I have an 8125 that I put the new TNT (WinMo 6.1) on over a week ago. Everything worked great. After 7 days of working beautifully with no problems or dropped calls, suddenly my radio quit working, at times showing intermittent signal but never allowing a call or text to go out or in. Then my phone spontaneously restarted and began glitching out (things slowed down, Voice Command quit working, etc.).
I flashed back to T-Mobile 2.26 and everything stabilized, but the radio still didn't work and now consistently shows no signal. I tried flashing various radios, including T-Mobile 2.19 UK, with the same result. I flashed back to Button's ROM, down to IPL/SPL 1.01/1.01, and everything works still except for the radio.
Did TNT fry my radio? Has anyone experienced anything similar? I am relatively new at this and desperate for help.
After some more testing, it turns out that somehow my SIM card was the problem. I don't know if it was related to any of the ROMs I had flashed, or simply because the card was old. Anyway, problem solved. If a mod wants to delete this thread, I say go for it.

Hi, hope not to disturb you guys with this new thread but I really have a crazy problem on my device: for about a week it looses signal from time to time, especially when in 3g network coverage. Not so strange till now, but I have this issue : during a phone call I suddenly stop hearing the other and the call counter keeps working. It just doesn't want to stop no matter what I press ( red hardware button, touch end call key etc) !! So the call remains active unless I reset the device or wait for about 3 minutes when the call finally stops and the phone looses it's signal for few seconds and finds it again... so I can speak with someone for 20 seconds or more and the thing that I described happens...imagine how ugly is this.
What could it be? is it a hardware problem? I flashed another rom and radio but the problem persisted. Someone reported me a similar issue on his tytn 2 but he solved with a new rom and radio. For me it didn't work
I have two more problems but will describe them later, hope to get some response on this one first...
Regards
What rom do you have flashed, what radio rom, and what carrier are you on?
Have you flashed HardSPL/CID/sim unlocked?
Also: Have you tried the shipped (stock) rom/radio?
If it stays with more than one rom/radio rom, it might be a hardware problem.
Yes, flashed hardspl, sim and CID unlock long time ago. I currently have Schap's 4.30 ( previously had Schap's 4.31) and radio 1.47.30.10 ( had 1.56... don't remember exactly). What's 'shipped' rom/radio?
I think I'll try one or two roms/radio and if it persists...that's it...may it rest in peace.
The roms the carriers put out, see here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
And, if it keeps up with different roms and radios, then, it probs is RIP, maybe look around the forum to see if there's a hardware fix.
Anyone else having bad service? I currently have the latest radio, js 1.5 build. Its been going on for like a week. I'm debating on switching back to the previous radio to see if that will fix the problem. I'm also guessing maybe it has to do with the lx just being released.
My G1 is going nuts switching to Edge and GPRS back and forth for the last 2 days.
i just reflashed the latest radio, and everything seems fine again
I've had network disconnection issues with the 2.22.19.26I radio so I flashed back to the 2.22.19.23 & all has been well so far.
FYI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=515624
Although I am not 100% sure on how this works, I called T-Mobile and had them "reset my connection". Had to turn the phone off for 5 minutes and when I booted up, I have had zero issues since.
She said sometimes the phone will find a tower and get "locked" to it. If you go outside of it's range, you lose your signal. Not sure exactly what the real truth behind this is but whatever she did fixed the problems...
Running 26I
I'm using 2.22.19.26I radio on JDv1.5 and haven't had any problems. I reboot frequently, though, not sure if there's anything there.
I've had my magic (rogers 32a) for about 6 months, and a few days ago developed a major issue.
Everything was fine, I was running Cursorsense rom. I found battery life was short on that rom, so I flashed Marsdroid. This seemed better, and I used it fine for almost a week. Then Thursday (a week after I made any changes to it), my phone was off, so I turned it on. It just sat at the rogers screen forever, even an hour later it was still sitting there.
I could get into recovery fine, could mount it as usb storage from recovery fine.
I wiped it from recovery, and rebooted, but it had the same issue.
I was able to get it to boot twice, both times the SIM card was out. Not sure if that was coincidence or not, as several other times with the SIM card out it wouldn't boot. Even those two times it took much longer then normal. I did replace the SIM incase it was bad, but the problem remained.
So I eventually decided to try reflashing. I flashed cursorsense back onto it, and the phone seemed to be fine again after that. I decided to goto a newer rom after a half day though. So I loaded a 2.1 dump from the Eris. This also was working fine for over a day. then I rebooted it again today, and now it's doing the same sitting at rogers logo.
This is before I get any of the HTC logos, the Rogers logo comes on as soon as I power on.
Any thoughts? This is 6.35 radio and the newer spl. Any chance memory is getting corrupted that reflashing fixes temporarily.
No one?
It booted up again now, not sure why it's so intermittent.
Also noticed it appears my speaker in the ear isn't working? if I call someone, I don't hear it ringing from the earpiece, or hear the person speaking. if I hit speakerphone button, it works, as does bluetooth.
Guess I should probably just warranty it. If I flash the stock rogers update, will that erase any evidence of the roms I've had loaded on here? (clear out amon recovery and the like). The problem appears to be a hardware issue, so it's not like a rom bricked it or anything, so I don't think it's taking advantage of rogers.
Morning everyone,
During last weekend I went to Birmingham and was using TomTom on my Hima (6.5 swampy ROM). While going towards Birmingham the phone was fine however once I got to Birmingham, it suddenly restarted. I thought maybe it crashed so I waited for the ROM to come back up.
Once it came back, it was running very slow. I switched on TomTom again and yet again it restarted. I again waited for it to come back on but this time when it came back on, it restarted again. It restarted around 5-8 times.
I was very frustrated since all my contacts were on the phone and not on the SIM nor I knew the direction to get to my friend house. I plugged the phone into the Ciggerete lighter (to charge it), and it worked fine for a while. Once I came back home I uninstalled few programs off it so that it can have some free memory. Yet it restarted again.
I then hard reset the phone yet it still getting stuck and getting rebooted at random times. I then downgraded it to 1.72 Old Original ROM with 1.7 Radio. At the time it worked fine so I updated it back to 6.5 with 1.9 Radio and so far it is working ok-ish.
My question is, is it the ROM or the Battery which is causing this issue? I mean it has been running stable until I tried to use TomTom for directions. I have tried 2 other 6.5 ROMs, yet after importing my contacts the Hima was running very slow. So I went back to Swampy ROM.
Sorry for a long post and I'd say some points it sounds random but that is due to very early time here .
Has anyone else experienced the same issue with their hima?
Regards
Jay
Hey guys i have had some issues with my cell phone lately (hd2 tmous).
3-4 times a day i lose my signal completely and the only way to get it back is to restart the device. Sometimes my device even displays
I have tried using different radios as well no luck
that the simcard has been removed, i have tried everything
also it happens whether im at home, school or work, i live in an area that gets great reception so that should not be the problem.
messing with the band to keep it at gsm only
reverted back to auto
removed and replaced sim card
hard reset, new rom, stock rom, i always task29 before new rom as well
does this happen to anyone else, any ideas on what the problem may be?
A factory reset with formatting the memory is on the cards I think

i just received a new sd card and it used to happen with my old formatted one, im not sure that would work? although it wouldnt hurt to see if it happens without the sd card in it.
It happens to me. Maybe a few times a week, though it will regain signal after a minute or few minutes. Sometimes I toggle the phone option off/on. Maybe that helps or maybe not. Rarely do I have to power down the phone, though I have done it a couple of time when I'm in a hurry.
It used to happen more often with the stock ROM from April of this year. Since I've upgraded a couple of times, it's gotten better. Hopefully the latest 3.14 ROM has fixed it some more.
have you complained to tmobile??? Maybe you need a new phone.

Browsing between topics of the H2 this one came to my attention.
I have exact the same issue! I also had it with my htc diamond. I moth ago when I received my HD2 (non branded) I thought it would be over. But no. it keeps losing signal. Freakingly annoying. I called tmobile (Netherlands sins i am from the Netherlands) and they would send me kindly enough a new sim.
But still…. The same issue.
I also did a hard reset, new ROM (cant go back to 1.33) and tried another phone. I gather it is a htc issue and some bad luck.
I didn’t had the error sim removed.
ok so i went about half a day with the sd card out and when i woke up this morning no signal again.
I gave t-mobile a call and explained to them what was going on. I was transferred to a pda/smartphone specialist, although i would say that any xda community member was more knowoledgeable than this rep. Anyway she asked me a couple of questions said there were no known issues and that i will receive a replacement phone and sim in 7 days and to return the old one phone. Hopefully with the new phone and sim i wont have this issue, im guessing they think its a hardware related problem. It bugs me that cheap crappy phones have no problem holding a signal and my top of the line hd2 does but lets hope had a faulty connection or something.

Your problem (most likely) lies with a bad combination of Rom and Radio.
I know you have tried several radios, but you simply missed the compatible one.

see my posts in that thread.
apart from my provider having problems every now and then, I have not lost my connection again after flashing the right Radio.

i have tried both the 2.13 stock rom radio and then the stock 3.14 combo both did not work.
resolved
received the new phone 3 days ago, so far have not lost service. It must have been a hardware issue with my phone. im using the same radio rom as the old phone except no signal loss, for anyone who is having the issue it may be worth calling tmobile to exchange your phone for a new/refurbished one.
