Wipe data for start and reboot. If nothing happens then go into download mode and flash a new rom following the instructions in the relevant thread. I think that is the only solution I'm afraid. If you haven't made a backup with titanium you lose it all...
sent from my kirillos' v.3 fugumod 2.2 BE oc'd JIT enabled nokia 3210
flashed to kyrillos 3.3 and lost all my data unfortunately.
at least i am not waiting for samsung's upgrade anymore

1) Boot into CWM red recovery
2) Wipe Data
3) Wipe Cache
4) Wipe dalvik cache
5) Go to mounts and storage
6) format everything that doesn't start with SD, so format boot, system, data, dbdata.
7) Install your new ROM
8) Reboot
Basically 100% chance of NO bootloops or running into errors. Don't know why I put 99.9%.Good Night~

No Offense, but there's plenty(I mean tens hundreds ) of posts saying this.
And step 6 is not necessary, I have flashed over 20 Roms and havent had to format my sd.

Thanks xHoLyx, you beat me to posting the same thing. And step #6 is classic gunnermike speak. I'd recognize that anywhere. Adrynalyne just released EC01 ROM and radio, and both he and GizmoDroid have posted slightly different methods for installing the new ROM and radio. Would you like to also post those exact steps in a how to thread and make it seem like you came up with the steps?
I have screwed with my G2 a bit too much...
I bought it 2nd hand with CM7, then I screwed with it a bit, loading different ROMs, trying (and failing) to put the DZ Hboot on it, and other things.
Now, I have CM7 back on it but with the wallpaper that has carried over from BlissSense and the USB connectivity that wont work, nor will Settings open.
Could anyone tell me how to COMPLETELY wipe my phone and start again?
ROM manager isn't working well either, when I try to install a new ROM it reboots but just freezes on the HTC splash screen and doesnt make it into recovery.
Well 2 options:
1) COMPLETELY unroot and start over with the wiki/gfree method to get a good root etc.
2) Simply run ROM manager, flash an older recovery (I'm assuming it wont boot into recovery because its on a 5.x.x.x bad flash). I recommend just flashing the 3.0.2.4 version. After that, download a new ROM .zip (CM7 or whatever you want), put it on your SDcard. Enter recovery, do a COMPLETE wipe, clear everything, and flash the new ROM.
Don't backup any apps or anything. Just start over from scratch with this new ROM flash.
are you able to get into recovery at all though? if you can, search up SuperwipeG2+ in the dev forum and run that. that should wipe your phone 110% so you can install CM7 again.

Thanks,
1) - I will try that after I try 2, but I will have to look it up cause I have no idea how to unroot.
2) Ok, I went into ROM manager and flashed 3.0.2.4, then i entered recovery, these are my options:
-reboot system now
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off
What do I do now?
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. install zip from sdcard > seect ROM that I want
Ok, well I did this:
-Downloaded and put SuperwipeG2 on my sdcard (not SuperwipeG2+ cause I dont have GPS issues)
-Flashed Recovery 3.0.2.4 (Which was a downgrade)
-Rebooted to recovery
-installed from zip > superwipeG2
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard > CM7.0.3.zip
Now it is a real nice fresh CM7!
Thanks GUYS!
Can I ask one more question?
I ran the PC10IMG.zip update to give my G2 a Desire Z HBoot (which was sucessful, vr no. is now .84 where as the old G2 was .76).
But when I go to System > about phone > system memory = 370MB
And data mem = 1.05GB
So I lost the usual 300MB from data mem but didnt make the 200MB gain in system mem!!! what happened?

My suggestion is that your read through the forums here as there are several "beginner guides" that will get you started.
After you installed your first custom rom the process proves itself to be easy:
- Flash a stock ROM (2.2 nordic)
- Acquire root using SuperOneClick
- Instal Clockworkmod recovery/2ndInit (I prefer 2ndInit)
- Transfer the nandroid backup (.zip file) to the root of your SD card
- Reboot phone when led turns blue hit volume down
-Wipe data
-Wipe cache
-Wipe Dalvik (It's under advanced)
-Restore -> select update zip from sdcard
- Browse to the nandroid backup file you put on your sdcard in step 4
Done
I need a 100% fresh start but a factory reset or flashing a new rom doesn't get rid of the system folder so busybox is e.g. always installed.

If that way u wanna do then u can flash a stock firmware and after that u reset the device from phone and start from rooting again
.
Could you use the recovery ? use the recovery to wipe data may be the fastest way
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
Yeah but when I use the wipe function in the recovery or from settings agter the wipe it stilll says e.g. that busybox is installed.
I use CWM recovery to wipe cache, dalvic cache, system partition, data partition and preload partition, then is 100% clean
1st run triangle away v3.00 then reflash the stock firmware using Mobile ODIN, the paid version, and just tick "wipe cache/data" and "wipe dalvik cache". If you don't want root then untick the everroot options and you now have a stock phone.
Cheers...
Sorry, Should of mentioned it will wipe EVERYTHING from internal storage. If you want to keep anything best to back up to PC...
Hi,
I have installed Ultra Gb revolutionary 1.6 Rom and have been using it for a while. I wanted to remove all content on phone..so i tried to wipe data and reinstall the rom again. Rom flashed correctly and i rebooted the phone..but user apps were not removed, they are still on the phone.
I tried changing kernel, flash another rom, flashed utra gb again, the apps are still there, why?
You can try to conenct your sdcard to your PC and delete .android_secure, it contains sd apps that don't get deleted with /data
If it doesn't work you can use Wipe data option in settings :good:

Well, that may be a kernel issue! Try to install stock kernel/ROM via odin and get it all clean!

I think that's not the kernel, he said he tried to change it, i think he haves a problem because /data is not mounted,
OP use CWM and mount /data, then do wipe data & cache

While selecting Factory reset on cwm, data & cache are automatically mounted and both data, cache and .andtoid_secure is wiped! I'm jst sharing my experience, it happened with me few times while using percy_g2 kernel! The best option for me was odin!
In CWM in general partition is mounted when wiped, I think switching kernel and try again
Flash another CM kernel and wipe data then return to your kernel, or do a factory reset from setting in phone
Try to use odin. Your userdata.img may be Corrupted
Press Thanks if Helped
Well a simple solution to the problem :
1.Go to CWM,mount all the partitions and flash percy's kernel (CyanogenMod #2)
2.Go back and then go to advanced > reboot recovery
3.Now you'll be in Percy's recovery and from there, under mounts and storage, format data and format cache.
4.Go back and then go to mounts and storage and mount all the partitions.
5.Flash back to bieltv.3's kernel and reboot.
Finally, i had to flash flash stock Rom via Odin and go back to ultra gb.. Thanks for all the help guys
