Anyone know if any of the devs plan on releasing a pre-rooted deodexed and zipaligned version of EC05 without any customization? Basically near stock?

The one on the android central forums is the odexed rfs version. The one the op wants is a deodexed ext4 version.

I posted one that is only slightly modded from stock.. prerooted, deodexed, zipaligned, png optimized.. only thing is I don't have a stock dualfs kernel so it has visionkernel 1.1 and so it also has bootanimations.. its ext4, also has logprovider.apk fixed by k0nane to take the sms out of the call log. Updated bionic and libdvm by no2chem..

How do you deodex a rom? I'm runnin stock eb13 and I'm happy as a baby armadillo on an ant farm
But id really like the aosp lockscreen. I hav to be deodexed but I don't want to get off of stock samung.exe eb13 because I know the deodexed odin one has problems that I currently do not experience.
So is there a way to do it? If not, then whatever ima have to deal with it, but id really like to know please... :3

Try the one click root verision 3.0.0.6 i think? it did it for me.
There is a flashable deodexed eb13 in the development section. Been working great for me. I think mammon posted it.
Edit: dameon posted it, its about 30 threads deep in the dev section.

I wanna be DEODEXED on eb13 just so I could install the gingerbread theme. but I don't wanna be EXT4 because whenever my battery pop's out (for whatever reason) when the phone is not shut down, I have to recover it. Which is a pain in the @$$!
But rooted stock EB13 with the RTF or whatever it's called fileing system is very stable and works great.

I was wondering if its possible to use a rom from say EF02 and flashing it over top of the framework of the newest leak. Ive noticed that people have been using kernals from eg22 and things like that, Is that only because the kernal is external from the actual file system partition? Even eg22 themes seem to work on the new leak. Im using Srf1.2 with the new modem and its great, but there are still things i really miss about gingerbread. I was snoopinng around the Acs Bombozile rom postings on the ACS forums and people were talking like they had flashed than rom over the newer frame work and not just the modem.

i doubt you could just use the framework from one rom and the rest from another without heavily edited code, if you want gingabread just flash the lastest leak, eh06 is pretty stable.

What are the major differences between JVR and JVS?
I can just flash this over JVQ Continuum 6.2.1 correct? Nothing special as long as I'm on GB bootloaders right. Also.... is the reverse true for going back to a 2.3.4 ROM if soemthing should arise with instability? Just covering my ass in case of a bad flash or something.

Yes thats why this is CWM flashable, and since it has DC kernel u dont lose CWM to go back to you rom of choice

Correct. As usual captivate builds are a version behind I9000. When we get KH3 2.3.4 I9000 gets JVS 2.3.5
Hopefully this means were gonna see Apex with a JVS base.
Also is there any changelog that mentions changes between JVR and JVS.
Also I've heard the JVS modem has 850 enabled out of the box is this true?

I said GB bootloaders. you can have either of I9000 GB or captivate GB bootloaders
I think i have to buy a couple of capy´s to follow Watsa dev´s that way i can keep all the rom´s

It appears that this kernel will also run on KJ2. If you get stuck on boot or a bootloop try clearing dalvik.

To get init.d support, you must first flash the odin version above. Then the init.d version from recovery. No longer need to do the double flash for init.d support, and S99complete is no longer needed!

You can flash the normal boot animations, they all seem to work as advertised. If you remove /system/media/bootanimation.zip it will revert back to the stock boot animation.

I don't think I am going to do lagfix. It is much harder, leaves no/little room to tinker, and rfs feels plenty fast with the ondemand tweaks included in the kernel.

Just really trying to make sure I leave out any chance of something in the rom giving me a problem that could make me chase my tail. And I am boring, stock suits me well, I just tweak everything to my own liking.

From what I've read the only reason to deodex a ROM is to easily theme it. Odexed ROMs run smoother and load quicker, but require a LOT more to theme then deodexed roms. At least according to what I've read. Haven't been really using odexed ROMs to notice a difference yet.

As I was browsing other phone thread's for sheer boredom I came across this thread in the Epic 4g explaining how to convert a BML rom to MTD. I found it interesting and decided to post it here. I was thinking this could probably work for the Fascinate but I'm too chicken to try

There are much easier ways than that. If you guys have a touchwiz mtd kernel, just add /system from the bml rom to the mtd tw rom. If you guys don't though, you can't use stock based roms on mtd. Though, if epic has tw mtd, you guys should too.
