what roms are stable,no hard feelings....

I love Unofficial AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
Many more customization options than NexusHD2 ICS (which I find useless). And battery and speed is great.
Thx
And the stability of this ROM ?
because Nexus HD2 that I tested was a Bugged release

all ics are not stable for now because it dont'have a full hardware accelleration but only an hack.
if you like stability put an gingerbread rom
I would go with xylo's aokp unofficial build. its getting closer and closer to a final, only thing missing is full hwa, but its definetly a great daily driver.
I'm using NexusHD2 ICS V 1.6 Of course there is no ICS rom with full Hardware acceleration for the HD2. This rom is very smooth as i use it everyday. The battery life is VERY GOOD (i get about 23 hours on moderate use).
there is no best mate, just "better", if u want fast, then go for AOKP aka IceCreamTosti, if u prefer a stable want, choose Nexus ICS CM9 from tytung's thread
I'm using the AOKP rom, dont have any real problems with it.
I'm also using Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom without stability problems.
Thanks guys for your feedback
+1 Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom
NexusHD2 is nice.
cm9 beta1 leo with hwa. I ve been using it and its stable and fast.
Out of the Nexus v1.6 and the ice cream Toastie rom is there anything that doesnt work on each rom? ie marketplace, camera
It appears to me that these two are the most popular SD ICS Roms - i want to make a choice between the two without testing really so any input will be greatly appreciated
THANKS LOVE XDA
You really should try it!
The fastest, stablest and best battery saver is Typhoon CM7 ROM! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
Typhoon rom is not a ICS rom.Question is for ICS.

Stable wise - I was using Team Nyx ICS RC5 and it was quite a good ICS rom. I am now trying TAJB V7.1, which is pretty good but has some annoying bugs still it seems, so my recommendation is to upgrade to ICS if you want the stability. I think the JB roms are better on battery though compared to ICS.

If you want a stable ROM, you might want to try CM9 (ICS):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592131
If you want the latest JB, you might want to try CM10 Alpha:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778526
There are specific installation guides in both threads.
You can try TiramiSlim v2.0. Probably one of the best ICS ROMs.

try ICS by arco, ivendor etc etc n get engulfed in the awsummness
Go with a stock ROM for your requirements. JW8 is very fluid.

Try a solid ICS ROM like Slim ICS 4.2. I never had less problems and I tried a lot.
Cant really recommend cm roms..
Try cm9 with devil3 kernel. Very stable and fast. And there is a offical stable version available now! The devil-kernel increases battery live and performance.

Generally on GB Roms everything should run, because it was released official.
On the other hand ICS runs faster and I have no problems so far.
Slim ICS
Hey man definitley reccomend had absolutley no issues with it literally never encounted a problem
I think CM9 Blueberry is pretty good for daily use. :good:
