[Q] Battery problem- Launcher Pro Plus - XPERIA X8 General

I have a strange problem with X8! I used it about 3 months with the default screen and the battery lasted me a 2, max 3 days. I decide to insert a Launcher and I install Launcher pro plus and some other types of programs (Fancy widgets...). And at once like a battery that lasts for a day. morning it off the charger andat night around 20h is already empty ? Is there any idea what this is?!
P.S. Sorry for my English but I am not from the English-speaking area

which Roms ? which baseband ?

I have the default system 2.2 Froyo

default rom is 1.6 or 2.1 Eclair.
You can find on Xda, some custom, froyo's rom

ok my peas I bought a phone with 2.1 so I update to 2.2!
I did not understand very well for this froyo's rom?

When you buy Xperia X8, you have default Sonic Ericsson ROM, (1.8 or 2.1).
If you have 1.8, you can update to 2.1 with PC Compagnon from Sony Ericson.
2.1 is the lasted Rom give by sony ericsson for Xperia X8.
If you want to update to 2.2 or 2.3 Rom (2.2 is Froyo, 2.3 is Gingerbread) there is unofficial rom (custom rom), made by develloper.
You can find on Xda, custom 2.2 , 2.3 Rom, that you can download and install with xRecovery.
But you must root your phone and install xRecovery

Ok, thanks, but I would not treat injected custom rom because then I lose the guarantee on the phone, I'd just like to change the Home Screen and we do not deplete the battery

i have a new xperia x8 with 2.1 rom, with or without launcher pro plus, if you leave wifi open, batterie life is 1 day
Just close wifi, and application when you finish using, and it will save battery.
But battery is more longer on 2.2 / 2.3 rom !

Update Me On X10a Progress

So I havent visited the threads for months and im wondering what kind of updates/changes have we gotten on the x10? The time I left was probably a few weeks after we got 2.1 on it. So im wondering how we are doing in terms of Android version, multitouch, etc. The number of threads some with 2.1 some about 2.2 and 2.3 are all too confusing so it would be nice if someone could update me.
Thanks.
2.2 custom ROM ( Free X10 by Z ) is almost stable, only video recording not working.
2.3 custom ROM ( by jerpelea ) is out for beta, with few issues, not yet ready for everyday use.
MIUI, SENSE, Cyanogen mods are being developed, but not as complete as other ones.
Dual touch update for Japan is out, the kernel has been extracted by Bin4ry and Dualtouch can be enabled on every ROM right now.
xRecovery
FREE X10
FREE X10 + HOWTO(also all themes included)
2.3 CUSTOM ROM
2.3 CUSTOM ROM HOWTO
Thanks guys. Ive got 2.2 and Dual-Touch running

[Q] HTC Desire Z Stock Apps and ROM Questions

Hi im new to android but have rooted my phone and installed the Stock HTC rom IE no Carrier bloat ware only thing is there are so many apps on my phone that i dont use and never will IE twitter facebook, peep, stocks, quickoffice, talk(dosent work in canada) amazon mp3 etc now what i was wondering was is there either a way to delete these apps (i have already tryed with titanium backup and chuck norris mode they just come back on reboot) or is there a Vanilla 2.2 Rom out there with the Sense user interface or even vanilla android 2.2 period i would prefer a way just to get rid of the apps then going through the root s-off and have to overclock it again many thanks in advance sorry for the noobishness also keep in mind this is the desire z not g2
Carrier:Bell
Phone:HTC Desire Z
Titanium back up has always worked for me.you can always find other apps to do that for you, however, you may want to try different roms ,if you want sense interface ,you could always try virtouos rom
but it will come with all the apps that you said you dont want like twitter and facebook, etc....
i would recommend CM 6.1.1,(vanilla android) it is android 2.2 and widely knows as the most stable rom in this forum ,and it comes with oc kernel built in , and just to let you know, you don't need to root and s-off every time you change your rom
also you could try CM7 nighties ,that is android 2.3 and it could be run as a every day rom even though the stable version is not out yet.
you could try different roms set them the way you like it and take a back up so you can always go back.
Titanium has worked for most, but not all apps I've removed in the past (some of the Bell bloatware on that version of the Desire Z). Absolute System Root Tool is a paid app that has worked for me when Titanium did not, and there are other methods also, I'm sure.
Be careful, as some applications you mentioned are pretty integral to Sense (particularly Facebook and Stocks), and might break some things if you remove them. I would definitely backup the ROM before trying to delete them, if you are not already.
Maybe a stupid question but have you got S-off?
For some reason when you restart it checks wich software is installed and that's is something the S-off does....
Yes, I have S-Off.
Now, If I can ask a stupid question, what procedure did you use to debrand your Z, and which official ROM did you use? I haven't kept up recently, but when I first got my Z in December, debranding to the stock HTC ROM required making a gold card and doing some hex editing since the stock Euro ROM was older than the Bell one. It was a bit intimidating to me, and I haven't so far had a huge reason to change ROMs (the shipped ROM has been great so far, after removing the bloat). And the whole issue became a bit confusing and muddled to me, since I believe there have been more recent official ROMs released since December (which would not require the hex editing?). On the other hand, I have no real reason for staying on the Bell ROM other than laziness.
I debranded my Bell D-Z to Generic Euro 1.34 (requires full S-OFF, check the tutorial for dummies), then flashed an overclocked 1.4GHz kernel (Godspeed update)
That's all I need: a plain 2.2 with Sense (until I put my hands on 2.3 )
found a perfect guide managed to get rid of alot of stock apps i dont use ie stocks weather etc and i learned how to use cmd line also titanium backup never worked

im a newbie to this phone,
what is the best for my phone.
pls help me.
Click to collapse
I think that is personal, and depends of what you want from your phone. I didnĀ“t like the stock eclair ROM. I prefer using Gingerbread which is based on cyanongenmod for other devices.
Froyo and Gingerbread ARE Cyanogen...
i recommend you froyobread, bugless and easy to use..
For me, I worked my way up to the latest OS, that way I got to experience them all, which gave me an overall opinion of which I liked most and that is Gingerbread. Give it a try, what could you lose?
try froyobread v23b, it's based on froyo
it's final release and bugless
but if you don't mind updating like every 2 days
try ginger dx, it's based on gingerbread
still in development so you might find any bug.

Here you go!
it's for new peeps here!
Try froyobread V.022 (Froyo) if you want xperia active launcher try V.023 but V.023 Optimized all listview and improved 2d perfomace scrolling/flinging disabled
Try GingerDX V.06 (Gingerbread) it's stable enough but it's still have bugs on Rooted file explorer (busybox problem)
I've used floyo... and now i use GingerDX

[Q] Wht is the best rom to update?

Hey
I still have Froyo on my U8800 and I want to update to a flawless rom
wht shall I choose
official GB
oxygen
Aurora
....etc
It deppends of what do you want to do with your phone.
Install all the tree and make your choice
Sent from my Huawei Ideos X5 using xda premium
well I want...
improved functions
radio
longer battery life
no essential fails (like no haptic feedback or missing wifi ..etc like the official GB)
play games that froyo can't
i think you must try it one by one.
I would choose a .32 kernel based ROM, as they are still more stable at the moment. Oxygen by dzo would be my first choice
Which rom is stable and less bug?
i am newbie..
I Have Tried Lots Of ROM. I Can Say Best ROM It CM7 Till Now.
The first thing I did when I bought my phone summer last year, was root it and install a custom rom. Didn't even boot it to look at the stock set up first!
First rom I installed was Oxygen, and I have it say it worked great. Stable, fast, good battery life, and never had any problems.
Last month I decided I needed a change, not because there was anything wrong with Oxygen, but just because once in a while I like to play around with different roms.
Tried Aurora, and have to say it's great. Not quite as speedy as Oxygen and battery doesn't last as long, but pretty and damn stable, haven't had a crash yet.
Tried MIUI one afternoon, but not to my liking, too far from the Android experience imo.
Can't go wrong with either Oxygen or Aurora, depending on what you're looking for.

X8 Battery Life

Hi All,
Stephen here, new to XDA. Not sure if this is the right place to post.
I'm looking for advice to help extend my Xperia X8 battery life. I have a rooted Xperia X8 running stock rom and kernal (android 2.1), manufacture details 10W42.
I use my xperia X8 solely as a bike computer because it has in-built ant+ receiver but its use is limited up to approx 2hrs due to battery life . My main question is are there any custom Rom's available which do not effect the ant+ protocol that is installed at manufacture and that extend the battery life substantially. I would require 3-4hrs on constant screen on with a bike gps app (IpBike) running so that I can use the xperia X8 as a bike computer.
I'm a software developer so flashing roms and kernals shouldn't be an issue. I would guess that a later version of android would probably help!
thanks
I can you recommend a good roms that I've tried (do not know about the battery life, I think it's good for both roms)
1. GingerDX v031b ( android v 2.3.7 ) for stock kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486
2. ROM 5.1.1 Super Lite for Xperia X8/W8 ( android v 2.3.7 ) for stock kernel - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzGb2aHCz2w6TjZoT0ItMFBvNjQ/view
Requirements:
Rooted
ClockworkMod Recovery (v014+)
Baseband 015
!!!very important!! use only those roms for stock kernel
currently I'm using this " 2. ROM 5.1.1 Super Lite for Xperia X8/W8 " and am quite happy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG27T_ZRqzk
