Well i was offered $130 + and HD2 and i thought about but i just couldnt give in. Then i was offered a $100 + HD2 + Samsung gravity Touch. It might have been a good deal then but i just love the phone so much, it was like nooo..
So To end it, it was a 2009 Hp Desktop with Wireless keyboard and mouse + HD2 + SAmsung gravity Touch i think its a good deal anyway. and ill just be selling the hd2 and gravity and getting a vibrant again next week!
any comments?

No, you haters, Definately not a moron or stupid. Computer is fairly Fast and has 2gb of ram as well as a 250GB HDD with the 19inch monitor. To get that plus a touch and an HD2 is more than a good Deal. For i am already getting rid of the Gravity touch tomorrow and selling it to a friend for $150 since he was looking for a phone.... I can easily sell the HD2 for about $300 since both phones are 9 out of 10 condition.
$300+$150=$450 - price to get a vibrant. $380-$450..... At the end i got a free pc after all...
BTW: When someone insults or flames others about something they share, i think others just follow along and hate too because they think it makes them cool or something! - Bet you anything to whoever said admin delete this thread it wont happen... Why?? it was posted in general where i can basically share samsung vibrant related chat.

Yep, agreed. Even if the OP had traded the Vibrant because he hated it, which he didn't, he said he loved the phone - but even if he traded because he hated what he received in return still stands as a good indicator of the perceived value of the phone by folks who don't own one and want one.
Just last week my cousin offered to trade me 2 iPhone 3G's for my Vibrant. Not a bad deal at all, in terms of overall value.
I dig the Vibrant now that it's rooted and tweaked with a custom ROM, but to be honest if I were able to get 3G speeds with an iPhone running on T-Mobile I most likely would have taken him up on it. As much as I am now liking this phone I'd also be plenty happy with an iPhone as well, not to mention I could have given the second one to my wife and negated the cost of her upcoming upgrade in December. She's a photographer and I'm a designer, we have macs here at home and the iPhone would play well with our setups.
It is what it is man, preferences are preferences. Just because someone wants an iPhone, or doesn't like a Vibrant, that's not some kind of insult. People have their preferences, yet a lot of folks really seem to take the fact some other folks aren;t digging their phone as some sort of personal jab.
OK, end off topic tirade directed at no one in particular.... - what I'm saying is that my cousins offer and the deal the OP just received tells me people want the Samsung GS phones and I have options should I ever want to trade.
Agree 100% with the watcher (not to mention the moderator as well!!) This certainly concerns the Vibrant and fits just fine in general.

If everyone start sharing what a good deal they got out of their phones the whole forum will make nonsense. And it will be hard to find helpfull things.. Hey Thanks to all of you who supported me and backed me up, But honestly the only thing that truly pissed me off was the fact that ive been around xda for quite some time now, being part of all android forums relating to GSM Devices starting from the g1, so i truly know whats right and wrong, and where things go of course....
Over time i have helped a great number of users, specially the mytouch slide by giving them my gmail to gtalk and help with rooting as it wasnt an easy process... and i decide to ONE time write in the general thread and share my story and all of sudden users with a POST count of Under 10 or 20 start Flaming. No offense to others who have a low post count, just to the ones who were rude and thought they were right...
Anyway this is my last post as i dont want to keep bumping this thread as the thread has been read and seen by others and i have had the comments and opinions i asked for... Once again thanks to you guys and the mods who helped clean up the mess))))

I'm probably nuts but I've been called worse on the Hero Forum...LOL...but here is it. I am not a Sense lover, I am a Hero fan so I would really like to see Android 2.2 running Sense on my phone. So...I am hereby offering a reward/bounty/incentive to the first person that can post a fully functioning ROM to the forum that is Android 2.2 with Sense. I am offering $100. I know it's not a ton for what you will be doing but I'm sure that its more than most of you make on here. This is a very serious offer, take me up on it and find out. If anyone else comes along and wants to add to the pot, we will just all make a pact to fulfill the bounty when the product is delivered. Maybe together we can make this worth someone's while...
The rules:
It has to be fully functioning. That means everything, phone, camera, camcorder, mms, sms, gps, etc...and Sense (I think there is a new Sense that goes with Android 2.2) has to work too, all of it. I won't be the judge of this, I'll get someone who is more qualified than me, hopefully I can persuade someone like impaler747 to be the judge.
Needs to be done by mid Jan. as I get a new phone in Feb.
I'm not rich but I think this is worth it and with the dropoff of Hero devs lately I think someone needs to step up and put out some incentive. Any takers?
PS-If this is offensive to anyone, sorry, just trying to help and I am not smart enough to learn 'devving' and too old to start anyways. LOL

I'm no dev, I really appreciate all the FREE hard work they have done to make my phone amazing, and I try to help other members when i can, but check how many legitimate threads i've started with dumbass questions, oh that's right, i haven't made a legitimate thread, and i've been here since early '09.

well, i guess i don't really know, but logic is not on your side. for instance, you claim to want to donate to a dev, yet you have no donation stars next to your name on xda? also, why give up a hundred a few weeks before an upgrade? also, why not donate to the existing devs for the existing rom which works in almost every way... i am sure all the devs who have been working on sense 2.2 for MONTHS are going to go really really fast now just for you good luck. i will no longer respond.

Youre right, I havent donated to anyone here before, I did donate to cyanogen for cm6. Im glad you wont respond anymore, youve proven your point so clearly up to this point on something that had absolutely nothing to do with you and clearly didnt interest you anyways so peddle your crap elsewhere thanks. Welcome, thank everyone for taking the time to read this. I have been a busy body in the shadows trying to do something for a member of our Community. Let me start from the beginning. I'm sure everyone here is familiar with user/developer PTFDMedic. He created the Midnight roms, among other things. He's a well respected member of the community, a friend to me, and one of the strongest persons I have ever met in my life. He is also very open and honest about his personal experiences in life be it the bad, the good, and the personal. He blogs @ a site I suggest everyone read over once. www.lostandtired.com. He works his butt off taking care of his family, his wife and three autistic boys (which troubles me to even type it like that because he takes care of his THREE BOYS, the fact that they have autism does NOT define them).
Now the point of this, this all started the same day I wrote my rant about not getting my Nexus, on the way home I was thinking about reading that he sold his Epic to pay for car repairs on his van to keep bringing his children to speech therapy. I felt kinda bad that I have an Epic, brand new, and now I'm about to be holding onto the Nexus S. I'm by no means rich I just chose to pass on other things and save to get the phones I want. But still all in all at the end of the day I have two different phones, both top of the line, and here is Rob doing all the things necessary to raise his family and (if you don't develop for the phone/theme anything) it's hard to understand but when you are working on the code and have to pay close attention to what you are doing, you kind of loose sight of all the things that were nagging at your on the back of your mind. I serious mistake in the code and you can potential brick your device. So even though developing can create it's own headaches, and oh yes it can, it also helps you escape all the other things on your mind. That being said, I felt really bad that Rob was loosing his outlet, both to develop and his connection with you guys here on the forums.
Soon as I got home I set up an account and stuck in a mere $50 and got determined to translate that $50 into a new phone. I contacted my friends @ ACS and told them what was up. Withing no time we had $125.00 in there. Next the Bonsai team (can't thank you guys enough) joined in and we got $250.00 in the account. This ofcourse is the going rate on an Epic on ebay. While I was doing all of this (completely behind the scenes it was going to be a total suprise when I purchased the phone from Ebay, checked it to make sure it worked out all right, then mailed it to Rob who was clueless all along) I start noticing a few posts where he says that he really wants the Nexus S, he would love to develop on a device that doesn't have TW.
We finally got the cash together to buy the Epic and we all had us another conversation, why stop here. Why not push the envelope and let this man have his dream, and get a Nexus S. That would put us from 100% to 50% of the phones cost and two different development teams have put in a large amount so why not ask the users. They can and deserve to be a part of this anyway. Perfect, but it ruined one thing. Rob would def find out about this, going public. So I've notified Rob about the current. $250, the whole ordeal that we have been creating, everything. And then asked the mods permission for this post, which was granted first thing this morning. Now we are here and you're caught up with me. Have a heart, and give back to a man who has given to you!
By all means only donate if it is within your means!!! Rob was totally against us spending our money on him so Rob, if your reading this, your not allowed to post in protest!!!
All previous donations have gone to my account, that money is forwarded, and now the donate button here goes directly to Rob! He'll have to keep me posted on progress from here on.

$10 sent... I moved on from the Epic to Nexus S4G but Midnight ROM made my Epic experience a lot more enjoyable and the developer is class.

I'm not sure how busy he is with his other projects now that he's joined the cm team, but we could at least get salvagemod or some other ports perhaps. I for one want salvagemod even if it is just gingerbread. I've tried to port it but well, I'm just not him...I've emailed him but I think he's interested even though I have not heard a response yet. And salvagemod does have it's own nightlies. Who knows, he could bring more then just salvagemod, but I'm not going to jump the gun and start expecting things right away.

Well like I said I still have yet to hear anything back from him. What would you say if someone offered you a free phone? And if we do get him a shift no one can expect anything. We can hope for the best I guess. I will even help port/compile salvagemod if need be and contribute to the projects as much as possible. I think that is what it really comes down to. Who wants salvagemod and is will to help contribute to it by at least providing logcats? I mean seriously all I ever see in the forums is people complaining but never offering anything usefull. If I'm the only person then I doubt he will want to do it...

Yeah i'd take a free phone if people were willing to donate to me. Salvagemod does seem good and i'm glad your willing to help, I've always appreciated what you've done with the shift and if i knew anything about logcats and knew how to provide them i would if anyone needed them but my computer skills are very little in the coding department as i got kicked out of college but i'm all for him coming over and trying to help out as much as possible

Good tip ...for logcat, go to command prompt and type "ADB Logcat" and viloa

lol now all i have to do is set up ADB on my computer. New HDD and never set up anything for android
So I just want to share an opinion, don't take this as hating because I'm not I respect lithid like I do any developer.
That being said, I don't see the point.
First off your main argument is that he COULD bring SalavageMod.
Why do we need it in the first place? It would just clutterup our threads with another AOSP ROM. We have plenty (Cyclonic,CM7,Evervolv,Shiftdeck). As far as I know it is not our goal to be cluttering up the shift forums with countless ROMS that are basically the same with different themes
Second of all is the obvious point other people have made. Does he even WANT to. Yes, he would be a worthy person to donate a device to just based on previous expierence from him, but if he isn't as interested as other people what's the point. You just made the assumption that he would, you even said he has not replied, so until then I think this should be put on hold.

Salvage mod is not your standard cm7 alike... Get a clue before you waste space on a thread with dumb uninformed comments... But that's right you call yourself a dev so why don't you compile salvage mod or any rom for that matter? Because you can't... Just my two cents...

Why did you have to be such a jerkoff??? He was just stating his opinion and as such, you would THINK that people would act like a MAN instead of a little child. Your abrasive comment was not needed nor was it called for. Now I'm starting to see why people are leaving XDA, people don't know how to act correctly.

Yes he was stating his opinion just like drob was. He is right about salvagemod, but that is no reason to try to discredit salvagemod or say that we don't need more roms. What's wrong with more roms? It's a aosp rom that has very little cm stuff in it. It doesn't matter now anyways, we will not be getting salvagemod and I am not at liberty to say why. I can say people attacking is not helping devs stick to xda.

Okay, I was able to file a complaint through a channel that not only has allowed me to order the Nexus 6 I wanted, but also have it sent via free overnight FedEx to be delivered tomorrow... yes, on Saturday.
I was going to post how I did this, but felt it [maybe] unfair to the people who made it happen for me.
So, this leads me to the question: Of all of the people trying to buy this phone, who would truly benefit this community if they were able to get one? Also, who would keep this information confidential and not repost it for the whole community?
Now, I'm not saying this is guaranteed, but from the time I initiated contact, I had a call back within a few short hours, and was able to place an order over the phone.
Are there any developers who have been unable to get it, who would undoubtedly do some serious good by having one?
I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I have zero developing skills, and this is just a tiny way for me to do something for someone deserving since I've benefited so much from this community.
I see what you are trying to do OP.... Might be best to just send a pm next time

I cannot afford to buy a 2nd one for someone, but am willing to share how I got mine. I know franco is direct and upfront with his words. I don't want to offend him by offering him this info. But if anyone who knows him wants to let him know to contact me, I couldn't think of many more deserving than him.

I'd contact CarbonROM or Slim. Last I heard Carbon said they'd only support n6 if they won a phone as no maintainers had money for it.

He does not have a phone to give away
He just knows a way for people to get hold of one quickly, you still have to buy it. He is not selling his own phone.
This isnt even really ground breaking news, all he did was complain up the chain of command and like most execs they dont want to deal with it so in order to make the client happy they just take care of them. You mention they told you not to post online, yet you are doing just that. I honestly dont see the point of this thread, why dont you PM a few of the top developers and see if someone is interested. Its like you are playing a game and somehow you have to be entitled to get your super top secret information.
If it were up to me i would contact someone from Slim team, CM team, PA team, and OMNI team as those 4 are actually doing real development and dont just kang/piece together bits and pieces from every other rom out there.

Yes, you're correct. I was overly excited and hadn't had time to think about it. And then.... I thought about it and how awesome this person on a small team was to me, and decided against it.
I have no problem with this thread being closed. It's obvious aside from the few who "got" what I was trying to do and posted suggestions, the rest have just whined or bickered on here.
