HD2, WP7 and AT&T - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I might be getting an HD2 to run on AT&T and if that is the case, how can I do that after flashing WP7 onto it?

if you get a t-mobile one it will not be able to run on At&t 3g, but everything else should work
just manually enter the APN under settings (you can google for at t apn) and you should be good to go
Have fun!

MyTouch rooting/web problem

So, I bought an unlock T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (the original) from eBay. The guy was silly and didn't actually reset it, so I was able to put my SIM in and go. I have T-Mobile and the grandfathered $5.99 plan. I changed the APN to wap.voicestream.com and everything was golden - got 3G, Gmail/App Market/Youtube worked. So, as I do, I figured I'd root the phone and used the instructions from the CyanogenMod Wiki. I got as far as flashing the phone with sappimg.nbh, restarted, and now I can't "activate" or whathaveyou. I tried just changing the APN, to no avail.
My internet still works when putting the SIM in my unlocked iPhone.
So, my question is...how do I get it to work? Am I now just stuck? Is there a way to flash the phone back to stock Donut?
i am stuck in the same boat..
apparently once connected thru the MyTouch.. tmobile will block your internet from working again for that particular MyTouch phone with that simcard..
It's bullcrap. But whatever. Will this happen with the Nexus One also? Because my whole deal was, I was going to buy a cheap Android phone and, if I like the OS, pay the $529 or whatever for a N1.
everyone gets free internet once there sim card FIRST goes in but after a while it stops this happend to me
mytouch 3g internet
i have a mytouch 3g and the internet and data plan from a tmobile wing.it works with a unlocked iphone but i cant get it to work with the mytouch.only phone calls and text.no internet, youtube etc.anyone know how to fix this problem?

Telstra HTC HD2 working on Rogers Network

Hi,
I recently purchased the telstra austrailian hd2 online to work on the Rogers network. Everything seemed fine until I got it out and was not able to get a data connection. Funny thing after setting up all the data settings, the MMS was working just fine and it would show in the top corner that I was connected to 3G Rogers. Just not internet, gps, etc. Changed frequencies and was able to get it to work on EDGE but still not on 3G
This is what I found:
YOU NEED A DAMN 3G SIM CARD, which I didn't have, last phone I had was 2G (working on edge). After putting my bro's sim in (and he has 3g working on his blackberry) it started working just fine. Apparently the 3G sims have "4000" in the numbers on the card, if you don't have that then your sim will not get HSPA and simply not work on 3G.
Another thing you might want to do, and I found this in a thread and can't find it anymore is to add in the Band Types, as all of them are not listed. The phone WILL still work, but you should put them in. I've attached the same registry edit that I found, and they all show up now.
SO IT IS CONFIRMED TELSTRA HD2 WILL WORK ON ROGERS NETWORK, and I was able to flash an HSPL on it and put the Artemis Rom on there and it is working great.
Hope this helps for those that are having the same problems that I did.
Thanks
Alright. So I have a T Mobile HD2, and I've managed to get it to do just about everything on the Rogers network EXCEPT give me 3G. I'd like to try whatever you did for the Aussie version... I'm sure it's similar. What does the band zip file do - where do I put it, and what is the flash HSPL part about? Sorry... I'm pretty computer savvy, but new to the winmo world....
oh ya.......big discovery you have done buddy.everyone knew that Telstra HTC HD2 working on Rogers Network,

what rom to flash?

hi i have a htc hs2 for t-mobile unlocked, i live in Canada and am using the rogers network , i cant seem to get my data connection to work on the phone. it asks me to login and put in additional info, would i be able to install a rom for the other hd2 leo section so it doent have t-mobile stuff on it. i basically want my data top work and it doesnt recongnize my current data connection, i can make calls just no internet except wifi. any help would be great. thanks
Sure you could flash a Leo rom but you will most likely brick your phone. You need to change the settings from the T-mobile internet settings to Rogers internet settings.

WP7 mobile network (UK)

I put WP7 on my HD2 today and the automatic network it picks is T-Mobile UK but I'm with Virgin. I went to the settings to look for Virgin but it's not in the list. If I use it as T-Mobile, is that going to count as 'roaming'? A text and a call I made over an hour ago haven't shown up on my Virgin account's recent calls yet, so I'm going to assume this is the case (it's normally takes less than 30 minutes unless roaming).
Does anyone know how I can enable it for Virgin?
Yep, I'm having the same problems... I can' find a place where I can change the settings to put a manual network in place...
have you installed the connection setup xap??
it will configure the phone for your network and needs to be done with HD2's.
im on t-mobile but could not use 3g or internet data unless i ran the xap and it configured it. maybe it will sort your problem.
Virgin use T-mobile's phone masts, you won't be charged any roaming fees.

Just to let u guys know, I did the same, and 3g works, it also displays virgin media now.
To clarify things a bit. Some ROM''s don't display correctly the names ot virtual mobile operators like Virgin or Tesco in the UK or elsewhere in the world. Instead the phones display the name of the network that is actually used by the virtual operator. That shouldn't be a problem at all and involves no additional costs to the user
Thanks for all the advice. I checked this morning and the call and text came through uncharged, so it wasn't roaming. Unable to confirm whether the connection setup suggested works for me as I got impatient last night and wasn't too impressed with WP7 anyway, so decided to flash NANDroid (seeing as I now had the right HSPL and MAGLDR in place for WP7).
Thanks again.
hread moved to HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A and General
If your on Virgin Mobile you will need to change the APN settings under 'mobile network' in settings for Virgin mobile to get 3G and such

[Q] Need help with unlocked Verizon Trophy

I bought a Htc Verizon Trophy and had it factory unlocked by Verizon . Popped in my AT&T sim card and it only gets edge and not 3G . I performed several hard resets and entered the correct APN settings and still no 3G. T-mobile sim card works also but edge is expected. Voice and Internet work great but I was under the impression that it was dual mode and has the AT&T 3G radios and should work on 3G.
Any suggestions or pointers on getting the 3G working?
Thanks
Download "HTC Connection Setup" under the HTC apps in the Market. Select AT&T from the settings and it should help you out.
Also, make sure your AT&T area offers 3G coverage. In my area of Northwest PA, 3G coverage is almost none existent. Basically, if your sim allowed 3G on another phone before, it should be okay (or check AT&T coverage map).
Be careful, I used this program to set my Verizon settings and now I can't get data on Verizon anymore. . Guess that's what I get for playing around.

Did you restore your trophy to a backup from before you used HTC connection setup? I just did the interop unlock for my trophy as well and I cant get 3G data back. Im hoping restoring the phone to an old backup will fix the problem. Verizon better not have somehow blocked our phones from getting 3G!
