Do you have a VOIP account?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

Why does this look incredibly familiar...?
tl;dr:
Need SIP provider that connects to POTS.
Need SIP account at said provider.
Need to add POTS number for said SIP account as a phone in Google Voice.
PBXes used to fulfill these requirements, but they're out of capacity for free users (and also skipped going over POTS, instead tying into the Gmail Chat widget's system). Sipgate could provide such an account, but their quality can be meh, won't do calling without GV Callback, and frequently run out of numbers.

Dude sorry to bother but how do I get all that stuff n a VOIP account, sorry to sound stupid but I'm new to all this stuff...thanx

Rogers Email Issue - Cannot Connect

Anyone know how to setup an email account on a Hermes? And what the settings for Rogers are? Tech support gave me a MyMail data plan but did not tell me how to set it up.
Anyone?
http://www.shoprogers.com/business/wireless/plans_services/mymailsetup.asp
Thanks for the link, but thats specifically for MyMail. Currently it isn't an active service right now (I added it and they told me it was really availible yet). But I have the data connection, so I mostly need to know how to setup a direct POP3 connection and my own data connection for that matter. Everythign I find seems like it doesnt match my situation.
I don't understand what you're trying to say... if you have the data... you don't know your pop3 settings? For what account then?

Outgoing Email Issues on Mogul

My POP3 account works fine for incoming email but when I attempt to send outgoing it says "looking for changes" then errors out. When I switch over to WIFI outgoing emails send just fine. My ISP is Cox. Any ideas why this is occurring? Thanks
Don
I ran into this too and searched google about it, the answer seems to be that most ISP's block use of their smtp server for outside domains even if you have a user/pass. When you switch to wifi you are using cox again so it works.
Something about preventing abuse by spammers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Supposedly you need to call your wireless provider and set up an email account with them to send email from your phone. What I did was set up a free hotmail account and used Windows live because I don't feel like talking to Sprint any more than I have to.

I'm talking to the 4th tech person from Sprint in the last hour so I know exactly what you mean! They indicated that I have to use Spint's smtp for outgoing but that's not working either. Maybe I'll try a hotmail account. Thanks for your help.
I was able to get ahold of Sprint's EVDO Support at 866-818-1944 and suprisingly they were very helpful and were able to get my outgoing email working.
My ISP (Cox) blocks all outgoing email that originate from a different domain. Although I had set up my smtp as sprintpcs.com I had my Sprint Vision password incorrect. Once the tech reset my password outgoing emails now work fine.

8525 roadrunner email

Has anybody been able to send/receive roadrunner email. I can't even do it at a wifi spot. I've put in the right settings but no go. I've heard that roadrunner might not send to a different ip.
I've also tried to use t-zones and have been unsuccessful with that as well. If anyone uses t-mobile usa with an 8525 and have got it running t-zones and email retrieval I would appreciate any info before I spend hours with clueless customer support.
sending email
I dont use Tmobile, but I can tell you that with ATT you have to send out using their smtp, not the rr smtp. I suspect that you have the same problem, check the Tmoblile settings and you will likely see that all outgoing have to use the same settings.

Can't send POP e-mail...

Receiving from my ntl account works fine, but when I try to send something it complains about a possible problem with coverage and/or account settings...and yet everything looks the same as it does in Outlook where, incidentally, it works fine.
Is it possible to import an account with its settings from where I have it in Outlook? Just in case I have missed something after all...

Are you on Wifi or GPRS/UTMS?
If you are using your phone network you might need to use their outgoing server. If you can give a little bit more info, I might be able to help.
This is over HSDPA on my contract WAP. I know of no outgoing server info for Vodafone but I could be wrong...
Just as an aside, do you know why my X1 tries to connect to 'Business Email' whenever I turn it on?
Thanks
*Update* - Email sent fine over the Activesync connection...hmmm. Any ideas?
Uk Vodafone should have send.vodafone.net as the outgoing SMTP address.
Not sure why Business Email should be connecting, unless you are using their own Push Email solution.
Awesome, you sir are a genius. Thank you!

I don't have their email but continually get this screen trying to connect me to Business Email - I have to cancel it two or three times to get it to GO AWAY. It is one the many reasons I think we are going to part company.

The Business Email APN is another one of these locked settings. In the reg you should be able to unlock it, and then remove it via Connections.
If you aren't using it, then you should have no worries.

What is the 'reg' - it is SO annoying. It's going back later this week - I've had enough!

CSIPsimple instructions

Can someone place tell me step by step on how to use this program? I am trying to be able to make phone calls from my SGT and have download Google Voice/callback and CSIPsimple....
Do I make up my own phone # when trying to setup using sipgate????
HELP!!!!
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy Tab
Not sure what you mean about creating your own phone number. The DID is normally provided by your SIP provider.
I am using my Callcentric account with CSIPsimple and the setup was pretty straight forward.
As with any SIP connection, you are going to need
username:
password:
gateway:
proxy:
Once you register with the server, your tab will be ready to make SIP calls.
im using a sipgate number as my google voice black..installed fring app and configured the sip addon in there.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
edit google voice call back.
Is there any one "best" way to do this? I'm using the hacked skype and google voice. I'd like to be able to click on the hyperlink phone numbers on websites and call, but it wont do that. It tells me the dialer is disabled.
CSIPSIMPLE not working on galaxy note ...
Hi there ... can someone pls confirm that csipsimple can still be used to access MJ accounts? I read somewhere that MJ recently blocked SIP usage on mobile devices; if this is the case, pls let me know as I am starting to get mental cramps from making this thing work on my samsung note.
thks!
