Hello all,
I decided to take the plunge and install Gingerbread on my HTC using instructions in this weeks MicroMart. Having completed all of the steps my HTC is now stuck on a boot screen where the screen is black but HTC appears in green.
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a fix?
The steps I took to install Gingerbread were as follows:
Installed HSPL (2.08)
Installed Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
Installed MAGLDR 1.1.3
Installed Clockworkmod Recovery
Installed Gingerbread 2.3
You most likely flashed the wrong size CWM that you need. Is there a link to what ROM you downloaded and what recovery size? You should be flashing the 150M for 2.3 AOSP ROM's.
Actually, heres a nice stable gingerbread ROM you can use.
http://www.multiupload.com/WD83QRSA99
Download that and and flash this Clockworkmod file.
http://www.multiupload.com/LVBWUM9L28
That should work pretty good.
Ah, I think I downloaded a 400 one, will go and investigate.
Thank you for the tip
Check out post #3. You can use them two files. They'll work perfectly and leave you with about 240MB left of internal storage. If you want more partition your SD card with an Ext3 partition and it'll use Apps2SD.
Hi, Andriod now loads but it doesn't recognise my T-Mobile Sim.
Any ideas?

I have installed [DAF] BOYPPC-SHIFPDA GINGER V11 on to my HTC HD2, and it is great, but as the latest release is [DAF] BOYPPC-SHIFPDA GINGER V16, do I have to reinstall the whole thing, or is there a way of just upgrading?
Thanks for any help.
I use to use DAF as its connect to computer and install, but CWM is alot easier, I mean you can install it without a computer.
To install CWM is just like DAF, connect it to computer and you have do all the basic procedures like you do on DAF.
After that you go into them option list (holding power button USB flasher etc), forgot name think ita MAGDLR, then go to AD Recovery, it boots to CWM (ClockWorkMod). Oh also you have to first format your sd card and have the .zip file of the ROM first in you SD card, after that just go to flash rom sd card in the CWM by choose .zip file to flash in sd card. After that go to ROM press Call or Green button and let the magic begin .
When an update comes (I think, I just started using CWM yesterday over DAF), you just have to do the same procedure like how you flashed the ROM with SD card (the files should be called update.zip), but the difference is that you don't choose the zip to flash, there should be another option of saying flash update.zip, that is all
OMG! Took me ages to write this on my phone haha

Hi,
Check my sig....GUIDE 2.
Should be everything you need.
Your guide was very helpful thanks. I sort of knew what I was doing, coming from an IT background, but as with all new stuff, when it is something new, it is a bit daunting.
I got the HSPL bit and the Radio ROM, I got the MAGLDR part and also installed CWM, but I don't think I installed the right CWM, as per your guide, I should have used the 'Recovery for Ginger V11', when I installed V11, instead I was getting confused with Recovery Files that had the 'Copy To SD Card' directory, the more I searched, the more it got confusing, in the end I have a 1GB partition on my SD card, which I think is not doing anything.
Anyway.....
The version of CWM 'v3.0.0.5' I have on my phone, when started, comes up with 'E:Can't find misc' and if I try to do a backup, it finds the SD card, backs up root, the fails to backup recovery, 'E:failed to find "recovery" partition to mount at "/recovery" Can't mount /recovery'. I think I have the old version/old way, so..................... Can I just install 'Recovery for Ginger V16' and if so, will I lose my Android install?
Then, where does the update.zip come from? Do I rename '[CWR] BOYPPC-SHIFPDA GINGER V16 (14.Apr).zip' to Update.zip?
I really do appreciate your help with this, and your patience........... Thank you...........

Ok,let's start again.
I think you installed CWM correctly, but the net result will be:
"Note when you flash MAGLDR to your HD2 it wipes your current ROM from the HD2. So you will have a ROM less HD2 until you either flash a Android ROM or WP7 to your HD2. You can also reflash a Windows Mobile stock or custom ROM but this will remove MAGLDR from your HD2. "(as stated in the guide)
So what you need to do next is download :
Recovery for Ginger V16 and [Rom] Ginger_Sense.s_V16 \ link2.Keep recovery on desktop, put ROM zip on root of SD card.
Restart phone, hold power button on when it vibrates.
When you're in MAGLDR go to 5 USB flasher, press left phone button.when it says USB...plug in USB cable. When it says USB...USB press DAF in recovery folder on your desktop.Follow instructions.
Restart phone, hold power button on when it vibrates.
When you're in MAGLDR go to 8 AD recovery.Take out cable.press left phone button.go to wipe data, cache partition and dalvik(in advanced).Wipe each one in turn.To go back use right power button.
Then go to install from zip.navigate to [Rom] Ginger_Sense.s_V16 .Install then reboot.
For future updates you can use same method, but use update from zip...
Hope that covers it.
Just wanted to say thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated. I haven't done it yet due to Laptop issues, but once that is fixed, I shall be playing.......
Sometimes there is so much information on here you can easily get lost and a bit confused.
Thanks.....

I've read the other posts regarding GO GoGO freezes but they didnt pertain to my issue,so...
I managed to successfully install following ROM: CyanogenMod-7-04012011-NIGHTLY-LEO
it works relatively well but for my particular HD2, it came with no apps market and google maps and other essential apps had been removed or were just missing altogether.
Anyway i want to flash a new Rom, and I have all the necessary items:
-installed radio 2.15.50.14
-MGLDR V1.13
-HSPL 2.08/cotullaHSPL
-Current CWM recovery 3.0.2.5
(i found this ROM and downloaded it)
[3.May][cLK/MAGLDR] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10]
i have partitioned my SD correctly (FAT 32) and when i enter bootloader and scroll down to "ad recovery" it proceeds to the "GoGoGo" screen and freezes here, never allowing me any further until i remove the battery 10,15,20 minutes later
I appreciate any helpful tips or suggestions....thx forum friends
Hi, sounds like you need to reflash your clockworkmod recovery. For this particular rom be sure to use a 150 mb system partition. Really good rom by the way. This and HyperDroid GBX V12 are the two best roms I have tried. Good luck..
Hi guys.
This is my first shot at installing a custom ROM (MIUI 1.7.8) on an HD2. I've done a couple of native Android devices with great success but this one is killing me.
I have followed the instructions listed on the english MIUI page and successfully installed HSPL3, magldr, and Clockwork recovery... but when I go to boot the phone is hits the HTC logo and won't go any further and when I tried installing 1.7.1 it would go the HTC logo and then reboot over and over again.
Obviously I have done something wrong so any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanx in advance!
Which MIUI rom are you using? And also most NAND installs take a little bit on the HTC logo at first and it feels like it isn't working but it actually is
Make sure partition size is correct when you flash cwm in
flash.cfg
The rom I am using I found here: forums.miui.us/content.php?12-ROM-Downloads
It sat on HTC for over 30 minutes so I'm pretty sure its stuck lol
As far as partioning... where excatly does that take place in the process or where do I change it at?
The instructions I used for the install are these:en.miui.com/a-52.html
Before you flash the rom you must do cwm partition.miui roms usually use 5-150-5 partition. It you are unfamiliar to this there is a tool by ksubedi at the first page of nand development

first you need to make sure you are using 150 MB recovery it can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
and I suggest you to download the MIUI 1.7.8 from miuiandroid.com and then download the language pack that comes with the rom. ( this is the version i am using now 1.7.8 beta )
and it will make a couple of restarts at the first boot it's normal and will take some time to first boot, so be patient.
Thanx!
I will give these a whirl when I get home and let you know what turns up.
OK!
I did a task29 wipe and reloaded MAGLDR with the correct partitions and it fired right up.
Thanks for all of the help!

I've got this thing when trying to get a new Sense 3.0 rom. I've been looking for a good one and found that one. (Please point me to your favorite sense 3.0 ROM)
When installing, I've had some trouble with partitioning SDCard, installing a ROM (status 0 error, aborting installation)
I'm using 2.08 HSPL, MagLDR 1.13, CWM v4 & Radio 2.15.50.XX
I'm able to install a ROM (tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649)
But when I reboot after installing (in CWM), when it should load, it doesn't go past the Android loading screen
So It boots, MagLDR shows up, no errors, gogogo thingy, then it freezes (splash screen I guess)
I've been looking for some solutions but haven't found anything that works.
Tried other radios, CWM versions, ROMs...
I've got no idea what to do
Any help is appreciated.

Tmous or regular? If regular, do you have the 1gb ext partition set? Also, that rom will take a while to set up since it requires a lot of stuff to be unpacked onto the SD card.
I've not used that rom but I know some of the big ones take tens of minutes for first boot

I used the EU version. I did indeed (try to) partition the SDCard but when clicking advanced, partition, 1024, 0, It told me to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and when after like half an hour, I pulled out the SDCard, it's 1GB smaller in Windows so it should be done.
Installing works fine.
I'll try starting the ROM again & look if it works after a couple of hours.
Doesn't work. It ran all night, didn't get past the Android screen.
I ran into a similar problem. I downloaded a file from the forum called Wipe_it_CWR.zip before installing the new rom and that resolved my issue
You mean just installing it via CWM before the ROM right? Nothing else special?
Trying it now. So far, it seems like it won't work.
EDIT: Nope sorry. It's really weird.
I have successfully installed TyphooN_CM7_v2.9.2-cLK about 8 motnhs ago & been using it but fancied a change.
I am lucky enough to have two HD2's so decide to try installing another nand on the other phone.
I tried TyphooN_CM7_v3.7.0-cLK & DFT_LEO_NAND_Android both using Task 29 & using CWM with CM7 & the USB flasher (as per instructions on the page) for the DFT one. No luck with either they both install but I get an error "Process system is not repsonding" which won't go away with the DFT one & its just keeps booting into Magldr with the CM7. I have installed NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.9_NAND_(Android-2.3.5) which is working & installed fine but just can't get either of the other two to work.
I wanted the CM7 to upgrade the current Typhoon I have a wanted a Desire nand on the other phone as a change.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Help much appreciated
Thanks
Edit:
Following this thread for the CM7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
& this for the Desire nand http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
Till now you are used nand android ... so you have the important things (HSPL2.08, radio 2.15.50.14, MAGLDR).
And you installed NexusHD2-Gingerbread ... this means that everything is OK.
I think you can try to download the other things for CM 3.7.0 again.
I've had problems with installing when the .zip is corrupted or something ...
With the typhoon version I would check to make sure that you downloaded the magldr version and not the clk version as it is the magldr that you keep booting into. If you try installing clk to a magldr loader it will not load and just go into magldr loader. With dft one it is probably a bad download or perhaps it is that the rom is an older rom.
There is a lot solutions/problems. Which rom u try to install? Magdlr or clk?

Same here
I have exactly the same problem, the only zip NANDs i can install are NexusHD2-Gingerbread. All others install ok but when i reboot it states "Kernal Open Failed" If i install other NANDS via USB flasher they seem to install fine, but then i no longer have AD Recovery Clockworkmod, which is very useful for backups. I appreciate that this is an additional statement but i also have the issue of my phone rebooting 6-10 times a day, hence wanting to change my NAND for testing. I have today however made a complete re-install and using a different SD card, still can't load other ZIP NAND's though.
