Should I trade my x and $100 for a thunderbolt? I can get that or any phone on the market for Verizon

I wish I had that option im getting real freaking sick of waiting on those lazy moto ass holes to get the gingerbread update pushed via ota. Im giving them about another week and if its not out my decision is made when im able to upgrade again im going back to htc I had an evo and really miss it ...just kinda bs I guess having to root and overclock just to make my phone work decent

How much will Verizon give for your Droid X? I am thinking about doing the same...
A family member has an upgrade and she told me I could give her my x and $100 and I get Tb should I?
sent from my rooted droid x running apex 1.4.1
I would considering youll still have ur own upgrade to get a dualcore phone when they come out
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'd strongly recommend that you take that offer. The thunderbolt has better specs than the Droid x and it has an unlocked bootloader

Actually it has very similar bootloader... It's signed as well as like everything else...
+ 4g service when available = win
And while the bootloaders may be similarly protected, the TB already has s-off and a true custom recovery, which the X will (likely) never have.
One question I worry about is battery life. My area doesn't have 4g so what kind of battery life?
sent from my rooted droid x running apex 1.4.1
Yes I would do it unless you want better phones to pick from this summer. The droid bionic and several other unofficially anounced phones are coming. I am going to upgrade this summer.
I have a question. If I traded in my droid X today would I have to break my contract?
Battery life is better than my nexus s just thought I would butt in here as I have the thunderbolt and it is.great and so is the 4g coverage even inside a building. But when the bionic comes out I will probably switch to that just because its hardware is more up to date

if you traded it in and got a tb? no... the only thing that breaks your contract is breaking your contract. you just have to pay (a lot) more for a new device.
When does tiered data start?
sent from my rooted droid x running apex 1.4.1
The tiered data starts this summer...the biggest plan you could get then is 2GB for like $20. So I say upgrade now if you really want the thunderbolt.

I called Tmo today and they told me I was eligible for a full upgrade. I found it weird because I just got my Vibrant in July last year. Anyways whats the best phone out there now? I hated my vibrant until I flashed it. Now I want to move away from vibrant. So what do you guys recommend? Should I just wait for the summer phones like the lg optimus 3d? Thoughts?

I'd say wait too.
T-Mobile® G2x™ with Google
Considering there is a high probability of AT&T getting the green light from the government to buy Tmobile, I wouldn't get locked in to a contract if I were you. Even though AT&T says they will honor our contracts, they have no obligation to provide services like 3G, which most tmobile phones don't support ATT 3G bands anyway. So if you upgrade don't expect the new phone to have 3G in a year.

I'm waiting for a dual core, 4.3'' screen with Hdmi out, a ffc, flash or maybe the Samsung Galaxy II
Also Verizon is sounding attractive as well if that $50 unlimited voice and text goes through.

I am not sure this has been posted yet, but for you wanting to get the E3D or another phone, get a $150.00 credit on the purchase of your new phone.
Just did this 10 minutes ago and got my new EVO 3D for $49.99
You can take it to a sprint store, or do it online easily at:
http://www.sprintbuyback.com/
Have fun!
Is this only when you're due for an upgrade or anytime?
You can do it at anytime. As long as it turns on and doesn't have a cracked screen or anything. If you don't have upgrade it would just take $150 off retail price. I wouldn't think that price is going to last much longer seems its being sold with upgrade for $99.

You are right, you can do it at anytime and even use other cellphones, but they might give you a lesser value.
The price WILL NOT last long. There are actually places selling the EVO 4G with new 2 years plan for $29.99.

The Evo3D is a waste of money. Why would I trade an evo in for an evo? The only reason I'd do this is if I was coming from a MUCH older phone.

My wife has an iphone on verizon... I have sprint because of my work... and you know what... 3d beats it!
We bought our Evo's for $119 before any number porting credits or rebates. If we were due for an upgrade it would be nice to make $30 on our phones trading them in for $50 E3D's for a net of about $20 to get into brand new phones. We are more than happy with our Evo's and already have batteries and too many accessories to consider following through at this point.
On my way to the sprint store now to trade in my og evo for a $50.00 3d? Will probably return it in a week though for the photon. Only time will tell.

I can say that Verizon has no coverage where I live within about a 4 mile radius, while Sprint does. After taking away my unlimited data when I switched the devices on my lines, still smartphones btw, and after the rep claimed my plan would stay intact, I now have a 2 gb cap and am paying $45 for each line rather than $20 for each line with unlimited data with a discount I had. I am very happy! I went into my local Sprint store, had googley eyes at the attractive Sprint guy, but he told me he couldn't move my contract end date so I could get the EVO LTE when it comes out. (My contract isn't up until Sept. 1 2012)
I called *2, explained to the rep that I wanted to stay with sprint another two years if I could upgrade to the EVO 4G LTE that is to be released for pre-order day after tomorrow. She said no.
She was eager to try options though and put me on hold. Her supervisor came back (without me asking for her). I said, "I will gladly pay any pro-rated fees to move my contract up to an early date. She told me there was nothing she could do to move my contract dates.
THEN
I said, "Why can't I pay the pro-rated penalty for canceling my contract at this point into it (20 months in) and.."
"Sir before we consider cancelling your service, let me transfer you to the department that can move your date up for you!"
And had no problems after that.
I would suspect Sprint would be willing to do anything to keep customers, as they have spent so much money on building a fallen 4G network and building a new 4G network, and after buying all them iPhones. lol
So, I will be a happy EVO 4G LTE pre-order customer come Monday!
Good for you.

I walked into AT&T ready to pay full price but somehow managed to walk away only paying on contract price even though I wasn't eligible for an upgrade. That said, had I actually paid full price, I would still love it just as much and would still be extremely happy with my purchase. I paid full price for both my HTC One and my GS4 Active and this thing blows both of those devices out of the water. As for how long I'll keep it, that depends on what's coming down the pipeline. I switch phones VERY often. I can definitely see myself sticking with this phone longer than I did the One or the GS4 Active though. It is quite the upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus, that's for sure. The GNex isn't in the same league as the Moto X.
You must be making the big bucks to be able to off-contract phones new all the time.
I bought my GalNex for $350 new on eBay about a year ago... I was hoping to get more use out of it, but at the same time I'm not disappointed I "have no choice" but to buy a new phone
That's some luck to pay the upgrade price, I doubt Verizon has overlooked any loopholes there...

I make a decent living but I also use craigslist to my full advantage. I was able to sell my HTC One for $500, and my year old iPhone 5 just sold for $500 as well.
Yeah, I don't know how I got it for that price, but I chalk it up to the ineptitude of the 4 representatives at the AT&T store that took over an hour to figure out how to sell me the Moto Maker card. Something happened when they were making the sale that caused me to lose LTE on all my devices for a few days, and I got an upgrade when there wasn't one. Now the LTE is back on, and I got the phone for less than half of what I was expecting to pay. Sometimes their stupidity can work to our advantage
I would definitely pull the trigger man, you will NOT be disappointed. I feel that the Moto X is the perfect marriage of hardware and software, just like the iPhone is. You have never seen Android run this smoothly before. It is the best possible representation of what an Android phone can be nowadays. Or any smart phone for that matter. I've been through A LOT of phones (including the GNex), so I feel I am qualified to make a statement like that
