That´s impossible but you can make backup with sw like SPB Backup, program backup complete settings with programs, registry entry ....

I-Mate Jam Stops to receive SMS !!!

I need help my JAM stops to receive sms . I have try with 2 different rom versions (ma_cdlsku1_wwe_10300_143_10100_ship)& (ma_cdlsku12_wwe_10300_163_10100_ship) but the Hard Reset is the only solution.
The bad news are the recover (before & after the hard reset) not fix the problem .
Any help to recover my system or fix the [email protected] problem..
I have try all the backup software exept the new spb clone.
Thanks in advance …
Make sure that - if you're using Spb Pocket Plus - you add the SMS program to Exceptions under the Close button menu.

i dont have install it !!
mine does it too while in a game it comes up with the timer windows thing in the sqaure box till the txt is received so its not really a problem
The problem is Sprite Backup and that you have an old version at least older than 3.1.3! Older versions of Sprite Backup cause that problem after a restore! Try the latest versiom 3.1.4
nowt to do with that its just how the phone works as i dont even use prite backup
I had the same problem.
Finally I found out that the reason was ActiveSync.
To be sure try hard reset and then choose backup everything but sms folder (or even e-mail folder). And to get rid of that problem in ActiveSync settings mark not to syncronize e-mail (or something like that).

Full Back Up???

Dear Friends,
Is there a way to do a full backup from Wizard memory? I'd like a backup that if I have formated my Wizard, just use this back up to restore the way the moment that I backed up and then don't need install anything else case the back up will restore include the programs and settings.
Regards,
Fredy

I have used SPB Backup many times on both my MDAs. I have done this because of Flashing ROMs frequently without any problems. SKTOOLS is another backup app. Some of the ROMs have another Backup app which I have not used, so I cannot talk about them.
I also use PPCPimBackup to backup my Contacts and Calendar. It is free and can be found doing a search.
I've been using Sprite Backup for a couple of years now (since WM2002) and have been very satisfied with the product and the tech service.

Here is a site to check comments on both backup apps. This may help you to decide on what you would like to try. One is free the other costs.

Dear Friends, thanks both to answer my question.
I have one more doubt. Is these programs that you suggest do a full backup? Like as, I´ll click in one button in these programs and all my cell phone will be back up and then, when I format it, just click in another button in these programs and my cell phone will back to the point that I did the back up?
I´d like some program that do this way the back up.

Yes, I have flashed a new ROM or did a Hard Reset and then restored and it was back to what I had when I did the Backup.
I just click on one button to activate program, gives me option to do Full Backup, click on Yes, takes about 7-10 minutes then done and Reset. I store backup on my SD Card. To restore, just click on Backup file.exe and takes about 7 - 10 minutes. Very simple.
Dear Friend,
Then it´s exactly that I want. Can u send me this program?
Sorry, but what´s the name of this program?

Backing up/Cloning

I'm sure that all of you that are programing have had to restore your Phone back to a workable state.. was wondering which app would work to backup/clome my phone to a file that I could restore if things go totally belly up.. any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks
kobejim
clone = expensive
to clone : spb software house clone software
expensiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
if you hardrest yocan use to get exactly what u had before
but many backup cheap or free software : try SIP backup (sticky at this forum)
this only gets your contacts, messages, email..etc
but if you hard reset you loose all installed software
good luck

Your best try is to check excellent Backup bible by Menneisyys here. Commercial apps in that field are far superior to freeware/manufacturer issued backup utilities. If you only need PIM data backup then PIM Backup will do its job very well. It is also a good idea to have a dump of your original ROM backed up in case of warranty claims.
However use of backup utilities for migrating from one ROM to another is rather problematic (only Sprite Backup is capable of this and the results vary).
SPB Backup. Great tool, well worth the money.
WB
Because each month a new custom ROM is released, and I can't wait to test them, I use PIM Backup for contacts, messages, email.. and for useful software I want on my PPC, I just make a single CAB with WinCE Cab manager.

Before the hard reset use SBB Backup or Sprite Backup and save.
After hard reset, restore all your installations. For that restore, you don't need to pre-install SBB Backup or Sprite Backup.

[Help] Rom 1.66 and sms :(

I, i already searched a lot for my problem, and I do not know where exactly post my problem, so I'll post it here in hope for a litle help
Here it goes: I have update my wwe Leo to 1.66 rom a few days ago, and because I have tons of paches installed that I downloaded here ( by the way, thanks alot for your explendid work ) , I used SPB Backup to restore all the stuff.
When I finished to flash the phone, everything was fine, but after re-load the backup, the sms list has become a mess. When I open the sms list, the characters are HUGE, and I can't even read the text. I have put the character size to the minimum, and it does almost anything.... :'(
Is there a problem with the backup, or should I hard-reset the phone and install all the programs manually?
Thanks...

Yes, that´s the way.
What I would do is to hard reset your phone then restore th SPB Backup file as follows:
- Go to Customized Restore and click on it
- Then select PIM, Emails and My Documents
- DO NOT tick the System Data option
Restore as normal, soft reset you phone and see. Any problems, come back.
WB
Thanks a lot, I'll do it like that
It will be a mess to re-install all the programs, but it will be worth
