GV invite please.

I hate to ask this in the forums, but can anyone invite me to google voice?
I've been waiting over 2 weeks now, lol. idk, I guess google is backed up.
If you can, sent invite to [email protected]
If not, I understand. Just been trying to play with the VoIP with sipdroid, but no luck yet.

Just thought I'd add this in,
I was digging around for native program for the G1 & the MT3G being I have both now, and it looks like there might be hope for 1 program if we can get enough people to vote for it.
I did a search, but didn't see anything related to icall.com in the forums.

You will see on the left side a place to vote for it. Hoping alot of you do, as I have this for my Wife's Iphone and it works well. though I just noticed this morning that there taking votes for the next release.

I waited 4-6 weeks for my invite and they come from Google. Users can't invite you that I know of.

I broke down after waiting a month and bought 3 invites for me and my friends for $1 on ebay Works great.

GV is one of the best software ever. Google is going to take over the world!

If you have a twitter account - follow them and post about Google Voice... I did that and received an invite in 3 days after applying ...

C'mon, I just saw someone selling 3 GV invites for $0.99 on fleabay. Don't be sooooo cheap.

Can accounts issue invites?

Turns out, you don't need GV to get Sipdroid to work.
I signed up for an account from http://phone.ipkall.com for the phone number.
In the Setup ( Sign up Page ) change you sip number to your Gizmo5 sip Number ( 1747XXXXXXX ) & set your SIP Proxy to proxy01.sipphone.com
all incoming phone calls so far ring, and I've not had any problem making calls on 3G or WiFI calls. Edge calls are kinda laggy, but over all it working great minus Edge calls.
Hope this help those that are wanting to play around with the VoIP.
I only needed this due to signal from t-Mobile is far from none at my Grandparents house, So now I can still call my Wife ( and Receive ) or whoever if needed via WiFi calls.
It's a cut & dry setup, but if you need help just ask.

Sprint and Google Voice FTW

Soon, you can use your Sprint number with Google Voice, without having to pay to port it over, and without having to cancel your Sprint line! Your Sprint number will double as your Google Voice number (or you can switch your current Google Voice number to be your new Sprint number). Either way, you have one number that will be both your Sprint number AND your Google Voice number (if you want)!

SWEET! I'm sold, wait, I was already sold on Gvoice. Now I won't have to text from one number (Gvoice # from my computer) and call people with my sprint number because I want my unlimited m2m.

Yeah, me too...but the end of the video says that starndard minute rates still apply, so I wonder if we're going to loose Unlimited M2M / N&Ws if we do this?

Only reason I have not moved 100% to my GV number is that it does not use mobile minutes. The only reason I do not go over my minutes monthly is because of the mobile to mobile inclusion.

Ill be impressed when you can send and receive mms via gv.

This news combined with the official announcement of a Nexus S 4G coming out to Sprint ... I think Google is positioning itself with the only carrier left that wants to play nicely.
I will gladly swap to use my google # and only my Google # if it means it integrates my mobile minutes properly. I already loved GV.

It shouldn't be long before mms work with GV. They already have the technology and know-how to get it to work, it's just a matter of getting Google to actually implement it. Even though Google is a very fast moving company for it's size, things still take some time.
This is what the creator of GV recently said.

This is pretty sweet as long as it doesn't kill the free mobile to mobile. Currently all GV number outgoing and incoming calls are treated as land line calls regardless of whether or not you call a mobile number. Hopefully this will be addressed. Free mobile to mobile is the main thing that keeps me at Sprint and I would love for it to be integrated with GV.

I don't understand how this works. I already use GV and I have a number that I chose which is easy to memorize. I don't use it for texting but I do use it to mask my number sometimes.
It's my understanding that I can replace my Sprint number with the GV number without getting an ETF. Is that right? I'd prefer to use my GV number as my primary and my Sprint as the secondary if it's available. I don't mind losing my Sprint number if I can get my GV number as my primary.

I'm super excited about this. I use GV as my primary number (I was lucky enough to get an invite way, way back). I hope using my gv number will be like calling a mobile number. I have my phone set up to ask me if I want to call with google voice or my cell right now. People get confused when they see my cell number coming up instead of my google voice number.

If you go to this Google website, you can enter your email and be notified when it becomes available to you.

I don't even get the link to check my phone. It shows a Sprint logo though.

Noticed the prompt this morning, still not sure if I'll make the change. Kind of like the dual number juggle myself.

if you have any type of discount you can't do it till sprint fixes there i386 lol
inorder to do it you have to contact sprint get them to remove your discount till the google sprint kicks in then get them to reapply your discount

Yeah, I'm on the phone with Sprint right now. Went to tech support, the first guy had no idea what google voice was.....then he sent me to someone else, and now I am talking to business relations because I have a employee discount.....talk about a headache!

screw that, i hope they fix there system in a timely matter since i dont wanna call them for fear of having to listen to someone who has no clue wtf there talking about.

Gahhh, screw it. I don't want to mess with sprint.
What I was planning on doing iis porting this number to another one of my gmail accounts, then I'd just use the gvoice app to keep using my current gvoice number, which I only use for texting ; I use my sprint number for calls.

It probably won't, since most of the people at Sprint probably don't even know what Google Voice is, let alone what color the Sprint logo is.

I have an employee discount an ported my number to GVoice no problem last week.... Am I going to lose my discount or something?

Well, that was great, on the phone with 5 different people to find out that certain types of phones accounts will not work with this (pre-paid, nextel, corporate and government accounts). So, if you get a discount for being in the military, you can't do this.

Google should just buy Sprint and get into the market that way.

Anyone out there already use gv callback with sprint to home? That's what I currently use and wondering if there's any benefit (or drawback) to porting. ?

If you use your Google voice as your sprint to home number it will not work any more because your sprint number will be your GV number. Your GV number will go away after 3 months once you convert.

Free calls using wi-fi calling app?

Not sure about you, but my mt4g came with Wi-Fi Calling preloaded on it. The symbol for the app looks like a blue message bubble with wifi lines inside of it. And it does work.

I know but the point is placing calls over Wi-Fi deducts from in-plan minutes if you dont have the feature on your account.

You have to actually call the customer service number and have them activate the free wifi calling.
If you don't it'll deduct from your minutes even when you are on wifi.
I called today and they activated it for me. For free, btw. No monthly fees for it.

It used to cost $10 a month. I don't need to have it added because I have unlimited minutes so it's be kind of redundant.

Yeah. I actually activated it for free on T-Mobile and it is working pretty good on the mt4g. Good thing because my apartment is a blackhole for T-Mobile cell service... not so good when I forget to turn it off and I get calls at 7am from people who think everyone wakes up when they do.

[Q] Recieving call issues?

Hey. Was wondering if anyone had a similar problem, or knew of a possible cause or fix.
Whenever someone on a carrier other then sprint tries calling my epic, they get a "your call did not go through, please try again 025T" error message. I can make calls to those same numbers, but they can't even get through to my voice mail.
Never had a problem like this. Started randomly last night. Contacted Sprint, and they tried the normal updating profile, prl, etc, but no dice.
I'm on Syndicate Frozen 2.2
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
I'm using an airrave as well, but the issue is happening whether I'm using the airave or not.

Weird, yesterday my other phone incoming calls would go straight to voicemail. Called sprint and they went through the hands free activation to get it to work. I wonder if they are related.

Having the exact same problem. Also on Syndicate 1.2 and using an Airrave. Phone would only ring when I had the screen on or had just recently locked it. When the screen was off for a few minutes all calls would be routed to voicemail or just fail completely and I wouldn't even get a missed call notification.

Same here. While in airave range, incoming calls go straight to voicemail.

Funny story. I got a job offer thursday.. phone didnt ring. I got the voicemail friday NIGHT after business hours. I cancelled my contract and went to verizon. I raged but now I don't have to worry about this crap again.

p.s. you could try using roam control and forcing verizon towers. I blame sprint being terrible

Also Airave here! Did anyone call Airave people? After the hands free activation it worked fine but if it happens again today I will call them. They love to update software and f%$k up people's phones.

I called on Friday, but they didn't help much past restart your Airave and your phone, then call us back if you're still having issues.
I'll be calling in again today once I get home.
Btw, I know it's definitely an airave issue in my case, because calls come in just fine when the airave is powered off.

They updated the Airave software on Friday and screwed everyone's service up. Everyone call and yell to get full upgrade status or ETF waived and put on month to month. This is unacceptable and Sprint should be liable. I lost a $2000 AC job! Anyone want to start a class action suit since this is Sprint caused?
