i flashed 6.1 stable and i don't see any notification when i plug my usb to the computer. i went through every menu in the settings and don't see anything. whats the deal?
there should be a notification when you plug in. Slide down the bar and click on it. there you click on the button and it should mount your card.

Hi guys.
Quick question...
As per the title really.
As I was trying to get Tomtom working on my HD, I used to get the screen up that asked if I wanted to just use activesybc normally or show my SD card as a disk drive. As I was installing big map files onto it, I tapped the disk drive setting but I must also have tapped the don't show this message again box because it hasn't shown up since then
So anyone know where the setting are to change it back to normal?
And when i's connected to the PC, the backlight won't stay on for more than a second. Even though I've changed the power saving settings????
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance..
Go to Start/settings/Connection, and look for the USB to PC icon. Click on it, and check the activesync box.
Steve is right about going to Start/Settings/Connections/USB to PC
But to bring back the menu for selection you need to check the box at the bottom of the screen 'Ask me first about USB connection type when I connect the device to the PC'
Beards
Fantastic.
Thanks guys!
Any ideas about the backlight when I'm plugged in?

Window mobile has separate setting for AC and Battery when comes to the number of seconds before diming the screen. You should set them correctly. Check it again to see that you've got it right.
So just a minor annoyance with 2.1 Roms.
Anyone know how to get rid of the "USB Debugging is enabled" when you plug the phone into USB?
I mean other than the obvious turn it off.

If ur talking about the icon itself u can always make it transparent. I don't know how to get rod of it in the notifications.

yeah, I already hacked the Icon up --- made it a smiley face. Was hoping to be able to get rid of the whole notification. And disableing and renabling USB Debugging is waste considering how much I use it.
So the phone is at [Phone..!..Computer] screen and I have a couple questions.
1. Is the jig the only option at this point?
2. If it is and I fail with it, what upcoming dual core phone would you suggest?
Nope...pull the battery, connect your usb to pc, hold the volume buttons down, connect the usb to phone, put the battery in & you should be in download mode, then odin

I tried this several times but always pushed the power button as well. Just tried it again following exactly your directions and it worked. If you are ever in the northern part of Minnesota and want lunch it's on me.
No problem....mine has always been that way to and I bricked mine where it had no power no anything and tried it and it went right to download mode.
Glad you got it working..

This is the error I get when I plug in a USB cable. Doesn't matter if I'm just charging or transferring files. What is Plug & Pop? And why has it stopped?
It's the pop up that appears when you plug in headphones or charge phone. It appears at the bottom of your phone on your navbar. Mine had this error after I installed and used GMD Hide Navbar. I'm not sure but I think it may have gone away. It's definitely related to modifications you make to the navbar experience.

Ah, that makes total sense. Thank you. I did just install GMD. I wonder if there's a way to stop it from happening.
EDIT: I figured it out. There's a setting inside of GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys that spoofs Android into thinking the soft keys are visible.
I'm not 100% sure. But I'm using GMD still and it didn't crash the last 2 times I charged it. So, maybe do a full reboot, and give it a few days.
It started happening after I uninstalled maps and street view. I don't have GMD, whatever that is.

Oh that's a solution too.
Just a question for you - does that remove the headphone icon from the status bar or does this only remove the animation that occurs when you plug headphones or USB cable in.
Thanks.

Still shows headphone icon. Not near computer to check USB.
Ok, USB icon still shows too. And phone still vibrates when plugged in, just doesn't have that animation and pop sound.

Thanks for the quick response.
Really wish there was some way to get rid of the headphones icon. I know when I have headphones in - it's quite silly.
Thank you!

You're a lifesaver. I'm a fanatic when it comes to stupid little animations.
Hi guys,
I made Xposed Mod which fix this "Plug & Pop" FC. Give it a try, if you are using Xposed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549002
You can un-freeze it and see again all that animations and choices this LG tool offer.
Btw. I'm not using GMD, so I will be happy to hear if it work with GMD as well.
Same but different

I get this error if I plug in earphones and tap the "Edit" button from the menu that comes up.
Alternatively, If I got to Settings > General > Accessory > Earphone > Edit App Panel, I get the same message.
In summary, I am not able to edit the plug and pop earphone apps. Any ideas? My phone is not rooted.
UPDATE: Edit button in the USB plug and pop also has the same issue.
I've got the same issue. It's frustrating that there isn't much information on this online. That's the price we pay for not sticking to the more mainstream iPhones and Galaxys
Sorry for bump, but same message here, Xposed instaler modul from above is not working for me, any solution ?
P&P for USB is working but for earphone is not work got stop message, is no matter if I disable or enable Settings>Accessory> USB storage or Earphone ON or OFF is always same , USB working and earphone not.
My phone is rooted and for some minor fix use G2 TwaeksBox, it's KK 4.4.2 and LS980ZVC
Thanks
I've seen that a message pops up every time the flap cover is open (telling you to close it).
And just now I saw a YouTube video about the USB cover breaking on an S5 after only two months.
If this happens, would the message appear constantly or is there a way to turn it off in the settings?
For anyone interested, the YouTube video is from user adrianisen.

Message is independent of the USB cover status.

What does that mean exactly?
Pretty sure it doesn't have a way to tell if the cover is closed or not, it just pops up a reminder when disconnecting a cable

and when the phone is switched on.
So if the USB cover breaks in the future the message won't pop up constantly and only disconnecting the USB cable after charging?
Are you guys sure that the message doesn't pop in other circumstances?
Thanks.

Yup, forgot about that one. Sorry, I only had the stock rom for 2 hours after I got my S5, and the custom rom I'm running has the popup disabled, so there may be other triggers that I've forgotten about, but it DEFINITELY didn't pop up every time I opened the cover

And what about when the screen is turned off and you turn it on again? Will the message pop up then too?
And also when you disconnect the USB cable too right?
