Phone storage reset when battery is empty - Click General

My battery goes emty, when i looked at screen it was saying
Storage reset done (or something)
<MENU> reset phone
only option was menu so i pressed it and when phone turned on it was no phone numbers calls etc...
It happened few weeks earlier but i tought it was my mistake or some...
Now it happened again...
Thanks in advance

When u get it again, just pull out the battery without selecting anything. If you have trouble, flash to it stock using a RUU.

Problem is:
it was sayin storage reset.... done.
and i think that phone reseted before i pressed menu...
also first time i didnt see this screen at all(maybe it was there but i pressed button while phone was in my pocket)

When your phone wasin the pocket, you might have accidentally hit the button combos when it was off.
You usually have this option in VOL DOWN + POWER or HOME+POWER.

M5000 stuck on splash screen.

I've got an M5000...
recently, I did a reset, and upon reboot, I got stuck at teh orange default splash screen.
That was 5 days ago, and after several calls, I'm no closer to finding out why..
So, can someone confirm how to do a hard reset. (I've tried, but heard nothing.
or can anyone offer advise to get my phone back to fectory settings.. I've got a back up of my data, so I'm not bothered about loosing anything.
I've got qa 1Gb SD card, with very little info on it, and I've tried rebooting with and without the card in place.
Any ideas, before I pull my hair out...?
Tris...
To do a hard reset on the Universal:
Press and hold both SoftKeys (the ones with the lines on that point to Calendar and Contacts on the Today screen) and tap the Reset button at the back of the device.
When you have done this you have a choice of pressing X to exit the menu, or 0 to perform the hard reset.
As a last resort (it worked for me)
Put the Universal into bootloader then connect the usb and run romupdate.
to put into bootloader
Power button + Voice record + Reset.

T-Mobile MDA Is Frozen: HELP!!!!

My MDA now all of a sudden keeps locking up on boot-up. It gets to the Today screen and then locks up. I can't do a darn thing. I can hit the power button and it turns the backlight on and off. But I can't turn the phone off or on once it's locked up. All I can do is take the battery out to turn the phone off. But when I go to turn it back on, it just locks up. I can't get it to do a damn thing. Now its says Rebooting in Safe Mode.....and is locked up. I have no clue what to do. I'm on Cust ROM 2.21.
Any ideas?
The same thing just happened to my SIM unlocked 8125 today! I can't even hard reset it. I am on 2.25. I can soft reset it, but a hard rest won't work... I am lost, it worked flawlessly for 5 days, I hung up with a telephone call today and boom, junk... Any ideas how to help me get this thing hard reset? If i press com button and voice button and hit reset, it is just as though I did a soft rest.
So i got it unfrozen by reflashing with the Cingular 225 ROM. Then I had to reload all my crap, well, just a couple of apps... I turned off the phone last night and now when I turn it on this morning, same friggin junk! This is going to suck if I have to keep reloading... The only installed apps were:
spb pocketplus 3.0
AEBPlus and devicelock to map comm button
Any ideas??
Try restarting (soft) with the SD removed. Double check that you have operability after bootup, then reinsert card and verify it is accessing it properly (load a file explorer). Then, do another restart with the card in (by holding down the power button, not the softrestart button) to verify all is good.
It just happened to me about half an hour ago but figured out how to get it running again. Decided to search for "safe mode" to see if there's another way around it, and came up with this post
Hey, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I didn't have a sd card in the phone, I am still waiting for it to be delivered. I have found that by not turning the unit off (holding power button down) it has not happened again. I have also opted not to install any applications until I get my card.
I will play more some other day. I will come back and post a result.

Qtek 9100 will not turn on

The battery came out will the device was connected to the computer via usb. Don't ask how I was messing about, the back came off and then the battery fell out. Now I can't turn it on. When I plug into the mains adaptor the charge light does come on. Any ideas.
Thanks
try to set the device in BOOTMANAGER mode and see if you at least can access that part of the phone!
What did you do when the battery 'came off'? Flashing it?
If you did not flash it press and hold the power button and remove the battery. Keep pressing the power button for an additional 15 to 30 sec after you removed the battery.
Leave the phone without the battery for half an hour or so, then press and hold Power for 30 sec. While still holding the power button place the battery back in, release power, wait 10 sec and try to turn it on ...
Thanks very much for your reply. I had just flashed it. It had rebooted and hung on the splash screen. I then picked up the phone and accidently knocked the battery out. Do you think this makes a difference to your suggestion?
Tried your technique but nothing unfortunately. It may be dead!
Thanks anyway.
Maybe my phone is dead too
I did the same with my phone...just did a flash and rebooted and now freeze on the splash screen...what can i do to save my phone?
If you're phone still turns on and just hangs at the splash screen as far as I understand you can then hold down the camera button and press the soft reset key. This should take you into the bootloader. From there you can re-flash the device with a different ROM like 'Wizard Love' (you can find it on this site somewhere, use search) or download the latest ROM from your provider. Use a NO_ID flash utility which means you don't have to have Activesync 'active'. My problem is slightly different as my device won't turn on at all. I've just bought a replacement battery just incase thats the problem. Otherwise I guess its gone for good.
If the flash finished successfully you can try first:
HOLD CON KEY (left side of the phone) + VOICE DIAL KEY (right side of the phone) + RESET. This will HARD RESET your device and re-initialize the ROM - might be that that can fix it! If not try to reflash it with the shipped ROM
BOOTLOADER MODE:
Power button + Camera button + Reset.

Hermes Power Button

I having a problem with my Hermes, i am running WM6.1 CRC13.3 and my Power button simply refuses to work, i simply does nothing when i press it, i thought it could be a hardware problem, but if i turn off hermes(by taking the battery out, since the power button doesn't work) and put the battery back, it instantly turns on itself on without pressing power button... When the phone is in stand-by mode, i have to press the button next to the Power to wake it... the power button simply does nothing... However then i take the battery out, and press Power+OK and put the battery back, it goes to the booloader screen, so the Power button physically appears to work.... I haven't tried to hard reset it yet...
does this happen with other roms to?
i does not reflash you device with an original rom then flash you current rom, this kind of weird bugs appear when flashing wm6+++ roms.
mine used to self reset when i soft reseted.
No, i flashed this rom a couple of months ago and never experienced this issue...till now..

How to Soft Reset

Am i missing something...I coming form windows mobile..I don't see a button under the cover, or way to soft rest...Can someone please share some light?
With Android it's pretty much not needed. It's a pretty rare occasion (I can't say it's every happened with my G1 or MyTouch, so...) when simply holding the power button won't give you the power-down menu, no matter what kind of crazy things an application has done. If things get really bad (a deep down error in the OS... also a very rare occasion) it will more likely reboot itself than simply freeze up.
But if that rare occasion does happen, you'll just pop off the back cover and pull out the battery for a few seconds. No harm, no foul.
Exactly, Worse comes to worst and you pull the battery.
there is a hard reset, go into bootloader (hold trackball and power on phone)and press Reset (Factory Defaults).
Hard reset != soft reset.
Hard reset does not equal soft reset.
Hard reset in Android land is roughly similar to a wipe in WinMo ROM hacking land, except you WILL NOT want to do it after flashing a full ROM, only before.
I know that, thats why I said hard reset not soft reset.
Soft reset: hold down power button+volume down+track ball.
Wonder if there is some application that can do it (like the ones we had on windows mobile)
I imagine it's a superuser function, so, for an app, you would need root access on your phone, and you would need to allow it.
Trackball + Volume Down + Power. Your phone will soft reset after about 2 sec.

Does it remove my contact list or it will just reboot the cell phone like we reboot the computer or a windows cell phone using the reset button?
Thanks
It's a soft reset, apps with unsaved data you have running may not save, but other than that it's basically like telling your phone to shut down, then telling it to power back on.
