Im using darkstone's android version on my htc hd2 tmobile 1024mb with 2.12 radio, hspl 3, newest chucky rom gtx lite and every once in a while my phone would freeze up for about 10 secs then resume functioning. This is very annoying and frustrating so i was wondering what can i do to fix this?
mine does it too with a completly different rom..
i think it is because when the screen is off it goes into a "sleep" mode where the cpu gets throttled back to save battery..
when you push the button it takes a few seconds for the cpu to load everything up and resume the phone..
its probably because your loading everything off the sd card and its alot slower then the inernal memory.

this is a known issue on all builds thus far.
try disabling autorotation in display settings. this fixes it for some but not for others (me)

Some people say problem is less when they calibrate g-sensor in winmo before started android
I've had this issue on every build as well. Usually for me it gets worse progressively to the point I have to un-install or add a different build. Thankfully when it happens there's a build that is released that I haven't tried.
mines done the same on all builds tested and I am constantly changing it, but downloading 160MB every 3-4 days is getting a little old... I'm going to look into a faster micro SD card..
I had freezing issues like everyone else but mine was when i restarted the phone at once it loads up it would freeze at the first sync. Other times would be during any game play or any cpu intensive app. i found it to be a combo of things. i realize that the sync freeze was due to the hd2 trying to grab all my 120 emails for the gmail app. so i went and deleted al my emails and it hasn't freeze since. i also disable full weather animation, turn off all unneeded sync like stocks, news, and disable any sense widgets that i did not need, also turn service provider to manual and not auto. My phone hasn't freeze once in 5 days ( fingers crossed) versus 3 or 4 per day before i did this. hope it helps someone

Just got a G1 yesterday with a cracked front screen for £15 loaded up SuperF 1.0 from here benbuchacher.com
device is rooted etc got the custom recovery menu installed but it seems pretty slow.
For instance it must take going on a minute plus to boot to the home screen, then some apps freeze and give me the wait or end message.
I've used setcpu to up the cpu it does seem a little faster but nowhere near the same as the standard rom.
can anyone advise me on whats the best/fastest rom to use?
also how can i get rid of the t-mobile bootscreen on startup?

Wow really that long? I just tested it. It was exactly 1 minute from power up to lock screen.
humm .I have never turned.mine off other then going into recovery. So no big deal to me.guessna minute or so
It was exactly 1 minute
42.39 seconds timed with the stopwatch on my phone, vibrate to unlock screen.
To the OP, I'm not sure it should take 2 minutes too boot?!?!?
Yeah thats why I posted this thread.. Im running custom 3.2, richardtrips 3.4 kernel, got bout 1 gig of space left on the internal SD card.. What can cause the boot time to be so long?

1Gb space left?!?!? What the heck do you have on your tab. I've got tons of apps and have 11.59Gb free.
If a lot of it is music, movies, etc., you might want to store them on your external? Just a suggestion.
Boot up with same set up
Running the Taboonay 2.0 (Android 3.2) and richardtrips 3.4 kernel. Get to the lock screen in 52 seconds. Have 9.51 GB of space left. Maybe not the same ROM. Which custom 3.2?
I have a similar issue, mine takes more than 2 minutes and using stock 3.2 ROM, no mods or anything. Does anybody think his can be caused by an installed app?
I have the same issue, with about 2gb free... Doesn't really bother me though

All the bloatware that comes installed stock on the tab slows it down considerably. What many custom roms do is rip out a lot of the bloatware so there are less running services, which means both a smoother experience while turned on, and faster start-up/shutdown times. Which is why you see some people getting sub-1 minute boots.
@op, what custom rom are you using? You stated that you're using a custom kernal, but if it's not made for the rom you're using, then you can run into problems, a longer boot time more than likely being one of them.
Yes, you are starting something that is causing your problem. However, I would suspect it's something outside the normal apk applications. Normal apk applications are forced to timeout after so many seconds and killed by the engine. So, something taking too long to load normally is killed and you are shown an error about the program. Since you're not mentioning seeing errors, I would suspect an application outside the normal user interface. Just a guess.
In the past, I've seen this were the Linux kernel is trying to init hardware you don't have which waits for a timeout to occur.
Ever since the latest update (which I totally love), my phone takes over 4 minutes until the startup splash screen disappears, and then another 1.5 minutes until things are useable and not jittery. It used to take half as long before the update. Aside from the dreaded wipe and reinstall everything, is there any other solution? Is there a software that will log what is taking long during startup? My phone is not rooted.
Anyone else notice their startup time doubling?

If you're talking about sense 3 then yes. It is a heavy update and i believe heavier than previous sense that is why you're facing this problem. If you want speed, get custom sense roms...and you won't have this problem.
Official roms are full of junk, for people because not everyone uses everything so to provide every use of the device, official rom provides heck a lot of services, apps to the users but no one uses all of them that is why it takes time to load all of them when in custom roms, bloat is removed so that users can enjoy the speed.

had the same issue, had to hard reset and its super snappy now
I was really hoping to avoid a hard reset, and all the hours involved reinstalling the apps and changing app and system settings.
Hello there, new to the forum so i'll put it straight. Thumbs up for all u guys trying to improve all our devices.
So let's get starting. My SGS GT 9000 is running very slow since i updated it. Now running Gingerbread 2.3.6 with i9000XXJW4 baseband and when i start just the facebook app (after a fresh restart) my phone starts to slow down, it takes up to 30 seconds to display the news feeds, more than 30 seconds to load a photo (even my old optimus one runs better). I have no other apps running in background (just did a quick reset to factory) so where seems to be the problem. Is there is any issue with the new update or i don't know something that i've missed please let me know. Also I don't know if i have to provide you any other info about my phone but if is needed i'm here
What is to be done, 2 taps, 2 apps and phone almost crashes (had skype and what's app and when i started fruit ninja screen got black and voila - needed restart) I don't really wanna root my phone since iv'e seen some guys here experiencing great improvements after this (but if that is the case than wtf )
