I am sorry If this is posted somewhere else I searched and found similar things but not exactly this and the answers on post did not fix the issue.
I am running Bonsai 4.0.0
When I try to play mp3 files or download ring-tones I keep getting error unsupported file type. I am transferring the mp3 from my computer. I also tried downloading directly from the phone. Still get the same error.
I was able to download mp3 directly to the phone by changing in "Astro file manager" allow downloads from internet. But still not able to download ring-tones. I was trying to download from myxer.
After changing this I still can not play mp3 or ringtones that I transfer from my computer.

I have the Bell Galaxy S and sometimes email attachments will fail to download. For example I can't download an mpg or jpg file my parents sent me. However, I can download a small text file. Anyone have similar issues and does anyone know how to fix it?
I have an issue downloading "large" files.
It's weird because it seems to be source dependent as well. I was able to download a 34MB HTC sync driver yet a RAR file of 40MB wouldn't download even though the save to pop-up showed up on opera and i pick location but it never starts.
in the built in browser on the other hand i get unsuported file error show up.
I was using the Samsung Email with my hotmail account sync'd. Mpg files and jpg files failed to download. It's very frustrating...even a pdf failed to download but I know I had been able to download one before.
you guys should try this
Attachment to SD

do you have astro file manager installed? if so, there is an option to enable the browser to download unknown file types or smth like that, but it also states that it will mess up your email attachments, so if you have enabled it, you know what to do ^^
cheers
yes astro works too
Sorry, how does this affect using Samsung Email to download attachments? Does it even help? I'd really just like to know why certain files download fine as attachments to the attachment folder while others do not. How can I make it so I can download all attachments...?
it works just like your file association in windows
if you do not have an App installed that can handle the file type, it wont let you do anything with the file, not even saving it to disk
That's stupid that you can't even download the file. Thanks for the help guys.
Im trying to download something from 4shared.com and when i go to download it says content not supported. So i download anyway and when the file is done, its a .bin file. Also wouldnt download any apps when i was using MIkandi also. Just got a new replacement and never had problems with my other.
Bin files are just like zip files, they need to be uncompressed first. Download the file on your pc first, extract the apk, then send to phone.

Same problem here, it doesnt make any sense that it has always worked before and all of a sudden it fails. Another way around it is download it onto the desktop, and then send it to the phone, but its just not the same as before. Anyone?? Ive tried to unmout SD card, format, clear data.cahe, clearing download manager, no success.
download somethinglike Androzip, than it will associate the file extension with that app, allowing you to download it.
I've seen that a couple times on the stock browser but never while using Dolphin on desktop mode.
I installed the UVerse app on my phone and since I have subscription to U300 or higher, I am permitted to download certain content to my phone and view the shows.
I noticed that the files were saved in the following directory:
.../sdcard/QP_MSTB/video
In that folder are various files, large (70+mb; because they are TV videos) ending with extension ".qmv"
I was able to transfer the files to my computer and save them but is there any way I can PLAY them?? I am not sure what format they are in?? The extension does not yield any information. I figure they are encrypted but is there any way to play the files on my computer once transferred??
THANKS!!
I wonder the same. Any progress? Wonder if there's encryption? Will have to mess with it.
Hello, I have an mp3 player sony nwz-e453, it seems to work as an mtp device. When I connect it to iconia, it is visible under mnt/ section and i can transfer/delete files.
But still there is a constant problem of freezing of a process of transfer on the third-forth file. Then the process of transfer stops and i have to replug my player to make it visible again. Then the situation repeats.
Are you using a file manager to transfer the files? If it is giving you troubles have you tried another file manager instead? There are dozens of file managers on the Android Market.

Yes, I have tried total commander, astro, es, root explorer. Now I turned the auto mount off and mounted the mp3 player manually from the terminal as i wanted to check all the automount options. You see when I copy files one by one or from the terminal where the speed is lower, everything is ok. It looks like some buffer is overflowed. It seems like it's time to write a script for a successive copying of files. Any help?
hey XDA,
I am not able to copy Flac audio files from my PC to the Internal Storage of my galaxy s4. When I paste the Flac files into the phone, it prompts for file format not supported, then I click 'No, just Copy' and for all files. But then it only copies the first file (If I selected multiple files) and then freezes. When I cancel the process, the first file is copied successfully.
How can i fix this?
Greets,
Mark

sorry, nerver have this problem before..guess you need to wait for file to completely copy to your phone if it hang just wait until it complete
I have found out the solution today. I had the same problem on two phones, two systems, two laptops. People usually use same set of applications etc
I always used K-lite codecs to play videos on the PC. This causes the problem with copying the Flac files to the phone somehow. Uninstalling it makes it back ok.
