But in short.. no.. not yet.. The dev's have rooted the phone, but I don't think they've yet cracked the bootloader, so no custom rom's yet.

Htc has implemented many features which tighten the security of legend, which makes it lil complicated to root than some other phones.
Iam not sure if you can even revert back to the original ROM on legend once you root. Which would make you unable to apply updates provided by htc.
You shouldnt probably root if you do not really understand what they say, coz.. you might end up bricking your phone. If you dont mind taking the risk of killing your phone, you could give a try.
I've rooted my previous phone, samsung i5700. It was easy and it was great to have a good control over it, but as of yet, iam not going to take chance on my legend.

its so simple that you don't need any programming knowledge or xxxxxxxx still problem visit this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725430 and DOWNGRADE to 1.31 so that you can root for Legend 2.1 if u need help contact me......... even if u don't like custom roms and root benifits you can easily reroot and go for stock rom from htc....don't worry about bricking lots of threads are about unbricking the phone in xda , modaco , theunlockr............enjoy with the rooted phone.........

I would not have done it. Legend looks å lot better. HTC HD2 is optimized for WinM. And i dont think everything works equal well with Froyo on that phone.

I just bought my HTC Magic. And i just realised that it's android 1.5 and there is no official 2.1 or 2.2 release and it's the 32A version.. I had a HTC Diamond before and i flashed it to different ROMs many times with HardSPL.. Now i dont know how to Flash my HTC magic do i need to root it or something before please help guys!

Check out this link in the general section. Go into fastboot (back + power) and copy down all of the numbers you see for SPL, Hboot, etc. Then just follow the links in the instructions above as long as they apply to your device. Or check out the wiki in the links stickied above in the developers forum.

Hey, I have readed for solutions, and downgraded method that there is in this forum is valid for Desire no for Wildfire, my question is.... It will have solution for guys kile me with froyo 2.2 and get root for a new revolked or it will be imposible? Thanks for all, and happy new year
Its unknown yet, and, theres no ETA. You will just have to be patient and wait.
Hello, i was stupid in upgrading to 2.2 ..now there is no way to root..but let me ask if i can back to 2.1 android and then root it..with unrevoked?

regarding ur question,
downgrading from 2.2 to 2.1 and then rooting is possible for htc legend. it is not possible for wildfire. UNFORTUNATELY, wildfire with official 2.2 cannot be rooted for now. hope it will be rooted in the future
