Hi, hope not to disturb you guys with this new thread but I really have a crazy problem on my device: for about a week it looses signal from time to time, especially when in 3g network coverage. Not so strange till now, but I have this issue : during a phone call I suddenly stop hearing the other and the call counter keeps working. It just doesn't want to stop no matter what I press ( red hardware button, touch end call key etc) !! So the call remains active unless I reset the device or wait for about 3 minutes when the call finally stops and the phone looses it's signal for few seconds and finds it again... so I can speak with someone for 20 seconds or more and the thing that I described happens...imagine how ugly is this.
What could it be? is it a hardware problem? I flashed another rom and radio but the problem persisted. Someone reported me a similar issue on his tytn 2 but he solved with a new rom and radio. For me it didn't work
I have two more problems but will describe them later, hope to get some response on this one first...
Regards
What rom do you have flashed, what radio rom, and what carrier are you on?
Have you flashed HardSPL/CID/sim unlocked?
Also: Have you tried the shipped (stock) rom/radio?
If it stays with more than one rom/radio rom, it might be a hardware problem.
Yes, flashed hardspl, sim and CID unlock long time ago. I currently have Schap's 4.30 ( previously had Schap's 4.31) and radio 1.47.30.10 ( had 1.56... don't remember exactly). What's 'shipped' rom/radio?
I think I'll try one or two roms/radio and if it persists...that's it...may it rest in peace.
The roms the carriers put out, see here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
And, if it keeps up with different roms and radios, then, it probs is RIP, maybe look around the forum to see if there's a hardware fix.

Ok I don't know if it is a problem I created, or a Rogers network problem. I am on Rogers AT&T in British Columbia Canada.
I have an HTC TYTN
Flashed to Windows Mobil 6, running Black Satin
Radio Version 1.50.0.0
When someone calls the phone, they can hear it ring 4 or 5 times and then it goes to voice mail. However my phone itself might ring once and then just says 1 missed call. Sometimes it won't ring at all. I can make calls just fine.
I need to fix this ASAP.
Can anyone suggest a Radio version that might fix the problem, or is there any known bugs with certain Roms (WM6 builds)
Any help will be useful.
Thanks
David aka Capt Fiero
change radio rom
or
backup and hard reset,
jdac21
Can I even do a hard reset seeing as I have changed the boot loader 3 times, the radio 3 times and went from WM5 to 2 diffrent version of WM6. When you say do a hard reset, you mean hold the power button and the OK button and hit the reset. Or is there another way of doing it that I am not aware of ?
Do you have a suggestion on which radio to change to. I think you suggested Radio version 1.51 in another thread. Which will be my next step in trying to sort this issue out, unless someone suggests going down to a lower version.
I only learned how to change radio and rom versions yesterday morning, and I have already flashed so much in and out I am starting to get comfortable with it, I just don't want to blindly flash without enough info on what I am flashing into.
try 1.51 and see
Thanks for the Tip, just goes to show that sometimes the info you are looking for is right under your nose. I did a search for Radio 1.51 and in the first 2 seconds of searching I found several threads from people having the exact same problem as me using the 1.50.0.0 radio. Calls going straight to voicemail and or not ringing on the phone. Most said the 1.51 radio fixed the problems.
So Thank You again for the suggestion. I am currently updating the radio as we speak. (using a diffrent computer to make this post)
I will post back with the results.
Yipee, it worked, I just finsihed the flash and am now running Radio 1.51 and the phone now rings after the first ring is heard when being called from a Land Line.
Thank You.
Hi everyone,
I'm sure this question has been asked before but I searched Google as well as here, but couldn't find any trace.
My problem is that, from time to time, GSM functionality on my Windows Mobile 6 HTC Hermes stops to respond even if I press the 'Call' button or launch the 'Phone' application. If I try to call my no. from different line, it rings, but no activity on the HTC. A soft reset usually fixes this, but this means I'm missing alot of calls. The same goes for WiFi (Although I know the Radio ROM has nothing to do WiFi) from time to time, it will just keep on searching although I'm within the same distance it usually connects and if I open 'WiFi' option under 'Connections' I can see the network being available.
I've read somewhere that, both these problems are caused by applications on the SD Card, and it advised to 'Defrag' the card from time to time. I'm not sure if there any other fixes for this.
Many thanks for reading.
Regards.
well I have pretty same problem in my new (Kaiser HTC TYTN II) I can't stablish a phone call, because it is cancelled in 10 seconds max.
I really don't know what more to do (desperated). This happened in the opriginal wm6(with radio 1.27.x), then I tested with a cooked rom from dutty(radio 1.65.x), same problem in both.
I really don't know what more to do, it is unusable.

I experienced the same thing with my Vario II WM5. HardReset the phone, do not install any applications for a few days. If the problem subsides it was due to some applications that you might have installed on the Storage Card. Install applications on the Device once you are ok with the device.
Had a similar problem on my tytn, I described it in another post.Couplu months ago my phone started to loose signal from time to time, especially during phone calls...and these losses continued till it lost the signal for good. When booting in the first days of the issue it show me the 'NO GSM' line, and after another few days the red lines that indicate the radio version and protocol (G and R) show the line "NONE" . So , a working pda but no phone...tried hard spls, flashed duzins of radios and roms, nothing solved it...till yesterday, after two months of an almost dead and forgoten device. I made a SuperCID +Sim unlock with the common tool for hermes, and it came back to life!! not to forgot that the device was cid-unlocked already (a year ago I think).
So the signal came back as it was new....I then made hard spl and flashed the latest radio (1.54.30.10) because the radio installed by the Cid unlock tool didn't let the device to start data connections. And everything's fine now...hope to be useful with this. Just try Cid/Sim Unlock if you have bad radio issues.
Hello! 1 hour ago I discovered another problem with my Qtek 9100. My phone was ringing, but the display was showing nothing, no incoming call, nothing at all. The phone had resumed from stand-by and in the bottom left corner was showing "CALL STATUS". I pressed the END button, the SEND button and button under "CALL STATUS". Nothing happened and the phone was still ringing. I soft reset the phone by pressing the stand-by button for 5 seconds. Turned the phone on and looked in CALL HISTORY. There wasn't any new call in there. I thought it was my girlfriend, so I called her back and confirmed that she was calling me in that moment. The problem is that she ended the call after 2 "rings", but my phone kept ringing until I soft reseted it (I heard the sound at least 6-7 times -I have windows default ring-). After that I tried to call my number from another phone, and the Qtek was working fine.
What should I do to solve this problem? Is there a problem with the radio version?
Thank you very much!
Maybe....
But men!!! welcome to Windows Mobile world hahahaha the softresets are so helpfulll hahaha enjoy this iste men we are for help.
Maybe is the Radio rom maybe not cause it works fine then isnt it?
So please before upgrade anything more please unlock your phone with HardSPL process and read very well ok?
bye.
RAdio ROM
What version of WM are you running?... when I upgrade my Wizard to WM6 got the same problem, I fixed it by changing to Radio ROM 2.19.11 (t-mobile).
This is supposed to be the best one. Or try other Radio roms until the problem is solved.
Hope this helps

I dont know, my Wizard runs on SNN ROM WM 6.1)),(IPL/SPL 2.26,GSM 02.25.1, OS 10.0.0.10) for more than half year. I had same problems, in this period a few times only. Bt somethimes I cant see a callerID. Soft reset was only solution, I am tired of changing ROMs
Hey guys i have had some issues with my cell phone lately (hd2 tmous).
3-4 times a day i lose my signal completely and the only way to get it back is to restart the device. Sometimes my device even displays
I have tried using different radios as well no luck
that the simcard has been removed, i have tried everything
also it happens whether im at home, school or work, i live in an area that gets great reception so that should not be the problem.
messing with the band to keep it at gsm only
reverted back to auto
removed and replaced sim card
hard reset, new rom, stock rom, i always task29 before new rom as well
does this happen to anyone else, any ideas on what the problem may be?
A factory reset with formatting the memory is on the cards I think

i just received a new sd card and it used to happen with my old formatted one, im not sure that would work? although it wouldnt hurt to see if it happens without the sd card in it.
It happens to me. Maybe a few times a week, though it will regain signal after a minute or few minutes. Sometimes I toggle the phone option off/on. Maybe that helps or maybe not. Rarely do I have to power down the phone, though I have done it a couple of time when I'm in a hurry.
It used to happen more often with the stock ROM from April of this year. Since I've upgraded a couple of times, it's gotten better. Hopefully the latest 3.14 ROM has fixed it some more.
have you complained to tmobile??? Maybe you need a new phone.

Browsing between topics of the H2 this one came to my attention.
I have exact the same issue! I also had it with my htc diamond. I moth ago when I received my HD2 (non branded) I thought it would be over. But no. it keeps losing signal. Freakingly annoying. I called tmobile (Netherlands sins i am from the Netherlands) and they would send me kindly enough a new sim.
But still…. The same issue.
I also did a hard reset, new ROM (cant go back to 1.33) and tried another phone. I gather it is a htc issue and some bad luck.
I didn’t had the error sim removed.
ok so i went about half a day with the sd card out and when i woke up this morning no signal again.
I gave t-mobile a call and explained to them what was going on. I was transferred to a pda/smartphone specialist, although i would say that any xda community member was more knowoledgeable than this rep. Anyway she asked me a couple of questions said there were no known issues and that i will receive a replacement phone and sim in 7 days and to return the old one phone. Hopefully with the new phone and sim i wont have this issue, im guessing they think its a hardware related problem. It bugs me that cheap crappy phones have no problem holding a signal and my top of the line hd2 does but lets hope had a faulty connection or something.

Your problem (most likely) lies with a bad combination of Rom and Radio.
I know you have tried several radios, but you simply missed the compatible one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614119
see my posts in that thread.
apart from my provider having problems every now and then, I have not lost my connection again after flashing the right Radio.

i have tried both the 2.13 stock rom radio and then the stock 3.14 combo both did not work.
resolved
received the new phone 3 days ago, so far have not lost service. It must have been a hardware issue with my phone. im using the same radio rom as the old phone except no signal loss, for anyone who is having the issue it may be worth calling tmobile to exchange your phone for a new/refurbished one.
Hey dear devs,
so ive got a little problem. Im a flashjunkie and tried all the different firmwares. All eclair firmwares JM1/3/5/8/9 went fine for me and i had no problems, but since the first froyo (JPC) ive tested, ive got a little problem with froyo.
First some things about me and my phone. I live in germany, my provider is o2, and i also bought a brandet o2-phone. The first day i got it, i flashed to JM5 and unbrandet it, but now to my problem:
My phone hangs somtimes and very sporadic (1-2 times a week) normally after longer calls >10 minutes.
But let me explain a little deeper. It first appears with JPC (my first froyo).
Im doing a longer call and when i finish i take the phone of my ear and have a look an the display to end the call. But i cant click the hangup button. The green listener symbol in the upper left corner is there and blinking. The only thing i can do is to press the menu-button to get back to my homescreen. All is working fine then, but i cant do or recieve any calls because the upper-left green listener symbol is still there and blinking.
When i try to go to flightmode the phone normally hangs completely, only a reboot is fixing the problem. I also had the prob one time within a call. I was on the phone and suddenly my partner was gone.. i didnt hear anything and he also didnt hear anything. Same symptoms: green listener symbol blinking, and when trying to switch to flight mode, the phone crashes. Only reboot is working.
This problem appears in ALL froyo firmwares i tested (JPC, JPK, JPM, JPO), and yes a wiped, i cleared all caches, i reflashed all the firmwares, flashed with kies, flashed with odin (with and without repartition). So i did all the stuff we all used to do to get this problem fixed...
I first thought it was a failure of the beta-firwares, but also the JPO has the problem. There is one thing that might have to do with it... I live a little bit outside of the town and in my house i have a low signal. The problem appears in 9 of 10 cases in the house until now. That might be bad luck, because its very sporadic, and normally i do longer calls only when im at home... But it may also be part of the problem, perhaps because my phone wants to change the to another umts-provider, that has a better signal?
I also thougt that it may be a sim-problem, because my sim is about 5 years old. But i ordered a brandnew sim from o2 and yesterday i had the failure again. It only appears after or right in the call.
Has anyone experienced same problems? Or can help me find out what problem i have?
Thx for all answers
Cheers, Donald!
hi!
yes, i can second that! i have exactly the same problem with my o2-germany-provided SGS, even though I unbranded it by applying the scandinavian froyo-beta via registry hack. So far I did not find any solution. Sometimes this even happens during rahter short calls of 10-15 min. Too bad
Yes i can confirm the Problem. I'm with O2 Germany too. First I thought it is a Problem with both party's hanging up the same time. But I couldn't reproduce the problem at will...
So, the only thing, we can do at the moment is to wait for official o2 brandet firmware. Does anyone know when it will be released?
Greetz DN
Until now i haven't heard about a release date...
also on jf3!!!
i've got the same problem! but i had this bug already on stock eclair jf3!
so i updated via kies to official jpo ( i also tried jpc, jpm, jp6) and my phone still hangs sometimes. is it possible thats just a strange behavior on sgs with o2 germany?
or is there anybody else (other country or carrier) getting the same issues?
i get this bug every third call (when calling longer than 30 minutes)
....
hmm.. perhaps we found something that causes this o2-bug... There is a discussion in the german forum android-hilfe and there is mentioned that the homezone-indicator signal might be the failure, that you might have enabled.
So what about you? Have you also enabled this feature?
Today i called the O2 hot line and they told me that O2 did not receive the Froyo update from Samsung yet. So they haven't had a chance to test the Froyo release. That mens we have to wait for Samsung to give the update to German carryers for testing. I mean if they encounter the problem too they will fix it since it is a real annoying bug.
Look also at this boards and threads about the same issue:
ht_tp_: / /_ww w._ handy-faq._ de/forum/ samsung_i9000_galaxy_s_forum /174359-probleme_empfang.html (german, translate. google. de may help )
ht_tp_:_//_forum._o2online._de/t5/ Handys-und-Zubeh%C3%B6r/ Galaxy-S-Froyo-o2-WCDMA-massive-Probleme/ m-p/58562#M7640
(remove spaces between first parts of the links, as - unfortunately - I'm not allowed to post links cause of my "newbie" status )
I've got the same issues (hang after/while phonecall, aborted call, no net service and so on..)
Same problem here!
BUT mine locks up every 30 Minutes!
And I use drei.at (Austrian Provider) NOT O2.
So it seems, that its not a specific Problem within O2 only
Andy
happened to me once...but SGS unbranded with O2 sim...
Hey,
i have the same prob. When the phone lies all the night and some1 wants to call me at the next morning i'm not reachable. every morning. 100%
now i installed the i9000xxjm3 modem. lets see if it fix the prob;-)

Hi,
there is finally news on that.
O2 meanwhile confirmed the issue to be connected to the homezone display in the Froyo firmwares.
They propose a solution where they delete the homezone data from the SIM card without affecting the homezone functionality as such. Just the homezone icon will not be displayed anymore.
So the assumption it has something to do with the O2 homezone became true.
Here is the thread (sorry, its German) in the official O2 forum:
http://forum.o2online.de/t5/Geräte-...-o2-WCDMA-massive-Probleme/td-p/45714/page/27
I just wonder if some clever developer here could even remove the homezone icon functionality out of the firmware. I somehow do not trust O2 to come up with their solution quickly enough...
Thanks
Andi
