As of this day I can only use my Tab in vertical view. Does anyone know a solution so my Tab will be able to switch (rotate) from vertical to horizontal view? I have the rotation lock off. Thanks for helping me out.

Do you use a custom rom?
there is possibly a setting stuck... do you have experience with adb? you can use logcat to find out what happens if you switch orientation lock off and on and if you get errors when you (physically) change orientation of the tab...
does it only make problems with the homescreen or in every app?
I have the standard rom. Only You Tube can I view in horozontal mode. I have tried setting the rotation lovk on, and off and shaking my Tab, all to no avail. I have no experience with adb. My Tab is rooted and I have a terminal emulator program installed.

Flashed euro rom 2 days ago. Everyhing worked fine til this morning. It's stuck in portrait mode. Can't find settings to change it. Tried rebooting and it didn't work. Googled and found no answers. Anyone have a suggestion?
Have you checked the orientation lock? If you look at the pull down notification bar, it should be one of the buttons (its the one on the far right on my tab, it should be the same for you).

Don't worry. Happened to me too a while ago. Spent a few days uninstalling and reinstalling stuff that I thought might be causing it...turns out it was the lock.
im stuck in portrait mode
orientation lock works but im stuck in portrait mode regardless of how its set
movies still play in landscape mode but nothing else is landscape
ive only had the device for a couple of days so it cant be a hardware issue and ive never touched any system files,
can this be fixed or has anyone else experienced this?
edit:
fixed with a hard reset
(i think it was launcher pro that caused it but not totally sure)
My galaxy tab screen won't rotate. I'm using Launcher Pro, the Orientation Lock wasn't on and I have no idea what the problem is. If anyone could help me or point me to the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
If you havent. Try rebooting. Also settings/display settings/calibrate
try locking and unlocking orientation

I tried rebooting, lock and unlock screen orientation, although I can't find calibration in display setting.

i had the same problem with launcher pro, stuck in portrait mode, i uninstalled the app then reset the device by holding power key for 8 secs, that fixed it and no data or apps were lost
There's two orientation locks if you're using launcher pro. One for the tab itself in the pull down bar, one in launcher pro setting menu.

I think I will try that today, since nothing else seems to work.
The auto rotation option in launcher pro is check, and the screen orientation lock in the pull down menu is not locked.
Well, I ended up just do a factory wipe and it is working now.
Thanks guys.
Am I the only one who has this bug after upgrading?
When other apps try to launch a default app, the screen just dims and the other app doesn't start.
For instance, i click on a link in an app which would normally launch the browser - the screen just dims but the browser doesn't start.
Or in the file browser, if i click in an mp4 the screen just dims and the video player doesn't start?
Very bad.
Rotate screen. Rotate back.

This has been discussed at length in several threads.
The issue is if you have multiple apps that can provide the service (ex. show an image or play a movie) available the dialog asking which one to use does not show. There is some sort of issue with the geometry preventing this dialog from appearing. There are 2 ways I know of to fix this. One is to rotate the screen from landscape to portrait, or portrait to landscape. This will work until your reboot the device. The second method is do the rotation and select a set app as default on the dialog asking you which app to use. The next time an app is needed to display an image or play a movie it will select this one.
That's some weird bug, which I would haven't found since i lock rotation.
Also, I had just turned the device on when it happened, so rebooting might not help?
But thanks it worked.
But was it new with 3.2?

Type *#0*# on your dialer and look for sensor then image test if it rotates your are good. If not have to check your luncher settings.

If you have deleted Samsung HUB you have to reflash your ROM, reinstalling HUB won't fix it has to be reflash. Once it's back, freeze it and rotation should be OK :good:
Both thanks for the reply!!
Tried all but did not have any effect.
Last but not least I got out the battery and sim card.. Put it all back in and started the note.
Rotation is back. Only homescreen, appdrawer won't rotate.

They don't rotate by default (unless you have enabled in GB/XB or Wanam) - it's possible if you have enabled it, there is a conflict hence no rotation of home/drawer.
