How exactly do I check the TWS status?

It stands for Time Without Signal
Settings>About Phone>Battery Use>Cell Standby
If its higher than 50% you haz the bug. To get it back to normal hold down the power button and put it into airplane mode for 15 seconds and then put it back to normal. You have to do this anytime you power off or reset the phone. The change will not be instant. Some people say it does not affect battery life but I've developed a habit of resetting it and feel that it does make a difference.

Cool thanks, I just checked mine. It's at 23% and I'm in an area in my house where I hardly get any signal.

I previously had the bug. Then I updated to EC05 from DL18. I didn't like it, so I odin'd to EB13. After that, I haven't experienced the bug.
Tl;dr Updating to EC05 then using odin to EB13 seems to fix it.

Doubt that fixed it. The bug is intermittent. sometimes a reboot triggers it and sometimes it doesn't, depending on the timing of the tower handshaking.

May just be a coincidence but since I put on the latest syndicate I haven't experienced the tws bug my cell stand by either doesn't show up or when it does show up doesn't even mention the tws

I'm on a fresh ec05 build, just rooted to remove bloat. I was driving around all morning on 3g and on 4g for an hour or so. Cell Standby at 2% for me.

Before the update I had odin'd back to DI18 last sat after hearing news of the update (NON Rooted), tws bug was around 50+ %.. phone updated via update.zip at 11pm last night, tws is now at 2%.

Same here - although I did also flash the EC05 modem. Right now - time unplugged = 2h37min. TWS = 0. Battery is at 92%. All with 4G turned on.

Rooted Stock DI18 to Rooted Stock EC05 (readded Asphalt5) so no need to Odin.
I wasn't seeing this in DI18, but I'm seeing 50% on EC05. Is there a fix to this?

Airplane mode on then off when you boot up.

Thanks Milkman, that worked for me.
Also for folks that are on EC05 that have this bug, aren't running a ROM that has a fix and are using Tasker - I set up a device boot profile that turns airplane mode on for 30s then turns it off. I haven't seen 50% TWS since.

How do u do this? Thanks

Battery issues after EB13

After updating to EB13 it now takes forever for my battery to charge, it barely lasts 6 hours, and the battery gets hot as can be. I now have actually had my phone tell me it cant charge till it cools off. It never happened on DI18. Also, if im doing something on my phone while its plugged in, the charger wont keep up with the usage.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
what kernel is on your phone?
my battery was very erratic too after updating to EB13. I just flashed it a second time with odin, and now my battery lasts longer than it ever has!
I'm not sure if this would help you, but it certainly helped me
FYI: I flashed the ext4 version from the dev page, and it seems to run a lot better after an odin flash.
Stock EB13 kernel.

35% Charged
Mine been charging up to 35% all day, Im a try to let it charge all night see what i get in the morning
It takes 8 hours to charge the battery, where it took around 2 hours befre the update. The phone is also hot as well, where it never was when on DI18
mine also takes quite a while to charge, but lasts quite a while as well..
I like the long lasting part.. the slower charging stinks though. :/

That was mostly directed at some of the others in the thread.
If you issue is just that it seems to take too long to charge then wiping stats in CWM (you have to use the one click root - not sure if you can do it in stock recovery) *might* help.
Your issue seems a little different - the phone should NOT run hot like that. Even overclocked to 1.2 mine doesn't get very hot unless I'm really pushing it while it's charging. Have you tried reflashing your phone? Backup everything important and try the Samsung updater tool (it'll wipe everything and start you fresh on EB13).

I flashed from the Samsung updater and then did a battery test. After a full charge I was able to go 34 hours down to 3%. A lot of that time was in sleep mode for the phone, but I also was running live wallpaper and had GPS on the entire time and WiFi off and on throughout. I'm pretty impressed with the battery chops.

I agree with this. I got 25 hours with moderate use. Facebooking, twittering, uploading pics, even went to the gym and streamed music with Double Twist for an hour. Battery is amazing.
Guess ill have to get hold of a windows pc and reflash with samsung updater

Mine charges fine, but it WILL NOT sleep. Same issue I had in DK28. I have NO idea what could be causing it. I've hardly installed anything, and the only widget I have is the "Battery Life" widget and I've even tried killing it and no change, won't sleep. Don't know what to do other than go back to DI18.
yeah...my phone has been running hot as balls lately. I've never gotten into the 100's before like this...usually just surfing with 3G im in the mid 80s..now I stay in the high 90s going to 100s :/
Batteries that take a long time to charge need to be replaced.

Ugh.. getting mad at battery life!

I have not changed anything... I was getting 16+hours and still having between 15 and 20% left but the last two days I'm hardly getting 10 hours! WTF!
What is a good program for seeing what apps are open when they don't need to be? Would that just be like a tast killer?
Just a little rant... sorry. When I complain to my friends they just call me a nerd... I need to vent to people that understand, haha.

Nope.. I use it moderately. listening to music for maybe an hour brings down my battery levels from 90 to 58% and this thing is draining 1% every 2 mins on standby...
Btw while I was charging my phone and it magically jumped from 8 to 34% in jus 10mins or so(I had switched it off before charging and after few mins of charging, I switched it on to find it on 34%). Is this a factor??
that's ridiculous, that must be an application eating up type battery

If you're charging via USB, you may wish to connect to AC. USB doesn't charge as fast and your phone (apps running, etc) may using power faster than the USB can replenish it.
If you're on AC, turn the phone off and charge it that way. If it continues to decrease this way, there is something seriously weird with your device.
I re-flashed bionix but the battery drain still continues.. Should I change back to toxic darky 9.5 and see how the battery on that thing is working?

100% time without signal - strange and serious bug detected

After 48 hours of usage, gsm signal dropped and returned randomly.
Tried switching 3g/2g, turning flight mode off and on.
Checked battery usage "cell standby" consumed the most of the battery. Strange "100% without signal appeared"
Rebooted the phone by switching it off completely and on. And... It's flawless again. Perfect hsdpa speeds.
Looks like serious software bug to me in latest XEU ROM or radio software.

This is what suppose to happen.
Cell Standby and phone idle will show most battery consumption when phone is idling most of the time. Basically thats the nominal amount that phone will need just to stay powered up.
This is normal.

No, thats not normal, but in absence of the signal, its normal for those two to show most usage.
Your phone might have failed registration on your network for some odd reason. If it does not happen too often there is nothing to worry about.
