does it matter what base firmware your on when flashing the stock nandroid backup found on the dev thread? like if im on gingerbread will restoring that 2.2.1 backup work or cause a brick? I had a samsung vibrant before, and when i restored a backup from a different version of android firmware it bricked and i had to use a pc software to flash factory firmware. anyone went from cm7 back to stock? also in the thread it says you have to flash a recovery image again.

You have to use the correct recovery image. YES. 2.x images will only work with 2.2 ROMs and 3.0.0.5 will only work with 2.3 ROMs. However there is 3.0.0.6 that will work with both 2.3 and 2.2 ROMS. I have links in my signature for that recovery image. I would highly suggest flashing that recovery image prior to flashing back to 2.2.x.

Did you install CWM and make a back-up when you rooted? If you did just restore your back-up and ODIN the stock recovery. BUT, you should have CWM if you want to be rooted.
If you didn't make a back-up, you will have to wait for someone to post the the EA28 rooted rom or you could install a DL09 rom, they are the same with the exception of the lockscreen 911 fix.
So I made the mistake of updating CWM to 3.0.0.8 and now I can't load ROM. I've had to go back to completely stock and had a hard time getting root. I tried to revert back to old CWM in Rom Manager but it says Encountered error trying to download. How else can I either get back to old CWM or install another EB01 ROM?
ROM install scripts need to be updated to edify. Newest cwm doesnt support the older scripts.

You're now stock w/ root? All in one EB01 .tar file to be flashed through Odin should do all of the things you need. It's in the dev section somewhere.
Trying it now. I'll update shortly. Thanks
I just install ginger bread leak is there any way to restore back to factory setting I did try the PD15IMG but it say that one was old so it did not flash please help thank you very much for your time and sorry for my english
Did you make nandroid backup? If not then there are few things you can do to recover. As I am not sure which rom you had I am guessing stock tmo rom just rooted? In that case you can go to dev section and download nandroid or stock flashable zip which you can install via CWMR.
Now I am not sure how you installed the GB Leak rom as we do have flashable but I am guessing you used the PD15IMG.zip leaked that contained the radio/rom? I don't know why people even do these things. All you had to do was do a complete system wipe (/data; /system) and flash the GB Leak though CWMR. Now you have a new bootloader?
I solved the problem with downgrade that I was search in here thank you verymuch
hi guys. I was running us update 1.147.07 before installing cwr and then switched to 3.1 leaked. When I ran my restore it took me back to 1.147.04? I then used Acer recovery tool to install stock recovery 1.147.07 . But system build still sits at 1.147.04. Tried a factory reset and still at 1.147.04? Will I get the OTA too 3.1? I'm worried I need to somehow reinstall the 1.147.07 that was pushed to the tablet but can't pull from settings. Any help?
Any suggestions? I can restore to 3.1 leak rooted cwr or my stock 1.147.04
Sounds like a mismatched flexrom to me. Did you backup the flexrom partition?

You seems trying to use Acer recovery tool to return to 1.147.07 but it should be impossible! Acer recovery tool can help you to restore the stock RECOVERY but not your system so you can't go back to 1.147.07. You will need to find a 1.147.07 package(>300MB) and flash it. Hope this help you!
Let me know what you need to check my flexrom version. i wanna get this straightnend out

I used acer recovery to flash CWR. i then used CWR to flash 3.1 leak. I used CWR to then recover the stock backup I had. and then used acer recover to reflash stock recovery
Those interested in getting back their OTA, properly backing up their original ROMS or restoring them, please follow the tutorials in this thread:
Going back to stock TUTORIAL
Be helpful and provide your firmware if you have a backup so we can build a database for those who don't.
Be sure to report what is working and what is not working for you once you've tried the tutorials!
Unlike the 14 threads on these matter I take the responsibility as OP to upgrade my original post as firmwares and new info becomes available.
Okay so i'm not new to flashing just made a stupd mistake, i have a Bell i9000M and installed CM9.1 and everything went fine and then installed the S3 addon pack that caused a bootloop so went into recovery and flashed back my nandroid here is where i made the mistake and restored back to GB and caused all sorts of problems but long story short I am now 100% stock running GB 2.3.3 and for the life of me cannot get CWM recovery on the phone.
Everytime i install a kernal it bootloops and looks like I can't even get into stock recovery now. I used odin and flashed PDA,CSC,PHONE and tried using 512 pit file.
The phone works just can't get recovery to work or even install a custom kernal like hardcore speedmod.
Tried follow the CM wiki and no luck, that just causes a bootloop on the startup screen.
