Themes for Stock EC05?? - Epic 4G General

Okay so will any of the themes work on a stock EC05?? For example will a midnight Theme that works for his Custom ROM based EB13 work for a stock EC05 just the same?? Just curious.

All I can say is the themes for eb13 work on bonsai based on ec05 just fine. Make sure the stock ec05 you have is deodexed though or none will work. If you used the update.zip they wont work

Tried honeycomb them. It got stuck on samsung logo. I'm going to assume gingerbread won't work either

Gingerbread theme didn't work for me. It booted but I got a bunch of force closes, no signal and the phone kept vibrating. Glad I made a backup before flasing.

Listen........if you guys are on stock ec05 that rom is odexed. You need a deodexed stock ec05. I.think konane has a flashable deodexed ec05. Themes work on bonsai 4.0.0 on ec05 cause its deodexed.
Edit: nevermind konanes flashable is odexed too.

Thats funny. I had gingerbread working for me on bonsai 4.0.0. I am now on EC05 via the update.zip for DI18 and I'm deodexed.

so you are saying you updated.ziped a DI18 deodexed to EC05 and it remained Deodexed? I'm just trying to figure out because all i want is a EC05 Deodexed rfs or deoexed/Pre-rooted rfs rom and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

[Poll] What modem are you using?

Also with which build froyo or GB?
Ec05 on both counts. Ec05 plus and the ec05 clean kernel. I've had little luck w GB leaks so I'm waiting on an official (w source) release. With most of the newer roms I experience wake lock.

I had a horrible time with EF roms, but after the EG22 came out everything is everything!
I haven't had any complaints and the phone is running pretty damn good.

Rodderick already has a froyo dual boot kernel. In that thread he also mentions when official drops he'll make a dual boot gingerbread kernel. Also I think mkasick has been working on being able to dual boot srf and cm7 somehow.

The requirement will be having a kexec-patched kernel installed to flash. Right now that means an EC05-based ROM in flash, and I think the only patched kernel right now is the test kernel I posted in the kexec thread, which is RFS only.
CM7 will be fully on the SD card, including both the ROM and kernel. It will be booted from EC05 recovery by applying an update.zip.
Never ran srf but that'll be awesome, the cm7 is looking great too so can't wait to see what it all looks lik

EL30 to FC09 Flashable Modem Delta update.

Thanks to mkasick for making kexec possible on the Epic 4G, an to DRockstar for CWM5, and to bickman2k for testing the zip(ps, it works)
Downloads:
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/04/el30-to-fc09-cwm-zip.html
Instructions:
For BML:
Flash the zip in CWM if you just want to update your modem while on BML and with the EL30 modem. As long as you have the EL30 modem already and are on BML partition you will not lose any data or root.
For MTD:
CM7 nightlies, CM9, and any other MTD kexec supported kernels which is just about all. Go to the following post, then come back here for the modem flashable, and flash my zip in the BML CWM:
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/01/boot-cwm5-bml-from-sdcard-no-flash.html
For those on FB15 Rom or Modem, you need to go to EL30. Rodderik has the stock tar and modem here:
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/02/el30-factory-firmware-image.html
And Odin 1.85:

Modem is still new, so how it works is still largely unknown. Best way to find out is to try it. Make sure to follow instructions carefully.

I bet they stopped modem development after EL30. Wasn't messing with the modem what contributed to random reboots on the leaks? They probably feel they got it as best as they could and the delta changes the baseband number.

[RADIO] ICS 4.0.4 OTA - Official Radios

Here ya go guys, come gram 'em.
These are the CDMA/LTE radios for ICS on the Thunderbolt.
You need these to run any ICS rom for the Thunderbolt which uses the Official base.

Repacked into a smaller zip, same radios: LINK

Im a noob. I don't know these things, thats why I ask. =)
I just loaded these up, so far so good.
I don't have access to 4G in the building I'm in, but I seem to be pulling 3G just fine. Despite this, twisted's rom is reporting 1x now... weird. I'm sure it's just being reported wrong, as the speeds are as good (or better) than usual.
EDIT: after a (self-performed) reboot or two, the signal indicators are now being reported properly.
Thanks. Installed on ICY-S 8.5RC4 by MaceksMod. :good:
Only ever get 2 bars on LTE at my house and hitting 6Mbps with Speedtest app.
Added flashable kernel to the OP.
It is for Sense roms only......

Not really "AOSP desensed" as that implies that you are removing Sense and coming out with an AOSP ROM. AOSP, yes, but not desensed. But yeah, I'd love to see what happens with it on AOSP myself, even though I just switched off my TB.
Does anyone have the stock ROM I can flash? No sim card = no OTA.

It is going to be another day maybe two. Just be patient. It takes time to turn a ball of patches and turn it into the rom.

Yeah I've been here since the the Thunderbolt was released it doesn't take that long to go from OTA to rooted rom. Plus he can just post the non-rooted version so other devs can be working on it.

Yes, I was talking pure OTA Stock ROM. I was under the impression that one could just post a ROM dump and I would go on flashing like normal.
