What are some informational widgets that you guys like to use. It can be anything like battery status or clocks and such. I want to try some out and there really isn't a better way to find new ones than community recommendations?
Right now, the only one I'm using is Battery Left
I like battery text widget. It shows the battery level in text form.
Powered by Axura with a dash of Voodoo

Any good calendar Widgets that display your upcoming events similar to the sense based Widgets?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
i dont know
smooth calendar
I've tried most of them. My favorites are:
Free - Android Agenda Widget
Paid - Pure Calendar Widget
Pure Calendar Widget I think is the best but it cost a couple dollars.

+1 smooth calendar
Smooth calendar is the best for me...

I have also tried them all. I prefer Simple Calendar Widget for the next appointment view and then Launcher Pro for the agenda view.

Pure Calendar Widget
I like business calendar cause it reminds me of the Sense calendar widget, which was my favorite of all the calendar widgets.
I am using Pure Calendar Widget, because it integrates with Got To Do, which is now defunct.
another +1 for smooth calendar here!
I was going through many different Widgets for various tasks. And then I tried launcher. It cut 10mb off my ram usage, also adds resisable Widgets (standard aswel), has a nice calander widget (I specifically bought it for this) and ads some sick customization. It is very stable too. Please note that this app completely replaces the stock launcher, and so will not even be cached on startup. There is a free version to try, but it is minus the Widgets you seek, but does have screen shots of them (in app). Sory if this seems off topic, but its just another consideration to take in with all the other very helpful suggestions.

Dunno about the HTC calendar but I'm using Android Agenda Widget which is very customizable, integrates with Astrid and GTasks (which in turn integrated with Google Tasks) and also displays your contacts birthdays.
It doesn't look very fancy but it works well!
Pure Calendar Widget vs Smooth Calendar
I just switched to Smooth Calendar from Pure Calendar. Pure Calendar is very functional and looks good unless you switch back and forth between landscape and portrait on your home screen. Regardless of the settings, in landscape Pure's widget gets horribly pinched and is not pleasant. I like Smooth because I really only want a good looking agenda widget; I prefer using the native calendar app for creation and editing.
On a side note, I really liked SPB Shell's calendar widget. Although the widget took an entire pane, it had both a good looking calendar and agenda. Ultimately, I uninstalled in favor of the better usability of ADW Launcher.
I like Android Agenda Widget.
1) Launcher Pro - built in
2) Colorize
3) Pure Calendar

Im think of moving to CM, I'm running Calkulin's Sense Rom no and i can't do with out a Good Calendar that will pull Google Calendar & Exchange. I also need a decent Clock widget as similar to the Sense on as i can get with an alarm clock. Also a decent people widget would be nice. these are the only things holding me back. You CM People here is your challenge to convert yet another.
Pure Calender widget. Pure grid calendar. Also free ones in the market. If you want to incorporate missed calls/mms / exchange email/ twitter/Facebook then use pure messenger. If you need to know more Widgets let me know.
Beautiful Widgets for clock, or gtabsimiclock. Fancy Widgets as well, clokr too and tajm. search for clock widget in the market.
Contacts widget for your contacts.

+1 on Beautiful Widgets. If you pick up the paid version of LauncherPro, you also get a nice calendar and people widget (among others) that are similar to sense.
I just wanted to then you both. I used grit calendar, launched pro for people. Beautiful Widgets for clock and weather for the sense like expierience withfull support of Hotmail, Gmail, and exchange syncing.

you don't need one and you shouldn't use one
http://androidspin.com/2010/05/25/why-you-dont-need-a-task-killer-app-with-android/
Some stuff I have on mine:
Poweramp (best audio player)
MoboPlayer (best free video player)
3G Watchdog (if you need to keep track of your 3G bandwidth so you don't go over)
APNdroid (turns on/off your 3G with one press, works with 3G Watchdog)
AdFree (gets rid of annoying ads in some apps - requires root)
AutoRotate Switch (hold down the search button to toggle auto rotating, great for when you're lying in bed)
Bubble (leveler)
ColorNote (for grocery lists or any other notes)
Tiny Flashlight
Screen Filter (dims screen when you're using the phone at night like when you're in bed so its not too bright)
Titanium Backup (backup all your programs - requires root)
Wifi Analyzer (detects any wifi hotspot in the area)
Spare Parts (I use this to speed up window animations)
Barcode Scanner
Battery Solo Widget (shows a % of battery remaining)
Explorer (file manager)
Unit Converter
Angry Birds
Lighter Free (useless but fun )
Wow thank you very much for that!!
Can someone guide me into how to root this bad boy?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Go to the stickies and there is a guide by kursk on how to root - looks pretty comprehensive to me. Just read it through a few times before you start and you should be fine.

I would also add the following:
SIMI clock widget - great clock app with weather and battery icon built in
Taskos - great for keeping up with to do list/ reminders
dialer one - for a great multi language dialer
Welcome to the club!
If I have to recommend an app, it would be widgetsoid - can replace *a lot* of widgets in the Market
I ran a quick search, but didn't quite find what I was looking for, so here goes.
I'm looking for a way to display ALL notifications on my lockscreen. I use Talk and Trillian a lot and all of the lockscreen notification apps that I've looked at seem to limit you to Calls/SMS/GMail.
I've been using a combination of Widget Locker and Home Notifications Widget, to some success, but overall I've found it incredibly laggy.
Is there some App or lockscreen replacement that I've missed?
This is for my rooted milestone, CM7.

Hmm.
I don't know how much "notified" you want to be, you could try this app...
Pretty much I'm just looking for a list of my notifications on my lockscreen. More or less what's on the pulldown but available just... well, there when I power my screen on.
I've since upgraded - got a wild hare up my ass and bought an xt860 4G (Droid 3) - but I'm going to keep watching this thread because this is something that I'm still looking for.
Look for FlyScreen on Market.

I am thinking of using Nova Launcher, but wondering if I will loose any functionality. Does any one know if this is the case?
Try it and let us know!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I'm using it. You don't lose a great deal - page buddy and the very nice weather widgets are all I can think of that make a daily difference. All the big features still work, including multi-view.
You get rid of most of Touchwiz though, which is a massive advantage.
@ekerbuddyeker - am trying it, but as this is my first Samsung device (only got it today), and never used any of the Samsung features before; I wouldn't have known if I was missing out on anything. Thanks for your contribution though
Seems to be running well so far. Just reading up on "Page Buddy" to see if I think I need it (Thanks Robster83 for that info).
The main advantages of Nova so far are that I can increase the amount of rows and columns on the desktop. I have just come from Paranoid Android on the Galaxy Nexus and with the large screen and default DPI everything on the Note 2 looks VERY BIG. Also finding the swipe down gesture to open up the notifications useful as my fingers struggle to get to the top of the screen when holding the phone in one hand.
Im using Nova and I think its a better option. I can still get Snote to open when I remove the pen so for me losing page buddy doesn't matter. The extra customization is well worth it.
+1 to nova here, much better than tw
Nova is pretty good although does anyone know how to get the S Planner Calendar Widget working with it? The S Planner Calendar widget is so much more advanced than the standard calendar widget and it kinda sucks for that to be the one thing that gets removed when I use Nova.

SPlanner is built into the TouchWiz Launcher, making it impossible to get the widget on anything else other than stock launcher.

+1
I agree with everyone here. Definetly a +1 for Nova over TW.
But since I had page buddy setup to launch Rocket player when my headphones were attached, it seems as though it is locked into that setting. I tried going back to the TW environment to turn it off but it didn't work
Go Launcher is a better option for me, than any other launcher, I would urge those who haven't tried it to give it a go. Loads of customisation possible and the go ex notification add-on is nice.
In terms of calendar widget. Ive also tried loads and best I have found is Pure Calendar Widget.
+1 on Pure Calendar. Also Wizz widget is fine, also free.
I know its not a calendar thread, but if you have already mentioned calendars, then Business Calendar Free!
I'm using nova for two years. After installing it I immediately delete touchwiz launcher. Best launcher I ever tried.
