Can anyone recommend a good on/off toggle widget for GPRS and wifi for the homepage?
I am using the Extended Controls widget and that works fine for me.
Yeah, the control bar works great, but if your not a fan, try the Widgets from curvefish.

I'm using SwitchPro Widget (Paid) and works perfectly! It was worth spending a few cents..
If you use CyanogenMod, the widget "PowerControl" is included. Or you can turn on the notification buttons and do it from your status bar anytime.
I use Widgetsoid. See here: http://www.appbrain.com/app/widgetsoid2-x/com.jim2. Easy to use and customizable.

I tried it out last night. I really love the status toggle icons! It basically has everything you need!
Miui's folders also look amazing too!
I'm just bringing this up because I was wondering if there was any way to get these elements into other ROMs?
If you are referring to the toggle widgets in the notification bar (wifi, 3G, brightness), both CM6 (thanks to Cyanogen) and many custom Sense ROMs (thanks to JsChiSurf) have these as well. Samsung also includes these toggles in their Touchwiz interface.

Or toggle widgets.
SCH-I500 - DL09/Deodexed/StupidFast 1150lv/darkstar
toggle widgets
Is that contained in launcherpro or is that a downloaded app?
Thanks for your time, Aaron
Its a widget called "power control." Its already on your phone. If you'd like some additional functionality, check out Widgetsoid on the market.

What are some informational widgets that you guys like to use. It can be anything like battery status or clocks and such. I want to try some out and there really isn't a better way to find new ones than community recommendations?
Right now, the only one I'm using is Battery Left
I like battery text widget. It shows the battery level in text form.
Powered by Axura with a dash of Voodoo
Quick Settings, not exactly a widget but even so
Beautiful widgets, worth the price
And that's about it... i keep it simple

If anyone use rom that has AppWidgetPicker.apk (app that group widget when you add widget to homescreen), you will experience no icon when you add the power widget. Oceangreen's method is use to fix that bug.
Thats like saying long press on the screen to place widgets on the homescreen.
Very useful information - sticky this

lololololololol
Thanks, it works.
I have Simply Honey 3.1 ROM installed and its an issue that the powercontrol widget doesn't show any icons. I tried this and there it was! The powercontrol widget icons are back!
This is what i did.
1. Added the powercontrol widget to the desktop. (no icons are appeared, only the empty boxes)
2. I pulled down the notifications bar, and enabled GPS toggle. Voila! the powercontrol widget's icon all appeared.
3. I turned off GPS in the powercontrol widget. (all the powercontrol widget's icon, remained)
Yeah it worked! Some custom roms or badly upgraded roms tend to have invisible icons in power control widget. Please state that in the first post so that users wont get confused
Kool, worked like a charm

No it's describing a workaround for a bug.
What you've described is a feature.
A bug is the opposite of a feature. In other words you couldn't be more wrong.
hi there , i use SwitchPro Widget on my atrix4g and i heard i can put it on my notification bar any idea how to do that ? thanks
Hello,
I'm not sure you can put switchpro on notification bar. Me I'm using Notification toggle, and works pretty well. It is free.
I use Quick Settings. It's not buttons in the notification area of the dropdown menu like switchpro, but it still is very handy.
