My galaxy tab screen won't rotate. I'm using Launcher Pro, the Orientation Lock wasn't on and I have no idea what the problem is. If anyone could help me or point me to the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
If you havent. Try rebooting. Also settings/display settings/calibrate
try locking and unlocking orientation

I tried rebooting, lock and unlock screen orientation, although I can't find calibration in display setting.
Is a original android tab,i mean no one of those cheapversion on market???/

i had the same problem with launcher pro, stuck in portrait mode, i uninstalled the app then reset the device by holding power key for 8 secs, that fixed it and no data or apps were lost
There's two orientation locks if you're using launcher pro. One for the tab itself in the pull down bar, one in launcher pro setting menu.

I think I will try that today, since nothing else seems to work.
The auto rotation option in launcher pro is check, and the screen orientation lock in the pull down menu is not locked.
Well, I ended up just do a factory wipe and it is working now.
Thanks guys.

My Phone reboots by itself after a day since last boot, when I slide the unlock bar the screen freeze up an then reboots, after that, works fine for a day or two. Any idea what might be wrong? I got zapX rom with black glass theme.

Same thing happens to me.
Mine did the same. After a factory reset, no more problems. I hesitated a while knowing I would have to reinstall apps, but it was well worth it.

my phone does the same, its done it on OTA 2.2, flyX, apeX and Fission 2. motorola describes it as the phone going into a 'state of panic'. only solution i've found so far is to use 'no lock' so that i have no sliders, however now the screen comes on whenever i hit a button

I unfortunately can't recreate this. :S
But I wonder, if No Lock appears to alleviate the issue..
For those that want the lock screen, would something like WidgetLocker to turn off stock lock screen, and use WL's lock screen instead still resolve this?
Actually tried widget locker today in combo with no lock and that is working because its still not using the default lock screen. Been a good 12 hours now and reboot proof. Annoying but is a working work around.

Doesn't widgetlocker have an option to disable the stock lockscreen? Figured you could use it instead of no lock.. (??).
Maybe I'm wrong.
Any Solutions to this? How do you go about doing a Full Wipe, When I do the Factory wipe in recovery the problem still occurs.
Do you have to do something more where you un-root first?
Flashed euro rom 2 days ago. Everyhing worked fine til this morning. It's stuck in portrait mode. Can't find settings to change it. Tried rebooting and it didn't work. Googled and found no answers. Anyone have a suggestion?
Have you checked the orientation lock? If you look at the pull down notification bar, it should be one of the buttons (its the one on the far right on my tab, it should be the same for you).

Don't worry. Happened to me too a while ago. Spent a few days uninstalling and reinstalling stuff that I thought might be causing it...turns out it was the lock.
im stuck in portrait mode
orientation lock works but im stuck in portrait mode regardless of how its set
movies still play in landscape mode but nothing else is landscape
ive only had the device for a couple of days so it cant be a hardware issue and ive never touched any system files,
can this be fixed or has anyone else experienced this?
edit:
fixed with a hard reset
(i think it was launcher pro that caused it but not totally sure)
I've been experiencing this quite a lot
Surfing the net pressing home button and find the home screen reloads. So bit of a lag which is very annoying, until samsung sort this out with a software update there is a work around. Simply disable s-voice from.settings that's it. I haven't actually experienced screen reload since.
Let me know if this works for you or not.
Try this
Untick under s-voice settings the following:
Launch S Voice
Wake up command
Under application manager go to running select s-voice and stop all services.
Go to all and disable s-voice. This will remove the app from app draw list too, you can also disable chat on app too.
This should stop the app running in the background.
My mate has got this phone has has also experienced this problem a bit as well.
I was just wondering when you say 'disable s voice' do you just mean just disable s voice opening when double pressing the home button? Or is there a setting to actually turn it off?
Yer had same issue, disabled see voice, all good

I would also like to know this. I stopped s voice opening when I double tap home button. That fixed the home button lag, however, I'm still experiencing the ocassional reload of the home screens.

Another nice side effect is it makes the phone feel alot snappier because it removes the home button lag.
EDIT: should have refreshed the thread :/ mattyt_491 was faster.. I don't think there is a way to disable it completely (without rooting) I didn't have any reloads since I disabled the double click. Then again I restarted the phone and it usually takes half a day or so to start happening..

Guys don't get frustrated. As per thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694508&page=3, just set the size of dalvik cache to 128MB and everything will be fine. My personal experience, just perform these two extra steps:
1. Use Nova Launcher or Apex, takes less memory
2. Use 2D rendering from developer options, It does not make it slow at all.
3. From developer option, limit background processes to 4. Trust me you will not notice it.
4. And yes, disable S voice after you are done with initial experiment. Its not useful for anything.
And my phone is working snappier as it was when I opened the box. I will update it after few day's use. Running smoothly for 2 days. Today is third.

Why don't I have this problem? I think it's be ause I usually check what's open and close things. You should go into deb settings and have 4 processes max to test if it really is your memory or you just need to reflash.

I'm having the same problem.
Is rooting the phone and making these adjustments the only solution to this issue?
Switching off S-voice did work temporarily, but the problem has returned.
I'm new to andorid having just switched over from the dark side of iOS. Is Samsung likely to fix this in a coming update?
I find it hard to believe they didn't spot this in pre-testing the phone.
Thanks
I don't have this problem too. Strange.

Good afternoon!
My screen does not rotate anymore and i have been searching all over the place to find the source or/and solution.
Somebody seen/had/heard this problem before?
I think i tried everything.. Al the settings, rotate app. Please help?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Samsung note 3
Rooted
Buzz launcher
xposed + module (xblast tool-swiftkey)
Type *#0*# on your dialer and look for sensor then image test if it rotates your are good. If not have to check your luncher settings.

If you have deleted Samsung HUB you have to reflash your ROM, reinstalling HUB won't fix it has to be reflash. Once it's back, freeze it and rotation should be OK :good:
Both thanks for the reply!!
Tried all but did not have any effect.
Last but not least I got out the battery and sim card.. Put it all back in and started the note.
Rotation is back. Only homescreen, appdrawer won't rotate.

They don't rotate by default (unless you have enabled in GB/XB or Wanam) - it's possible if you have enabled it, there is a conflict hence no rotation of home/drawer.

For those that are using the navigation gestures. Have you noticed that the back button on the right or left stops working. Only gesture that works is the swipe home.
Everything is fine on my phone. Stock ROM, blu.spark kernel, rooted, OOS 9.0.5.
Haven't had any problems here either, working as it should the whole time
I am on stock 9.0.5 and it happens every once in awhile.

I just had the issue 5 minutes ago. The back just stops working. I get the haptic feedback but does nothing. Only swipe to go home works. After I go home it starts working again.

That could be the app that you were running at the time. They can override the default behaviour of the back button. Can you remember what app you were using? I know for a fact I have a few apps that make you press back twice before they will exit.

The nice and quick "drag and throw" kind of gesture doesn't work in landscape, if that's what you're referring to. You just get the recent apps list and select the last app from there.

Yes, which is how you can bring up the recent apps list, but you can't do the quick throw gesture to toggle the last app, like you can in portrait.
