Hi guys, sorry I'm still new to rooting on android. Im currently running CM7 Build 34 and obviously Im having the problem that CM doesnt read contacts on the SIM card. My question is do all roms have this problem? or is just Cyanogenmod? If other ROMS are compatible with SIM crads, can you please list a few?

You can back up your contacts thru google with your email. Though I remember something about apps on the market that take them from your sim.

Royalginger,ice glacier thats the only roms ive flashed & they been perfect & also reads sim card contacts..
I noticed that not all my contacts moved when I first switched to an android device. My solution was stick the SIM card back into my old phone, copy the contacts to an Excel file, and re-enter the missing ones by hand (and delete dupes). And I always choose Google for new contacts so they all get backed up in the same place.

Nope, not at the moment. Since android runs off the SDCard and windows resides on the flashable NAND memory windows always loads before it's shut off by Haret. When the DFT team releases the Magldr, then you might be able to do what you're asking for. Hope that answers your question.

Hi guys
I have the MDJ FroYo HD v.4.4 build on my HD2, a friend recommended i tried MiUi so i put it on to my sd card booted it up then went back to MDJ's build and received an error when i turn on WiFi and excessive battery drain, far more than normal! since deleting MiUi folder from sd card battery seems to have got better but still error on WiFi. is it even possible to have two types of android on your sd card? Or am i just unlucky?
Anyone else having this problem?

I have 3 different android builds on my SD card without any problems, so I'm not sure what's wrong with yours.

MIUI builds create another Android folder beside it's original file, that may have conflicted with your MDJ's

Almost all android builds create other files on SD card. Normally they shouldn't conflict with each other but its possible your miui overwrote or corrupted something in your dhd build. Also possible for there to be little bits of programming still lingering around.

hi all I am a complete newbie and looking for some guidance from the pros....I have an htc hd2 and I am running AmeriCanAndroid 052111 and would like to update to AmeriCanAndroid 052911 with out loosing my contact list or games. Is there anyway possible to just upgrade the version i have to AmeriCanAndroid 052911? The only reason I want to upgrade is netflix no longer works on the version I have. I have downloaded AmeriCanAndroid 052911 but I would hate to put all my contacts in again. build 05212011 works great for me except that netfix does not work, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Associate your contacts with your google account....then no more worries no matter upgrading or switching to another devs build.

I could instruct you on the process of converting contacts but it would be in your better interest to look it up....my journeys always led me to cool new things I didnt know before.

I'm pretty new here so my apologizes if I ask stupid questions...
To be honest I rooted my phone but I'd like to flash a custom rom on my phone;
I was wondering if there are roms which give us the possibility to move apps and also app data to sd card???
Because it's not possible to move app data to sd card with the original firmware, what are your best advices for me to fix that problem?
Which roms and or kernels do I have to flash to fix this problem?

If u are rooted then u can use folder mount app from Play Store it has that option
No Rom has app to sd feature as of now
However if u wanna install a ROM u can start with omega rom it's very nice

I searched every corner of the internet and xda developers every day. On CM modes dual sim is not working, MIUI 6, 7 not a sign, only stock ones and moddified stock ones Is anybody outhere thinging of us users..
I`m curently on CM 12.1 and second sim does not work... If nobody answares i will sadly come back to stock version...

Try PacRom. I am on indian dual sim version. Both sims work for me. That is data and calls work.

Hey 10x I tried this one too. The dialer app had problems when selecting the sim from with to call (i remember instaling a dialer app from market) and the storage was like the stock one verry low... unlike CM or MIUI

I am using this PacRom from 2 months. If you are on HTC Desire 816 dual sim Indian version (a5dwg) you should not have any problems. Dialer app is fine. You can change the sim selection settings in SIM cards section in the settings menu. And regarding the storage, thats universal problem. But you can get more storage by selecting SD card as a storage path in the camera options. By doing this all your pics and vids will be stored on SD card and your apps on Internal SD.

My phone is a5dug and i installed that rom aswell, when i call from the second sim i can`t hear anything . I tried to explain the issue but the developer stoped the development of that rom...
