Hey guys there are just a couple bugs that are bothering me, so I am planning on returning my atrix and getting a new one. I have rooted and applied the webtop hack, so what do I need to do to in order to return it? Flash sbf?
Thanks for the help!
Just unroot the phone to be safe, that's what I and a lot of other people did before taking it back; more than likely they'll just check to make sure the phone works then wipe it there oor send it somewhere to get it wiped, but it never hurts tto be safe.

My evo is starting to get really annoying with reboots. I want to go to sprint to get a replacement. I know I got to unroot, (I know this is not the problem), but what do I tell sprint in order to get a replacement? I've had the phone since July if that makes a difference. It's gotten so bad that I can barely stay in the browser for 5 minutes without a reboot. Or a game like mini squadron.
Any writing methods to perhaps fix this?
Any help is appreciated.

There is no fix for the power cycling problem. Sorry but you will have to get a replacement phone. Just go to your local corporate Sprint store and show them what it's doing and they will order you a warranty replacement. I had the same problem with my first EVO. This seems to be a fairly common issue on some of the early hardware version EVO's. flash the "s-on" tool from unrevoked.com website then run the stock ota 3.70 sprint rom from your computer to put your phone back to stock condition. GOOD LUCK.
Thanks man. Sounds like a plan, but the reboots are pretty random, gonna be hard to prove. Or do I just have to tell them? I'm still in warrantee after 7 months? Dang.
Thanks, its been a frustrating month.

If browsing 5min causes reboot just do some massively heavy browsing and hope it reboot.they can't really say oh well its not showing us any problems.

Alright, I guess that's all I can do. Will report back with hopeful success. Thanks everyone for the help.

I sold my hero and the person couldn't activate because it had a aosop rom on it. They sent it back and I am loading it up with the latest fresh so it can keep root. I know it has to have a sense rom. I am just wanting to make sure they can activate with Fresh and I don't need to run the RUU.
Thanks
I activated my old lady's phone I bought from impaler with honey bun, so fresh should be good to go.

Give us an update and tell us if it worked for you. Would be nice to know in the future if I decide to get rid of mine.
I activated my hero using fresh, did it over the phone to avoid any possible hassle from sprint store employees about my phone being rooted. It was easy and took maybe 15 minutes.

I just got done rooting my phone and installing ICS nearly one week ago Samsung Fascinate, yesterday someone decided to steal it.
Already changed pass words but still a lot of stuff i need on that phone with no way of getting it.
Now looking at a new phone which Samsung would you guys recommend as i plan to root it and install ICS on the new one as i liked it a lot.
Thanks
Bummer bro. Sorry to hear that. I wonder if your provider could help you. Is there a replacement you can use until the sgs3 comes out this summer?

Looking at getting another Samsung something i can run ICS on again as i like that ROM.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

There isn't a Samsung Fascinate 4G for Verizon. That's probably the TELUS version. Which carrier are you using?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
Im with Telus.
Also thinking about getting a Samsung S2X but hoping it can be rooted and similar rom installed like the ICS as everything worked with that.
for future reference check out prey, lookout, findmydroid, etc. these are all apps that can track your phone if it gets stolen, you just send the phone a key word in a text message or something and it will enable gps and give you coordinates and stuffs.

THANKS wish i would of known about that before this happen.
Get plan b in market. Its lookout but if u forgot to have it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
yeah that is one course of action, if you hadn't changed your google password then you could go on the play store website on your computer and download plan b and it will install itself on the phone and help you find it.

I upgraded yesterday and noticed my husband's galaxy box said MF3 so I was looking pretty screwed for rooting/roms. Cue today when I notice that my box says MDL! I am filled with hope! Then I realize with dread that my phone made a crazy noise in the middle of the night and I half asleep hit update. Dreaded MF3 now. Ugh. I feel like the world's biggest idiot and I can't reverse.

Did you get your phone at the AT&T store?
Just asking in case because if you got the phone from Costco by any chance, you can return it without any questions asked and get one that has MDL on it.

Oh I will it just seems like the difficulty level has increased a lot. I considered myself fairly tech savvy (coming from a jailbroken iPhone 5) but a lot of rooting information is going over my head

Rooting is very different than jailbreaking and more user involved. Don't feel bad. You'll get it down and then you'll be an Android master.

Yeah att store think I'm borked cause I could pay the restocking fee but how to exchange?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
If u just got it. Then u have 14 days to return to AT$T without restock fee. But doesn't guarantee u will get lucky with ur next one being MDL either. I bought 1 for each family member (4 total) and received only 1 MDL outta the bunch. But I been reading on the safe strap and it may be easier than dealing with AT$T

When I had the Lumia 920 and returned it within 14 days, I still had to pay the restocking fee. ($36)
Just say you have some issue with your WiFi and it's extremely weak at your house, but your husbands WiFi strength is full. Basically tell them you have a defective device. They should be able to exchange the phone for you without the restocking fee. If you're brave enough, ask kindly if you could get a phone with the MDL software. If they bring one out that is MF3, ask kindly if they can recheck.
Good luck!

Good luck! I'm also eager to know how it went.
If they tell you it might be the router that is causing the issue, tell them they're wrong because your husbands S4 stays connected all the time and doesn't have any problems.
I took the MF3 uptate by choice just for a new challenge and its actually very easy to root using the card reader exFAT formated SdCard method.Safstrap is also very easy to install and use.its all good reading material here in Xda

I was sweating bullets. They forced a factory reset and were saying I had to keep the phone and so I pushed the fact that we are a cell phone only house and with no coverage at random it wasn't safe (since we use a mcell tower for coverage) then they approved it and had ONE in back.
Success!!!!
Can anyone tell me how I turn off updates so I stay at MDL and point me to the direction of the best rooting tutorial for slightly techy people? Lol.this was crazy.

This will get you rooted and a custom recovery. On page 2 post 14 has the option for CWM or TWRP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900
You need Titanium Backup (paid version) to freeze these 3 files.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41424569&postcount=4
*edit* Whatever you do, do not put the SIM in or setup your wifi until the 3 files are frozen.

Thank you!! Uh, I connected to the wi-fi for a little bit but I'm still on MDL, I just turned it off, hopefully I was fast enough. I'm rooting right now and then Titanium Backup to freeze the files.

Just use the tutorial that is located in the General section.
Root -> Custom recovery (I suggest CWM) -> Custom ROM.
If you use CASUAL to root, Loki and install TWRP after that is complete, download ROM Manager from the playstore and flash CWM. (I've been having boot issues with AOSP (CM10.1) and switching to CWM helped)
If you want a really simple ROM, I suggest CyanogenMod 10.1 RC2 (get.cm) or you could do NIGHTLIES. Up to you.
Glad you were able to get an MDL version!

I don't think it gives you an option to install CWM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900
That is the one I used and it never gave me the option to pick CWM over TWRP.

Go to post 14 in this thread like I said and you'll have the option for TWRP or CWM!
Well it finally happened. ...for the first time I cracked the screen of my note 2. I dropped it on my concrete garage floor & it landed right on it's corner. All those years of paying for insurance paid off and my replacement will be here tomorrow. It's been a while since I had to transfer from one phone to another. I know Titanium Backup to backup my apps & data, texts, phone logs...I need to transfer any photos over....What am I missing? Also before sending my old phone back I need to get it back to stock...what's a good stock rom to use? Anything else I'm forgetting? I thought there was a thread about this somewhere but I can't find it. Thanks for the help

Titanium backup should do everything you need also if its an insurance claim not warrenty then you should need to bother about a stock ROM as its a service you have paid for.
Also this is the nexus 7 forum trybthe note 2 forum if you need a stock rom

OMG!!!! I'm so sorry!! I was frustrated & in a hurry this morning when I opened up Tapatalk to post this! I have a Nexus 7 too but when I clicked the "Help & Q&A forum" I didn't even look at which one! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply anyway!!
I have Assurion Total Coverage & they are shipping a new/refurb phone to me as I write this. But I figured it would have to be stock when I returned it? So all I have to do is just do a full wipe/factory reset then?
Thanks again for allowing me my blunder! LOL

If they are sending you a new phone I would just give them the old one as is its not the same as warranty if they have a problem you already have the new phone tell them to do one rooting or having a custom ROM doesn't affect having the screen broken. That's just my opinion though.
