I really loved the peep app on my mytouch slide and the native twitter app on the vibrant sucks ass. can anyone point me in the right direction to load the htc twitter apk on my vibrant?
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe peep requires HTC sense in order to even run. The only apparently I've been able to get running from the mytouch slide is the IM app.

You're correct. It's not happening without sense.
OP: Why not try the official Twitter app from the market. It's rather nice. If not, there's always Twidroid or Touiteur.

What exactly are you asking? apps for other OS'es? Android apps can be sideloaded without any porting required.
Yeah, specific apps for other brands of devices, not android apps I know we can pick at pleasure for them which is gooood
I've not investigated what other devices have yet,I will though, never know might find something useful

are you mentioning launchers? i mean, all kind of apps can be found on market and i believe if you're talking about widget like apps then sense has got the best widgets.
Using apps across phones isn't a problem, you can install most app on any android phone across different brands i believe. It depends on the app as well. So without a name we can't say that whether it'll work or not
Most of the specific apps are ported from other devices such sony and samsung apps if you search in xda.

So the market is now called Google play? just got upgraded...
Edit: just googled it... it's a known fact, I just wasn't expecting it...lol
Just uninstall updates on market, wipe the market app data and open up market and boom, Play Store. Looks exactly the same

Didn't expect it
Idk but to me it takes alot longer to open...
My market icon app says play shop on mine. I thinks its a stupid name.

indeed it looks silly...
Its dumb. I hope they change it back. Who comes up with these ideas. I should be working for Google's marketing department.

If google wants to brand their product with Google, they should have call it Google Market... I do agree that they should put their name out there but Google play doesn't make sense. Unless its only for music or games...

Wow! .... How many of you are excited and waiting for the app ??
So basically it's just a photo sharing app with filters?
Don't really see the appeal personally.
I'm pumped for this. Been waiting a long time.

I have it on my iPhone ... cant wait to use it on DHD

It's another photo sharing app, big whoop
That's what I was thinking, don't know what the big deal is.
As long as its free I dont mind. But its just the same as facebook or imgur or something similar in which people can upload photos from their mobile phone, only this has some filters layered on top with fake DOF, almost hipster-ish :/
Just another phase... it will pass
I'll probably have a play with it, if it's free.
But "meh" really
Hey everyone,
I currently own a Nokia Lumia 900 and I must say the biggest letdown is with the Facebook app. Here is my list of annoyances:
1. Cannot search for new people to add
2. Pictures sometimes refuse to load or load blurry
3. How slow it is to open and then you have to wait again for the feeds to load. These need to be optimized.
So what I am hoping for is an updated version for WP8 which will be the app on par with the other platforms (iOS, Android).
Anyone else agree or like to add anything?
A lot of things need to change for windows phone to be better and the fb app is definitely one of them. Let's hope they get it right this time at Redmond.

The thing is that they do not develop the app themselves. It's a third party that does it and they've been doing an atrocious job that's for sure.

I agree and it's a shame as fb and Microsoft have a very close business relationship. They need to do better to compete with android and ios.

I use the Facebook app plenty of times and not experienced the WP version. Hopefully they can update it to match the android/iOS version. Is the people app any good?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
It barely gets updated too. The other platforms receive updates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis while the WP version gets them quarterly or so!
Maybe this will change with WP8. We shall see in a few weeks.

There is nothing more annoying than when you tap on a picture that is posted on someone's wall to see it and it hangs loading and nothing shows up.
Then I pick up my android tablet and do the same and the picture loads instantly.
They REALLY dropped the ball with this app!!

The official facebook app is written by M$ and i agree it needs a dramatic update, that said i feel confident this will not be an issue in wp8 but then i have been wrong before.
People still use facebook?

I don't get the hype over the android facebook app. It sucks. You are better off using your browser.

+1. I don't know how bad the WP facebook app having not used it but it must be really bad if everyone wants the android facebook app. It's terrible. Runs like crap even on the best hardware.

The android app is pretty terrible. Apparently zuckerberg is an apple fanboi.

I don't think a facebook app is really needed when you have the browser. IE is more than capable of running facebook quite nicely.
According to what one regularly reads the Facebook Apps seem to be pretty terrible on all platforms. This does not surprise me given that Facebook itself is pretty unstable most of the time (login issues, Chat issues, etc.).
Still there is room for improvement on the App side as well.

If you ignore Sally and her Farmer friends it's actually all good.
Google+ is to say the least something everyone found great in the first 5 minutes and then forgot about, Twitter is an entirely different medium all together and does not really qualify for a comparison.
but it is of course totally up to you what you use and how you use it

Google+ is rubbish!
If you don't want app updates on your Facebook wall you can just set the filter options. And if you have people on there you don't care for just dump them off. I used to have hundreds of people but I didn't care about what they where up to so I got rid im now down to about 30 people close family and real friends and that's it. This was I get to use it for what its made for and that is to socialize with my friends. Google is gash for that its just a place to share advertisements for Google.
