You can get the link if you buy the "team black hat" app from the market . P3droid does his early releases to those with the app first, then releases to the public later.

Thanks, do you have any screenshots?
says its unrootable. :/
3.4.2 is rootable but you need to use superoneclick, z4 will not work.
tbh must not have updated that disclaimer in the app
also people have had different versions of superoneclick work, some work for people others had a different version work.
google superoneclickroot for the apk i believe its also in xda somewhere, search should pop it up
So does it look like motoblur on phones like the cliq and atrix?

Nop it looks just like the original Blur the droid X has with a few new things on it (an Task Manager is one of them) and battery life seems to be way better than preview releases ....
Here is a 3.4.2 user. Rooted and flashed imoseyon's v5.2 .zip, frozen blur crapware through TiBu
I have been never happier. Every other ROM out there has some sort of quirk but this everything works and Super stable, no lag, no reboots, no random freezes. on a moderate+ use I still usually have 30+% battery after 18hrs. So I'll say battery life is wonderful too.
Thank god for the better battery life! Are there any other things or features that are new??

Ok calm down kid.
I guess your mileage can vary with 3.4.2. I tried it last week and I found it unbearably unstable to continue using for more than 10 minutes. Perhaps I could have given it more of a chance.

So actually, I'm giving this leak another shot. So far everything is smooth. I'm not running the stock launcher so I can't talk much about that, but overall the UI hasn't been buggy in any way. I managed 12 hours on battery with light/moderate browsing and general data usage, along with about 2 hours of talk time before reaching 10% battery life and plugging in for the night. If anyone has specific questions I should be able to answer them as I continue use of the leak. I don't know what went wrong last time. I kept experiencing soft reboots every minute or so which ultimately led me to sbf back to .340.

there is a one click root out for it now and it has profiles now like work weekend and home! a lot faster and more responsive and apps have been edited just a bit

Anyone have lag such as music skipping or just being slow when scrolling through contacts?

Absolutely...I'm having the same issues. I'm wondering if it is a Motorola thing...I returned my original, which had the same problems. I wouldn't think so, but could it be just the way the OMAP processor runs?
Or laziness on MOTO. They rushed the OS out. There's not much polish.

I completely agree. I was excited about this phone. Picked it up at Verizon yesterday and it feels so slugish that I couldn't stand it anymore after just a few hours. This phone is going back and I'm now happily back on my Incredible sporting the new Froyo leak.
I was also very let down by the screen. The touch technology on the Incredible feels so much more responsive. It might not be the screen hardware itself though. Not sure about this but I won't have to worry about it anymore.
Samsung Fascinate here I come!
Getting rid of the bloat (root & rename pointless services and background apps) made a truly noticeable difference in performance for me. The default widgets also seem to be pretty crappy performers.
My phone has locked up completely several times. Unfortunately, this is what I have come to expect from stock android. My Eris did it, my D1 did it, and now my D2 does it. Only before, I could actually do something about it.

maybe it's the apps you're using. my phones have never locked up.
You can do something about it right now. Try rooting the phone and getting rid of the bloat. If that doesn't make a difference, there are at least 2 guides on un-rooting back to factory if you discover you simply got a lemon.
My phone has yet to lock up, crash, stutter or have any major problems. Yet rooting and removing the bloat made an already good phone pretty amazing in my book.
And you can edit your build.prop to get faster UI response and other minor fixes that make the Droid 2 a little faster.
Dunno how long it's been out for, just giving us non-senseUI (the only real way to use a Hero ) users a heads up that it's available.
Edit: oh yea, and for the sense users that don't check often..
If you update and it gives you ****ty (my bad), worse service or whatever go HERE and look at either the OP or the 2nd post for links to download older PRL versions.
Must be relatively new. Wiped back to factory and rerooted on Wednesday. Did all the updates 3 times to be sure and mine is still at 60671.

did you really "reroot", cuz going to a sense rom should not cause root loss i keep a nand of sense (nfx's rom) and just restore it, update, fastboot to recovery, restore CM and I'm good to go...

The comment about nonsense being theonly way to use ahero isn't true anymore. The new Sprint ruu that nfx modded is better than aosop. Cm and all the rest. I've tried them all. Runs faster.no fc. Better batterylife. And has all the sense goodies. No lag at all.

Mine runs plenty fast, no lag, no fc's ever. I'm running a custom compiled CM6.1 rom. Battery lasts longer than I need. More internal space as compared to sense for installing apps. LauncherPro's widgets look nicer and run smoother imo, I can set it to have only 2 homescreens without the extra bulk UI on the phone. Native a2sd. Slicker stock keyboard.
CM addons/settings are a plus too. Notification power control widget, lockscreen controls, UI color edits, etc.
umad?
But to be serious and all that; I'm partial to aosp mainly because I can compile it relatively easily and the android SDK is aosp. So it's practically all I've used for the past 8 (i think) months.
As you said - it's not particularly true anymore since there are senseUI roms that run extremely smooth and quick. It usually comes down to what exactly a person is looking for in a rom.
I still use lp over sense with the new ruu. But I ran cm and aosop for about a year. And I never went more than an hour without some kind of problem. That's why I was so happy that the new Sprint ruu runs so great. It even has aps2sd. And launcherpro adds some extras that you get from froyo. I honestly can't tell the difference. Not to mention my iheartradio would not work on cm or aosop. I'm so happy to have rovers morning glory back. I'm not mad. Lol. Just letting you know that there is a better Rom out there for heros than the cm6.

I am a serial ROM junkie BUT I am still in the sidelines on this one. Having read through most of the posts I still can't see what going to the beta Gingerbread achieves. Does it do anything better than the stock 2.2 which is so stable?

I feel the same way. My atrix is my only phone so I will just watch here with interest but wait for Motorola to do it's thing....I hope.
Of course it is fun to play with, but I have gone back to 1.83. It is my only phone and the rom made for Hong Kong phones is just to buggy for every day use IMHO. They have made great progress in removing a lot of the bugs, but it is just not ready for prime time yet. If I had a backup phone I would be all over it, but as it will be coming soon I believe. I can wait.
It's been my daily driver since day one and no real complaints especially with navalynt's fixes and eye candies rolled into a flashable zip. There's a few things it does that I like. Music beta, portrait to landscape animation, crt animation when locking, etc. Fingerprint scanner is all I'm lacking and I know its just a matter of time. Don't blame ya for holding off, but as a fellow junkie I am a bit surprised =D

I've been using 2.3.4 since it was released here with tutorials on how to install. I used _unknown's method. I have seen no real benefits, other than having an unlocked bootloader and a recovery I can boot into anytime I want. However IMO it is stable enough to use daily... battery life is about the same, and my phones been on with no restarts for a little over 48 hrs. The only way to appreciate all the work these devs have been doing is to try it out yourself
And I would like to thank xda for hosting a forum with an endless amount of useful knowledge for all the smart phones I've had in the last 2-3 years.

I use it just to educate myself on the new fastboot stuff and try things out, get familiar with new layouts, etc. Education, experimentation. Seems like the wrong place to hang out if you're not into those things.
I agree with what both of you said. I love this forum and I do tinker with my device.
Just want to know, is any of the software improved / faster or better?

Speed test wise is a bit better but this thing is such a beast its hard to see it. Camera app had a real overhaul and I love it! Battery, like above poster , seems the same. Software being gingerbread is more about cosmetics and I'm very happy in that regard ... it's pretty sexy I'm back to using launcher pro + for now but the moto-blur UI looks great. So good in fact I just started using LP+ recently. That's a big statement being as I slapped gingerblur P-ROM on the day I purchased the ATRIX!

Pretty much this for me, if they get the fingerprint scanner working I'll be a happy camper
the only bug i have noticied with the phone is that the FP scanner doesn't work, and the FFC appears sideways (but is normal when videochatting to the person on the other end).
the build is noticeably faster and smoother for me for animations, especially the 3d-cube and cylindrical app transitions on Go Launcher EX. the screen transitions for open-close and vertical-horizontal are pretty nice too since froyo lacks them. once i installed all the 'fixes' that devs have come up with, i see no reason to go back to Froyo, as I can live without the FP scanner for now, and videochatting with the FFC is fine. oh yeah, and i freakin LOVE the CRT shutoff animation.
oh yeah, and the new battery use meter system is pretty freakin' cool.
I moved back to 2.2.1 from 2.3.4 since I had horrible battery life on the HKTW 2.3.4 beta build! Other than that, I have to say it is way faster and smoother than 2.2.1!
speed, battery life, those were arbitrarily the same for me..
two of my fav noticeable improvements are:
1.) ability to clear notifications from your bar one by one instead of having to clear them all.
2.) being able to boot straight into CWM w/o a charger
3.) finally fixed the slow market download speeds!!!
2.3.4 is insanely fast compared to stock. Once you take the tome to fix the small bugs it's a really good everyday rom.
On 2.3.4 I get almost the same battery life with push email and no battery conservation as I did in 2.2.2 with everything turned off. There is no wakeup lag or random pauses like before. At first it seemed like it drained battery but After a couple days when my battery had calibrated itself this were normal.
So far the only bugs I have are the funky front facing camera and I can't sync my exchange account.nmy phone no longer heats up as much as before.
I am running launcher pro and havent disable blur yet and it's super fast. For comparison 2.2.2 with launcher pro and no blur was still slow.
It's completely changed my views of the Atrix, except for the screen.

They did indeed. When I'm on wifi now at home I get full 1.5 MB a second market download speeds where as before I swore it never went above 250-300 kb / sec. Even on 3g the market finally takes advantage of the full bandwidth. I had to test downloading big game apks as regular apps kept finishing before I can even check the speeds

No Exchange syncing = one less push email account. That's probably why battery life seems the same for you. Mine is noticeably worse.
Unless you didn't use Exchange push in 2.2.2, in which case forget this post.

Right now my battery is 10% lower at the end of my work night following my same usage habits. 2.3.4 seems to be much more efficient with memory management as well.
I can do without fingerprint scanner and the front facing camera, this ROM is definitely better than 2.2 froyo. Now I feel like I own a dual core phone.I am unlocked and can't wait to flash an American optimized ROM!

Okay, I'm creating this thread so that all users can post their experiences/bugs here because its annoying some of the devs when people post questions in the dev threads. So all you guys like me who need to ask questions or talk about this ROM please post here. I hope they will be kind enough here to answer everyones questions.
I flashed this ROM 3 days ago and I have to say im pretty goddamned impressed. A few words and questions.
First off, I love the stock look from 2.1. 6 Bars for signals, stock moto launcher. That has got to be the most important for me because everytime I flashed a froyo build the launcher would include just the app drawer and no dialer or message buttons like in stock 2.1. The haptic feedback is crisp and works in a few places. Like the dialer and 4 buttons below. The thing I love most about this ROM is is the built in moto LED notifications. I always missed that on the froyo builds and tried using apps like LEDme now and others but it just didnt cut it. The media button works. Its really fast and overclocked its a beauty. The only problem I found with the dialer was the number format and I dont know WHY that should be a problem for anyone. A cool thing I noticed with the dialer was you can block calls from inside the dialer. Love the stock appearance. Okay I dont know what issues you guys have with SMS. All I did was install keyboard for gingerbread longpressed the text input space and chose the input method. It replaced the stock keyboard and everything is fine. The SMS has nice solid black background compared to the grey in dexters and CB's which I assume saves battery. Also you have extra SMS options like pop ups. All apps work great and fast. Over clocked at 1000 mhz, 74 vsel it works as a charm. I use autokiller at moderate and never felt any lessening of RAM or slowing of the phone. About the APN settings yes I cant choose them but for some reason it picked up the settings itself and my data connection is active. I have an unlimited plan so its always on, for those who dont theres a power control app called switch pro you can turn off data along with another bunch of functions. Its basically an extended power control menu. It also has a nice UI. Camera works nicely and over all I just love the stock feel. I have had no signal problems its actually really good. WIFI signals are keeping well even though my router is far away and with froyo I used to get only 1 bar. Apps like Google+ work nicely.
Issues/Questions: I fastbooted into fjfalcons boot4.img. For some reason it became really slow and I had to reboot without it and now its fine. In set CPU half of my swap was active without even running any apps. I use 91 mb linux swap on my SD card like in reverends video from the old khal rom days. Besides that I want to ask about the super sleep mode button, what does it do? When do i activate it? How does it work? etc. By the way im using M7's patch with extended menu's. Umm besides that I tried installing root explorer but it already has its own korean RE, and I cant install root explorer on top because it says system app cant remove. Theres also another browser which in in korean but I just ignored that.
Besides that I have had no Issues with this ROM. Seems very solid and suitable for everyday use. I flashed directly from CB's froyo without reformatting my SD. All my apps were preserved and I had no issues booting this ROM up. I did loose the calvin bootloader img in the start which is now replaced by the official moto M and a sexy T logo after works. All in all I feel this is a keeper, after trying literally every ROM on this forum atleast 2 dozen times. Thats my review as a normal moderate user. I don't play many hardcore games and use my phone for calling, sms, browsing and photos.
Please post your opinions and experiences. And any bugs. Thanks!

It feels like an official update from moto
If the dialer and messaging were fixed (americanized), I bet cincy bell would backtrack and call this the official update, especially with a swype keyboard.

I'm not a huge fan of swype. My favorite keyboard actually is the stock gingerbread keyboard. I really fly with that one.

Yeah, well that's kind of the issue. Sometimes works well and types fast, other times it misses my words. Too many misses makes the gingerbread keyboard my default for speed and reliability.
But Swype also lets you type normally as well as swype to type.

It was in the display options. LED Notifications and periodic notifications just like in 2.1. After I selected them I got the flashing 4 bottom LED's which would stop after a few seconds and restart every 4-5 minutes.
My battery life for me sucked bad even after calibration, so I flashed stock 2.1 signapore sbf to see if that changes anything. I heard there are kernel issues if you dont go back to stock. Also memory leaks.

Just a small update. I was getting really crappy battery life, so I decided to flash the stock singapore SBF and then reflash WanHu's ROM. I took it right from scratch. Root with Universal android root which is so much easier than superoneclick. I tried superoneclick though and it didnt work, maybe because i was trying to do it under MONO in linux. After that I applied the Mioz Patch!
Okay here's where the weirdness starts. First all you guys must remember that annoying ugly korean keyboard and the weird gestures keyboard in the sms, well after the sbf flash my ROM has kept its old android 2.1 keyboard WITH the original haptic feedback. This wasnt there when I flashed directly from the CB froyo. Also Im getting haptic feedback on long touch in the homescreen along with the 4 LED buttons.
Hope this helps. Im going to do some more exploring!
EDIT: Okay so the keyboard is FC on me. It was fine when I was putting in my google info

Just wanted to share my friends ridiculous uptime on his neglected dhd running completely stock as out of the box. Overtime I noticed him being a bit paranoid of running low and always charging around. I checked it and it was around 1k already, without him even considering this as unusual or having the now and then need to restart, like the rest of us From then it became a bit of a challenge for us, and for him an on going obligation and an everyday responsibility... The best part of the story actually is his carelessness towards maintaining a clean and stable os, using it as any subxda user for everyday needs. For the challenge to prove the point the general character of the use couldn't be changed just because of our discovery, and so it hasn't. Atm we hit 3168 and the MSM8255 is humming on
Woah.

Deep words for a thread about battery life
Sent from PACman'd Desire HD
Haha. The kind of flashoholics that we are around here at xda... the stat about uptime has lost all meaning
Are you sure its fully stock? Mine who only ever got to about 200 hours before it started freaking out.

Atm we hit 3168 and the MSM8255 is humming on

hall of fame!
they even let their battery ran out! :good:
if have another battery, time to use! should consider it wears.
I'm confused, based on the picture the person has been using his phone for 3000 hrs without a reboot, or pretty much asking for a million and one glitches.
Comments seem to suggest he used his phone for 3000hrs with only one charge?

Its never been touched, and this guy disregards any ota. Checked the kernel - its compiled over a year ago xD
The only bug to my knowing has been 3g failing to connect one day - turning it off and on again fixed it...

Your right about asking for a million glitches - but he's experienced 1. Thats what makes it extraordinary.
Of course this thread isn't about batterylife, its about uptime. 3000h is around 125 days, so at the very least 125 cycles.

As a total noob, I'm not getting this. I didn't think there was a point in rebooting Android that often?
My Desire HD is running stock (if that is only official releases and that), has 258 hours uptime, and no bugs or glitches I can think of.
Is it bad having a kernel that is not "new"?

This very thread is a testimony to exactly this. There is no need to reboot android very often, and there is no need to clear your ram every hour. When that's said, a phone running for 4 month without a hickup is uncommon. Restart android to your liking
Regarding the kernel, the short answer is yes - IF you as you are stating, running stock. If you root your phone, a lot of other things are important regarding the kernel, not just the build date...
But if you have the latest ota (thats, over the air) update you will also have the newest kernel.
Thanks!
Yes, I have the latest update released from HTC, but they scrapped this phone a year ago.
I dunno... In my experience, at least with my setup (apps) on stock sense 3, my phone would work no matter how long I had it on without restarting but it would become EXTREMELY SLOW after like 11-14 days.... could be an app that was causing this, I am not sure... But I don't think I had it w/o reboot for more than like 20-30 days (and maybe once) Then again, I use a lot of widgets and apps so it is more probable that slowness is an app thing than an OS thing. Still, sometimes I envy iSheep users.
