Hey everyone found this over at the Cyanogenmod Forum and just thought I would reference this work here on XDA. Currently his 3-29 build installing and will post in just a bit with input on how it runs. Have high hopes here. Please post your findings/bugs in the cyanogenmod forum as Buzzzard my see them and may be able to work them out. I take no credit for this Rom/Project.

Props goes to BUZZZARD for putting this together and Cyanogen and Team for all their hard work.
Finding:
Camera is 180 deg off when rotated.
Smooth and stable
Does not include Tablet tweaks in CM settings due to it is still not merged into source.
I put the latest rom on and i like it. Runs fast, just installed quadrant and got a score of 2157. It looks like standard CM7.
Nice find, running very smooth on rc3
Very cool - I see RC4 just came out today. I'm a wooter, brand new to android and the gtab - excited to get mine today!!!!
installed latest and runing just awesome. My only gripe is the sdcard/ mmc issue, but this is a known problem.
hate to burst your bubble, but CM7 for the Harmony is not RC3 yet.... if it doesn't appear here - http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=RC - it's not RC3.
until hw accel is working, and a few other minor things, it's not RC3 - I don't even think there's been an official RC2 from CM7....

If it's not officially supported, then why is it under the "supported devices" list at CyanogenMod.com?
Rc4 is supposed to have the hardware acceleration right?

Correct - it is supported, but until hardware acceleration is supported in Gingerbread there won't be anything past CM7 RC2.
Closing this thread as it's a link to a ROM by another dev on the CM forum and not the work of the OP.

I've used MIUI for the Atrix and the gaming issue is the only thing that bugs me. I'm curious if there is a particular reason for this. I know MIUI is built from CyanogenMod to an extent but I was wondering if there is a possible way to make a build that still had the theming functionality and the appearance of MIUI but with more of the CM7 frameworks. Basically I'm just asking if it's possible to make a stable hybrid rom between the two.
which MIUI version are you referring to?
I know that hardware acceleration is still not 100% done for MIUI V4 (ICS), but all games and themes works in older MIUI (gingerbread base)... at least for me on atrix and other android devices.
I have just tried the latest MIUI V4 2.3.16 from miui-us (posted by stevendeb25 in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721. This is based on CM9 so it may still lack in hardware acceleration for games and graphics.
Hope this helps
It was the last Gingerbread build. It had sound glitches and I had trouble playing Fruit Ninja and Draw Something. Fruit Ninja would lag for about a minute and Draw Something had force closes every time I loaded a new round.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I've used these apps with miui gb and v4 ics and they work with no issues on my atrix 4g.
maybe the falvor of your miui rom has something to do with it. Try the gb or v4 roms from Galnet or MIUI-US. Also check if any addons/apps related to the sound and graphic issues are installed.
Hmm... Maybe it's just me but I've had the problems with Fruit Ninja on every build but only just started playing Draw Something on the latest version. I think I'll wait patiently for a solid build of v4 before I give MIUI another shot. I love everything about the rom but I think I'll stick with the stability of CM7 for now. If they could just get that 2D issue worked out with ICS I'd happily switch over.

According to the dev's they are not updating GB builds any longer, they are focused on ICS now.
The latest build of the ICS MIUI ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721 ) has been great for me. No issues at all with Draw Something, or any other games or apps that I use. It might be worth a shot.
Hello there

CM9 does not support any HardWare Acceleration at the moment, therefore no streaming video.
If video streaming is a must, use a CM7 ROM like Hellfire.

If you want to watch video, your best experience right now is probably going to be on the stock Kindle software, followed closely by a CM7 ROM. CM9 is a no-go, even with the new kernel, for watching video. Even if the video works, its just too buggy for now.

The quick answer to your question is as follows:
Stock kindle software uses a kernel (think of it like the heart of a rom) for the Android Gingerbread OS since it is in fact a modified build of Android Gingerbread. Up until recently the CM9 builds available have been also running a gingerbread kernel, however in recent days a community developer named Hashcode has produced a Kernel that is supposed to be for an ICS rom, this kernel is version 3.0 with some other numbers after it that I forget, often it is referred to as 3.0 anyways. Basically the 3.0 kernel lets us do on ICS what we can on Gingerbread, watch Netflix, Youtube, play games requiring a little more than standard graphics, etc...
Given that the stock OS is being developed by amazon and has been worked for the device you best bet for the time being is to use the stock rom and possibly modify it with the android market if you desire. Read up on the forums about what's been going on.

I have been running the unoffical CM9 by jmztaylor since the first release. Has been the best for my phone at least and very good battery life. You should just try them out and go with the one that your phone has the best results with.
gummy worms is still a valid ics rom but you are gonna be lacking hardware accelleration (hwa) and camera/camcorder can work but also is being reported broken sooo yeah
the lastest of aokp is known for being full of reboots (but as a side note i have only had 1 reboot so far but has some graphical glitches with menu's but nothing to knock it down any so again beware it could be different on your phone) but b33 has been the strongest /most stable but is lacking the camera fix but there is a zip you can flash with it.
jamie has an ics rom with hwa but doesnt have the customization tweaks that you find in aokp but i have had ZERO reboots in my experinces there is a camera fix used in aokp will most likely work for you here to since they are based off the same (correct me if im wrong please)
decks i have little experience with the latest builds so i'll leave someone else to input on that
same iwth cm9 but its been comin to the party a bit later but i hear its stable and on its way to being a good daily rom for most and i think the camera works but no camcorder/panoramic(again correct me if im wrong please i havent run this particular one so im pulling that from memory of reading thread)
I installed the Unofficial CM9 and I was all good until its start freezing and rebooting

Swipers MIUI ICS is amazingly stable.
You can't beat it
I've been using Deck's builds as daily drivers for a while now not quite as many features as AOKP or CM9, but quite stable on my handset. YMMV of course.
With ANY of the ICS ROMs you're looking at feature incomplete alpha or beta level builds. So "stable" is a relative term.
Dark light version 3.5 has been the most stable on my evo, plus its all themed out in black and white.

KWIQ ICS is working for me
ben.nesheim mentioned jamie's rom, that is KWIQ ICS. I was running AOKP all through April and was liking the progress. I think after they added the HWA it got unstable for me on my phone so I ventured out and tried KWIQ. It just worked on my phone giving me everything I needed. I recently added the patch for the camera and now the only two things I am missing are front camera (would like to try Skype again) and 4g. I would be happy enough with this setup if this is all I ever got. I now have Chrome browser and all my apps I care about. I am one happy camper.
And Jamie has commented that he is making progress on an update to be coming out as soon as he feels it is stable.
AOKP here for a few days now. Everything works very well except Hulu and Netflix (haven't tried Youtube yet) and once in a while the camera app stops/freezes for a minute.
Everything else is butter.
In addition to the original question, do any of them have fully functioning camera (front and back) and camcorder?
I tried qwik ICS and it was stupid stable but didn't have working camera.
AoKP, run it on every device I have eexcept the photon cuz that POS is a pain to flash sh!t to so its stock rooted, but I have aokp on my Evo4g, kindle fire, Epic Touch 4g and my dads gNote

I've been using Lithium's MIUI rom and have also tried the Unofficial CM9. The MIUI rom has been stable for me and runs smoother then CM9.
Camera ICS in the Market will give you rear cam up to 8MP and video. None of them have FFC yet
aokp35 has been working great with the ics camera and will try camcorder in a bit
Hi everyone ! i was using AOKP EaglesBlood ICS 4.0.3 it feets my G2X pretty well, then I've installed newest version which is AOSP EaglesBlood 4.0.4 and there starts too many bugs with my phone like:

Now that you have been reccomended every ICS rom for the evo. Lol.
My oppinion: Download teamdirt's cm9 and AOKP Milestone 5. (Milestone 5 can be found on the aokp website) Try out both roms, starting with AOKP.
Reason: I work using my phone for GPS and, on average, 15 calls and 25 texts a day. This means that if I flash a rom, it gets the full daily driver test.
That being said, AOKP was smooth, fast, battery efficient, and even easier to use And navigate. My only problem was random hot reboots.
Cm9 was somewhat choppy at times, but comparable to AOKP. NO REBOOTS!
Final verdict: Decks Reloaded. Lol. I couldn't decide so I went back to Gingerbread.
Reloaded from my Decked out evo using XDA
I know it is not differnet than the fxp builds but it is the official final version so it should be good. I am flashing it right know, when its finished i will share my experiene. Has anyone tried it yet?
Okay what i can say for know is that its awesome. Everything (not xperia play related) is working fine and even the performence seems to be a little better. Not as good as CM10 but better.
Just flashed it a while ago, and currently those games like Bruce Lee and Crash Bandicoot doesn't work. I think the kernel is the problem (maybe?). Currently, the kernel flashed here is the freexperia one.

No, it's the game not the kernel. There is a gamepad fix (that fxp nor cm ever put it) that fixes some games, but there will always be some games that will never work past stock (aosp based roms) and since devs have no access to that source they won't be fixed
Has CM9 reached the speed of CM7 yet? The last time I tried it was FXP128 and it's just SO SLOW in comparison to CM7. Opening apps happens lightning fast on cm7 and takes a fair while on CM9. Even thing like opening the recent apps popup takes far too long on CM9. Is any of this improved?

Well, it will never be as fast as gb because it's a huge ram hog, but it is in no way slow at all. cm10 is coming along nicely, so you could wait for that if you like

I too thought it was something to do with RAM but the avail. RAM reported in CM7 is around the same as CM9. CM9 said 353 and CM7 says 357.
I took this from "about phone" in the settings, I'm assuming that's available RAM AFTER system use so I don't think RAM is causing the speed issue.
I don't know, but I don't like the CM9. CM10 is much faster and has higher/smoother FPS.
For me:
CM7 vs CM9: CM7 win.
CM9 vs CM10: CM10 win.
CM7 vs CM10: CM7 win for Gaming, CM10 win for Appearance + Features.
Just sharing my thoughts

Nope. Work for me. I used stable and RC.
Bad, the WiFi issue pisses me off (few days of usage) then I get the WiFi loop, I avoid CM9 based roms now, I'm using CM10.
Which is the best (and most stable) ICS Rom? From what I've been reading, it's between "CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC2" and Mimicry 1.4.0.
The CM9-RC2 is a bit off putting because CM9 is now stable, except for us with Desire Z's, so does that mean the best we're going to get is the CM9-RC2? Does the RC2 build here include the latest from CM9-stable that was recently released?
Mimicry, on the other hand, I've read includes the CM9 stable but I think that's only for 1.4.1, which is still in testing phase, so again that means that 1.4.0 is the only stable release for it at the moment.
Meanwhile, CM10 is too beta for me to even consider at the moment.
by the way it's "CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC2" Unofficial not just "CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC2" as it doesn't come from the Cyanogenmod team. The unofficial one is just a port by Jerl92 who just happened to use their name for it. Mimicry is just as much a CM9 port as the rest (but least he takes the latest CM9 heads from their git when compiling new source).
But far as best, for me it's a toss up between Mimicry (Andromadus branch of CM9 sources) and EliteMod (which uses AOKP as a rom, but Jerl's CM9 kernel).
To clear up the confusion as to what constitutes CM9 stable, stated in the release post for 1.4.0 here.
CM9 has an official stable release and all those patches have been merged into Mimicry 1.4.0. This is still a beta release, since we suffer from unofficial drivers and such, but it may be as close as we get for AOSP ICS.

i've use a CM9 , (works good, with one or 2 small bugs )
Mimicry, the best
I'm using Mimicry 1.4.0, but I've used many others roms, in the recent past.
This is, by far, the best ICS rom, for me: smooth, stable and beautiful.
even essmersi
at this time i"ve use a testbuilds of JB and ICS..
and its faster and smoother than CM9.
But have bug with camera..

Mimicry 1.4.0 is about perfect. For me it's just the first custom ROM after stock gingerbread with sense. I don't regret at all having lost htc sense, the phone is faster and ics with nova Launcher has enough eyecandy and shortcuts by itself.

First custom ROM I tried was Andromadus Audacity beta4 which was very good, but after some time I switched to Andromadus Mimicry which is even better imo. I've used Mimicry 1.1.2, 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 and I can highly recommend it.
Few days ago I switched to Andromadus test builds (by Flinny) which is CM10 Jelly Bean. So far that also seems very good though there are some bugs. The only really annoying bug for me that I've noticed is that the Fn button on the hw keyboard doesn't work at all for me, so I can't use the hw keyboard for any numbers or special characters (I have the scandinavian hw keyboard).

I usually hold it when using it. Have tried both ways holding and without. Still doesn't work. Though now I noticed that it does work with few keys. Fn only seems to work with @, æ and ø to produce ~, ? and !, but doesn't work with any other key. So I can use Fn to produce ~?! and I don't even have to hold it, but I can't get any other special characters or numbers with it.

I just updated from Flinny's build 85 to 92 (the newest atm) and now Fn works almost normally. I can write all special characters (yay \o/) with Fn but now it sticks even if I press it only once (not twice and not holding). So now if I press Fn (and release) it stays on (like caps lock on PC) until I press it again two times. Normally after one press it would just affect the next key press but not the following after that.
And strangely it seems to be the same problem with shift keys now.

There is no such thing as a best Rom, each rom meets the needs of users in diffrent ways, best advice try lots of diffrent roms and find one that suits you.
Please no more what is the best rom threads.
