Urgent Data Problem - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Tmous Leo
2.15.50 Radio
latest Magldr and CWM
It doesn't matter what NAND rom I flash, I get no data whatsoever. The phone says I have full 3G signal, but I cannot get a downstream, can't text, can't make calls. Pongsters' hyperdroidGBXv9 worked for a while this morning, but a few hours later in the day everything dropped out again. Everything else works perfectly fine. Urgency is because I'm about to leave on a roadtrip, and I need a working phone in case of emergency. I've tried both of Pongsters' Roms, TyphooN_CM7, and a slew of the Tmous specific ones, but to no avail. I did a proper wipe between every swap, and it also appears that I can always get an upstream, just not a downstream.

Going to try switching from Magldr to CLK and go PPP, see if that helps at all. Intermittent data is better than no data.

I think my radio is fried. Please Help!

I have an 8125 that I put the new TNT (WinMo 6.1) on over a week ago. Everything worked great. After 7 days of working beautifully with no problems or dropped calls, suddenly my radio quit working, at times showing intermittent signal but never allowing a call or text to go out or in. Then my phone spontaneously restarted and began glitching out (things slowed down, Voice Command quit working, etc.).
I flashed back to T-Mobile 2.26 and everything stabilized, but the radio still didn't work and now consistently shows no signal. I tried flashing various radios, including T-Mobile 2.19 UK, with the same result. I flashed back to Button's ROM, down to IPL/SPL 1.01/1.01, and everything works still except for the radio.
Did TNT fry my radio? Has anyone experienced anything similar? I am relatively new at this and desperate for help.
After some more testing, it turns out that somehow my SIM card was the problem. I don't know if it was related to any of the ROMs I had flashed, or simply because the card was old. Anyway, problem solved. If a mod wants to delete this thread, I say go for it.

[Q] NAND Random reboots??

Am I the only one who get random reboot every now and then. Typically those happens when phone is stand-by mode. And when it happens then it normally reboots 2-3 times and after that it is stable again... Is there any way to avoid them??
I've tried at least 6-7 different ROMs and this happens with every of them...
And I have done task29 and so on and without task29 and so on.... Damn, this is frustrating...
Now at the moment I am quite happy... only 2-4 reboots per day with version [Feb 02][DL DesireZ v3.4][DL Data2SD/Ext4 v2.7][Nand/SD/MAGLAR]
this can actually be caused because of some gps problems.. I dont think the problem is with your phone.. It's with the ROM i think..
you can try one of the gingerbread roms ? i haven't had any reboot problems running gingerbread.
The only time I've had reboots is when using setcpu - and undervolting the phone too much. If you use setcpu, try raising the min and max slightly to see if it helps.
Sent from my HD2 NANDroid using XDA App
i got the same issue :/
the phone randomly reboots... i tried different radios and roms but makes no difference.
But since Mgdlr 1.13 i just got one reboot last 24h with latest radio + gpc ginger v1.5
Are there logs at the android system to post here?
provider?
I have the random reboots since i've switched to a mvlo virtual provider in austria (bob). maybe there is a problem with the radio? i get NO reboots in flightmode
@artn3r: hi, same problem here! i'm also on bob.at and i had random reboots with any android build i've tested so far.
but with the hint of an other boardmember i didn't have any reboots since 2 days. i just switched the network mode from "automatic" to "wcdma only".
maybe this is a possibilty for some of you dev's out there to fix that problem!?
Thanks, i'll try!!!
thank's. i'll try it
but this is not a good option, because if the reception is bad, you get no calls at all
sorry guys......
1 hour ago i had the last reboot. so this is not the reason for these f....... reboots.
This text already exists in an another topic, but since this topic is dedicated to this problem, I decided to copy it here as well.
I MIGHT have found a solution to this problem!
Here's a little story about my HD2:
I bought my device about a year ago. The device was equipped with stock Winmo 6.5 with WWE 1.66 (sadly I don't remember the radio number). No problems with it. After a while, I decided update to the latest stock ROM WWE 3.14 (radio 2.15.50.14). Everything worked fine, exept I started having random reboots on idle. The phone didn't reboot on use, only in idle (sleep mode). It could stay on as long as 4-10 hours, or as little as few minutes.
I started to look solution to this problem, but couldn't find it. Then I decided to get a custom ROM, which was one of the Artemis builds. The rebooting issue vanished.
Couple of days ago, I decided swith to nand Android ("Stock" NAND Android ROM). Everything worked very well, exept the rebooting problem came back. I tried different Android versions, radio versions and everything else. Nothing worked.
Now we get to the part which could fix this problem once and for all. Not only in different Android builds, but also in Winmo 6.5 and possibly in WP7.
The solution is to change the automatic network selection to manual! Since there is no clear manual selection in Android, you have to go to settings and manually select the preferred network from the list. I don't know if this is the permanent solution, because it's impossible to choose one and only network, but as long as the reception is good and you don't reboot your device, it should work. I haven't tested if the manual selection disables when rebooting the device. However you can always manually select the network and by doing this you should avoid random reboots on idle.
So the problem shouldn't be in your device, memory card or your custom ROM. The problem is somehow related to the automatic network selection. The actual problem could be in the sim card, or your service provider, or even in the ROM, but you can fix this by manually selecting the network.
This fix also worked with the stock Winmo 6.5 with WWE 3.14 (radio 2.15.50.14) where I had these same problems in the past.
I have now used the HD2 for three days without rebooting. I hope it works for everyone else as well.
I definetly need to test this... And it is so easy Just put pin code asking back ;=)

Report me back, if this fix worked, because it gives me some reassurance that my phone is going to work in the future, without the annoying reboots.
Four days without rebooting. Fingers crossed.

Moro! Itse olen käyttänyt HD2:sella Rafdroid HD:tä versioita 1.0, 2.0-2.4 ja 3.0 ja kaikissa on ollut tää inhottava random-boot hommeli.. pitääkin testata jos tuo manual network selection auttaa asiaa, kiitos vinkistä
Hello! I've been using Rafdroid HD:s all versions in my HD2 and always I have random booting.. I should test if that manual network selection helps, thanks for advice!
The couse
I think I know what couses the reboots on my phone.
The reboots only happen when i am on 3G. I know this becouse when im at home i dont have 3g but at work i have 3g. And reboots only happen when im at work.
Anyone that can confirm this?

The reason why you are experiencing random reboots, might be caused by your service provider. Because many people here in Finland, who have service provider called "Saunalahti", have the random reboot issue, when using the automatic network selection. However, when I use a different service provider, I don't have these issues. This is also the reason, why we are not all suffering from the same problem.
I have now switched to nand RAFDROID 3.0 and immeaditly turned of the automatic network selection and I haven't had any rebooting problems. So it seems that at least for some of us, turning of the automatic network selection will resolve the random reboot problem.
Thanks, I am going to try this. My phone has a tendancy to reboot everytime I am in the UK. In my own country, Holland, I don't seem to have this problem as much, only once a week maybe. This seems to support the theory mentioned above.
Thanks again.
i had same prob
i've had the same problems on my hd2, only it didn't reset on idle. i've send it to te factory, for waranty. luckely i stil was on winmo 6.5.
3 weeks later i've got it back with new mainbord and battery and now it works fine
Hello all, i seem to be suffering the same reboot problems. Been running NAND android since it came out with no problems. Now i get random reboots.
Where do i go to change the network selection to manual? is it in *#*#4636#*#*
Thanks!

[Q] "NEED HELP" keep losing signal

OK for the past week arround the time I first installed MGLDR 13 my Signal has been dropping out totally. When I use the data connection. Everything goes out I have no 3G,H,or any barrs at all for about 30 seconds. Then it comes back strong as ever then out again over and over. I have had this phone for almost a year now and have never experienced these problems. My speeds have always been great 5m DL and 2m UL.
Things I have done to try and fix this that have not worked are
re-install MGLDR 11, Flash like 3 different roms, Flash a new radio, Task29, Flashed Energy's newest WinMo build even in winmo I was having the same signal loss so I eventually put MGLDR 13 back on my phone and installed Android again but none of this has fixed my issue
Does anyony have this problem and can anyone advise what I should do next?
i do it happens to me all the time i dont know why ??
I have selected GSM only in network settings and my cell signal is stable now but my data is SUPER DUPER slow. This is in no way a fix for me I pay good $ for fast DATA and should be able to still have good cell signal with it
anyone have an idea?
Yeah I'm having a very similar problem. My calls and SMS work fine but as for data, horrible.
I get this a lot:
"A network error has occurred. Retry,
or cancel and return to the previous
screen."

[Q] "No Service" Phone no longer connects to T-mobile

Not too sure what happened but ill explain the best I can. This morning I woke up, checked After about 15 minutes of use, I realized that I was no longer able to send any texts. Powered the phone off and back on, and now it says "No Service". However I am in a place where I usually get completely fine service. I have tried rebooting through the OS, pressing the yellow reset button, pulling the battery, and hard resets in clockwork mod as well as Magldr. In Clockwork, Ive tried wiping all user data multiple times, and flashed 3 different roms. Still nothing.
Currently I am on a MIUI rom (MIUI-NDT Stable v2.2) with a 2.15.50.14 radio. Ive gone through about 7 roms with this phone and have never had an issue like this pop up.
I tried the Hardware fix, and that did nothing.
After messing with network settings, and selecting t-mobile manually, then switching it back to automatic, I now have full bars, but still no data, and am unable to make a call or do anything for that matter.

[Q] Weird reception dropping issue

Hey all,
I'm having an issue with my S4 i9505. I loaded a custom ROM onto it and have an issue where the mobile signal would completely cut out 2-3 minutes after booting. After booting it works fine with full signal strength, can make calls and receive data etc. Then all of a sudden it will just drop off and not come back unless I reboot the phone. It seems like the radio just turns itself off. Everything else works fine on the phone.
I've tried flashing the stock ROM back on and tried a few different modem firmwares, wiping cache and data to no avail. Also tried a different SIM which has the same issue.
Any suggestions please?
