Type *#0*# on your dialer and look for sensor then image test if it rotates your are good. If not have to check your luncher settings.

If you have deleted Samsung HUB you have to reflash your ROM, reinstalling HUB won't fix it has to be reflash. Once it's back, freeze it and rotation should be OK :good:
Both thanks for the reply!!
Tried all but did not have any effect.
Last but not least I got out the battery and sim card.. Put it all back in and started the note.
Rotation is back. Only homescreen, appdrawer won't rotate.

They don't rotate by default (unless you have enabled in GB/XB or Wanam) - it's possible if you have enabled it, there is a conflict hence no rotation of home/drawer.

I installed the froyo beta, and ever since then, my phone won't auto rotate anymore. Ive already ODINed back to stock, it still wont work Any ideas or help?
-Edit-
I downloaded Accelerometer Test to make sure that the accelerometer wasn't busted. It's working fine. The phone just will not rotate.
Only two things I can think of:
1: Go to settings > Sound and Display > Make sure Orientation is checked.
2: (If using Launcher Pro). Menu button while on homescreen > Preferences > Behavior Settings > make sure Enable Auto-rotation is checked.
Other than that, no idea :\

On stock, the homescreens wont rotate unless the keyboard is slid out.
Is it rotating on the browser and on pictures?

No. And if i slide the keyboard out, it rotates. But then it gets stuck in landscape unless i go to something that forces portrait mode, such as the home screen.

Ah if its even getting stuck in landscape mode than its got to be something framework or .apk related.
Beats me, sorry man :\ Hope someone is able to help you more so than I could.

This worked for me but I'll take no responsibility if it mucks something else up
1. Download a terminal app from the market
2. Enter one line at a time.
su
/system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha
3. Follow the onscreen directions, while making sure you device is flat.
pay attention to the bump at bottom on back.
I hung said bump off the edge of table
I preformed this AFTER flashing to stock and then flashing my former ROM.
So it was not done in 2.2"

THANK YOU! I had the same problem and this fixed it. Of course, i had to root my shizzle again. By chance did anyone with this problem run the Froyo 2.2 built-in calibration before this came about?
Oh wow, thank you so much!! The fix using the terminal emulator totally worked for me too, I thought I was going to have to go back to stock to see if it would fix itself! After running the lines in the terminal, it still wouldn't automatically detect orientation, so went to the display settings, unchecked orientation, and checked it again, and now works perfectly! The lack of orientation was so frustrating, especially after using the keyboard and the only way to fix it was turning off the screen... thanks again!
Does this increase the speed of rotating in froyo beta cuz i noticed the rotating is really slow

This helped for me. I was having the slow rotation problem as well. This fixed it. I didn't see results right away though. Took a few minutes and a restart to work

Just wanted to bump this. I had issues with auto rotation broken after going to DK28 and downgrading back to DI18.
I didn't test if it fixed it or not, however it did remove the annoying lag on DK28 when the screen rotates. Only reason I was downgrading
What terminal app did you use?
It says "su" is not found

Flashed euro rom 2 days ago. Everyhing worked fine til this morning. It's stuck in portrait mode. Can't find settings to change it. Tried rebooting and it didn't work. Googled and found no answers. Anyone have a suggestion?
Have you checked the orientation lock? If you look at the pull down notification bar, it should be one of the buttons (its the one on the far right on my tab, it should be the same for you).

Don't worry. Happened to me too a while ago. Spent a few days uninstalling and reinstalling stuff that I thought might be causing it...turns out it was the lock.
im stuck in portrait mode
orientation lock works but im stuck in portrait mode regardless of how its set
movies still play in landscape mode but nothing else is landscape
ive only had the device for a couple of days so it cant be a hardware issue and ive never touched any system files,
can this be fixed or has anyone else experienced this?
edit:
fixed with a hard reset
(i think it was launcher pro that caused it but not totally sure)
My galaxy tab screen won't rotate. I'm using Launcher Pro, the Orientation Lock wasn't on and I have no idea what the problem is. If anyone could help me or point me to the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
If you havent. Try rebooting. Also settings/display settings/calibrate
try locking and unlocking orientation

i had the same problem with launcher pro, stuck in portrait mode, i uninstalled the app then reset the device by holding power key for 8 secs, that fixed it and no data or apps were lost
There's two orientation locks if you're using launcher pro. One for the tab itself in the pull down bar, one in launcher pro setting menu.

I think I will try that today, since nothing else seems to work.
The auto rotation option in launcher pro is check, and the screen orientation lock in the pull down menu is not locked.
Well, I ended up just do a factory wipe and it is working now.
Thanks guys.
I have a Note 3 and suddenly out of nothing the keyboard changed template and instead changing languages by long pressing+sliding the space bar it now shows a globe icon wich must be pressed to select the language.
I have already messed with all possible settings in order to go back to the space bar method wich is much faster with no success.
I know it worked on the space bar way until a few days ago, and I see there was a Samsung Keyboard Update wich was installed.
Have someone here the same issue ? Anyone knows if it is possible to go back to the previous behavior ?
Thanks for any help on this.
Me too having same problem
I actually got the swipe for different language. but all of a sudden the globe appeared. i seriously dont know what i did. tried resetting keyboard settings. nothing works. thebutton takes spaceand irritating while typing.
Same here, it working fine. but suddenly have globe icon and everything mess up... then few days lster, keyboard suddenly back to normal and everything is fine again. This happened couple times and each time it last few days. Anyone know why and how to solve this permanently? Thanks for your help. ..

OK so I noticed that when I turn off the accessibility of my Pebble app (I have a Pebble watch) under settings, I can swipe the spacebar to change the input language but right when I turn on the accessibility of my Pebble app, I can no longer swipe the spacebar. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Thank you luckybun.
It worked for me, only the accessibility setting was for FBQuickview (that works with the Galaxy Gear). I disabled it under the accessibility setting and the spacebar started working again as a language changer.

OK! But...
I have 7 apps in accessibility list... And I DO want to use at least 4 of them...
Wristn - forwarding notifications to Sony SmartWatch
LastPass - filling passwords inside apps
NiLS Service - collect notifications in lock screen similar to iPhone
Desktop Notifications - forward notifications to browser plugins for Chrome and Firefox for displaying it at desktop
if I enable any of them, spacebar disables language switch function
I solved the issue by deactivating the Speed+ engine under Accessibility
For those that are using the navigation gestures. Have you noticed that the back button on the right or left stops working. Only gesture that works is the swipe home.
Everything is fine on my phone. Stock ROM, blu.spark kernel, rooted, OOS 9.0.5.
Haven't had any problems here either, working as it should the whole time
I am on stock 9.0.5 and it happens every once in awhile.

I've been using gestures nav since I got the device 2 days ago and so far I haven't had any issues with it.
I just had the issue 5 minutes ago. The back just stops working. I get the haptic feedback but does nothing. Only swipe to go home works. After I go home it starts working again.

No running stock dark theme. I went into recovery and cleared the cache.
How can I backup everything and do a factory reset? Then restore everything back.

That could be the app that you were running at the time. They can override the default behaviour of the back button. Can you remember what app you were using? I know for a fact I have a few apps that make you press back twice before they will exit.

The nice and quick "drag and throw" kind of gesture doesn't work in landscape, if that's what you're referring to. You just get the recent apps list and select the last app from there.

Yes, which is how you can bring up the recent apps list, but you can't do the quick throw gesture to toggle the last app, like you can in portrait.

I thought the same maybe it was one app causing the issue but it stopped working in different apps.

Too bad you can't do this with the Google gestures. With the Oneplus gestures I miss the toggle to turn screen off [emoji16]
I am wondering if Textra is the issue. Is anyone using Textra? Or is everyone using stock messaging app?
