Hi,
I have some problem with GMail app. When label in Gmail has "Sychronize 4 days" option, everything is OK, but when I open label that has no synchronize option, it just shows "Loading conversations..." and nothing happens. Sometimes it ends in "No connection". I tried to clear data of GMail app, it didn't help. Official solution is to clear data of "Gmail storage" app, but I can't see it on Droid.
Do you have any ideas?
This just started happening to me as well... I just figured I hadn't gotten any mail in awhile lol

I'm having issues with the gmail app, once i read an item if i mark it read and delete it, it will remove from my inbox and be marked as read and go to trash as expected, but then later when i get another email my notification will tell me i have for example 3 emails, when i open the gmail app there is only one email listed but at the top it will say "Email (3)", so i checked the "trash" and there is nothing there, so i then go to "all mail" and the 2 i deleted earlier are moved there and marked unread......does anyone have any idea how to fix this??

had the same issue... to fix it i went into my gmail on the pc and opened some emails...deleted my trash..etc....and since, no more gmail issues on the phone.
i read on here somewhere...that having gmail open on a computer, and your phone at the same time can wreak a lil havoc...iirc
Thanks!
I havent had both the desktop and phone versions of gmail open at the same time, and i have done the delete on gmail.com thing, that only works for the next couple syncs then it comes back....
I just cleared my app data, cache and gmail storage cache, i'm going to see if that fixes it, if it does i'll post up for others that my encounter the same issue
ok as i stated i would post up my results, it looks like clearing the gmail app data and cache, as well as the gmail storage cache worked, i'm no longer having this issue
I have some sync issues with Gmail apps too. It doesn't show somme mails, sometimes yes, sometimes no...
Where are the caches for Gmail apps to clear them up please ?
I tried searching but found nothing about this. I went to check my email today and noticed that two emails I sent yesterday were never sent. I tried to manually refresh as well as syncing from the settings menu but it still won't work. It will not sycn or refresh. I tried rebooting the phone too. Anyone else having this issue? Any other program that uses data works perfect and I can use gmail.com but I cannot use the Gmail App.
Update:
I went to "Applications", "Manage Apps", "Gmail" in Settings and cleared cache, cleared data, and forced stop then did the same in "Gmail Storage" and it works now. Everything is still there but now it syncs again.
I don't know if this a problem with gmail its self or my phone but gmails keep getting stuck in out box and not sending and when deleting read emails they somehow reappear in my inbox as if I didn't delete them.
Sometimes I can't view all my emails, it says ( 1 ) for example but it won't show it no matter how many times i refresh. I have my gmail account synced with SE sync and I'm really puzzled to why this is happening. Anyone else got the same?
Iv tried doing a master reset twice this week on the phone ( x10i with latest fw r2ba26 rooted ) and this has not helped.

I had the same problems and I found out eventually what has been causing them.
I will try to explain, but keep in mind, my english are not perfect!
So, Gmail works via the Google Cloud, which means that you need to be constantly connected to the internet so that you can get notification and/or send mails. Under Settings>Synchronisation the Gmail should be ticked in order for that to work.
However, if you don't want to use the cloud thing (untick the Gmail option), you can still use Gmail.
But in that case, you need to manually ask Gmail to connect to the internet.
So, after composing a mail and hitting Send, you need to press the Menu button and choose Refresh. That way your mail will be sent.
The same applies when you delete an email. You need to hit Refresh for that too.
Also, after reading an email, you should hit Refresh in order for it to be marked are read.
As for the "unread" mails that don't show up, sometimes they "get stuck" in the cloud and not marked as read, after you have actually opened them.
If you open Gmail on your PC, or on your phone's browser, you will see the mail that hasn't been marked as read.
Hope I helped!
I understand what you are saying, your english is fine The thing is i do have gmail sync turned on within the settings and even if i keep pressing refresh nothing happens about the ones which i delete or have read, makes absolutly no differnce apart from anything i deleted will come up as unread again.
I have just reflashed my phone with SEUS and 'repaired' so we'll see if that helps.
Thanks for the quick reply by the way
While googling your issue, I came across this interesting discussion, take a look!
And to save you a little time from reading, someone said that this solved the problem:
I was final able to fix this by doing the following:
Settings>Applications>Manage applications>All>
Then scroll down to 'Gmail' and select it
Then select 'Clear Data'
When you next open Gmail it will re-sync your mail. It cleared up my problem. This wipes out all of your Gmail settings, so you will need to set up your ringtone and notification options if you had made any customizations.

Thanks very much I have just finished flashing and have set up everything how it was before. I shall do that now.
Thank god for titanium back up lol
Looking for some additional ideas - and I've checked/tried a lot.
I actually like the stock email app. Having an issue with Yahoo mail accounts on it.
I can send/receive messages fine. I can view messages in my Inbox.
However, when I try to go to Sent Items - it hangs on "Loading Messages".
Same if I try to open up another folder within the mailbox. I can see the folders - just not any of the content IN the folders. It just hangs on "Loading Messages" and nothing ever shows up.
My Sync is enabled. I've cleared cache for the email app as well as the phone from recovery mode. I haven't done a full reset - but may end up doing that.
I have used other mail apps (K-9, MailDroid, Touchdown) - but honestly - I like this app. It has worked great for me for quite sometime. Although I don't know when/why it stopped - but its aggravating.
Any ideas or suggestions for me to try?
I've also "uninstalled" and "reinstalled" the APK - and am getting the same results.
My current email handler is aqua mail. Haven't really tried to many though but I really like this one

Appreciate the reply - but I'm not interested in any 3rd party apps. I'd like to get the stock one working.
I've removed the app & reinstalled it (rooted & replaced secemail_j.apk and installed) - and still no dice. About the next thing I can try is a factory reset of the device - but I really don't want to do that.
This is weird. Inbox loads right up. Any other folder - including sent, bulk, etc - they just don't load...just sits at "loading messages" forever...literally. No error, no messages showing - nothing.

So - some more info...I've had this issue for a while - but forget when it started and have been using other apps - which I don't like. I've even tried the "new gmail-styled" email app - and didn't care for it either.
So after doing some more digging - I found that after people upgraded to KitKat - these "sync issues" started. Many people had theirs resolved by checking the sync settings. No dice for me.
What I found today - after wiping the phone and starting from scratch - is the issue still persists - with multiple yahoo email accounts - BUT - I made "slight progress" in that if I uncheck the "Auto SYNC" option - and go into mail and into my yahoo subfolders (sent items, bulk, and ones I created) SOMETIMES, the message actually DO sync up - but not always. Of course, this does me no good - as I need the auto-sync on. And, like I said - some folders restored all their data, some restored partial, and some restored none when I manually kicked off the "load messages" button inside of each folder.
I'll have to use a 3rd party app - but I'm just surprised I haven't seen this issue reported on these forums. I would think more people are using multiple email accounts in the stock mail app - including yahoo accounts - and experiencing this issue. But, maybe not. Maybe everyone just dumps out to a 3rd party app...and/or try to contact Samsung or wait & see if the next OTA resolves it...<sigh>
Since the Nougat update, my gmail account no longer auto-syncs or receives pushed messages, even if the gmail app is open when the message should arrive. If I sync manually, I immediately see the pending messages.
Power-saving is not on. I've double-checked the phone's auto-sync toggle and the notification settings for the gmail app and for this particular gmail account, in the app and in the Application Manager. Other devices receive push messages in gmail for the same account. Other apps (such as Google Voice) successfully push messages to the phone, resulting in immediate notification. Doze optimization is turned off for gmail. I tried clearing data and cache for gmail and then reestablishing the account, but that didn't help.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
If you haven't tried already, reboot to recovery and wipe cache partition, it's worth a try.
Do you have any apps disabled?

For what it's worth, I'm having the exact same issue on my phone since the Nougat update! It also happens with my AT&T (home) voicemail viewer. I used to get notifications immediately when I got a message at home, now it never tells me unless I open the app.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wiping the cache in recovery didn't help. The only disabled apps are DirecTV and Fullscreen (and no task/power manager apps are in use).
I've noticed that it's not just incoming messages that don't auto-sync; it doesn't auto-sync in the other direction either. If I delete or archive a message in the gmail app, I don't see that change on other devices until I manually sync the gmail app.
As a workaround, Samsung's Email app is auto-syncing properly.
Now I'm seeing the same problem with Samsung's Email app too.
I was able to fix this problem (and also the absence of my phone from the Android Device Manager listings) using some combination of these methods:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/play/X3f4PmL7Zf8
http://forums.androidcentral.com/an...vice-manager-how-fix-devices-not-showing.html
I solved the problem uninstalling all the gmail updates and stopping the autoupdates from the play store. If I use the original version of gmail (first installation on the phone before udates) it syncs perfectly. Hope this can help. And hope samsung and google can solve the problem!
I noticed this issue only goes away when you turn off power saving...
@ Isidrology is right, for the S7 with nougat I went to settings, device maintenance, battery, battery usage, hit the 3 dots in upper right corner, optimize battery usage, change drop down to all apps, and deselect gmail and whatever else you don't want doze messing with your phone. I deselected google opinion rewards as well and 10 minutes later I got a new survey!
Thanks William5, it was well hidden but it seems to work

Thanks! This seems to have solved the problem on my Sprint S7.
In Android 7.0 Nougat Samsung Galaxy S8+, there is no GMail under Device Management-->Battery-->Unmonitored Apps
I have had this phone for 6 months and email only gets refreshed manually. Even when refreshing manually I usually have to do it twice for any email to appear. I have tried every other setting I can find.
