I have some questions about xRecovery and SuperOneClick
1.Can I root my phone(E15i) with SuperOneClick 1.7 from xda forum?
2.Can I restore all my apps, data, settings, phonebook etc. with the function of backup and restore in xRecovery?
3.After I unroot my phone, will the warranty become normal?
Can anyone help me?Thanks.
I am a student from Hong Kong and my English may not be quite good.Sorry for that.

Questions 1 and 2 yes. As for warranty any modifications such as rooting void it. As for when you unroot it use seus to flash stock Rom you SHOULD be ok as it will remove all traces of root and xrecovery etc etc

Ok so I updated to 2.2.1 OTA and rooted it with cyaogenmod 5.0.8. How do i unroot it now? I read somewhere you can download the stock 2.2.1 and use ROM manager off the sd card. Where can i download the stock 2.2.1 and also is there another way to unroot?
PLEASE HELP!!!
THANKS!
1. Why do you want to unroot?
2. What's your fastboot info?
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
if you need help
you'll have to post your phones info without that we cant help you or will misguide you
Rooting = getting SU binaries on your device
Runing CM = running custom rom and is actually misleading to call it rooting.
What you want is to return to stock rom or change to an updated custom rom, and not "unroot" per say...
Just to set the terminology :0)
Hi, i have Xperia play
about phone:
Model Number: R800i
Android Version: 2.3.3
Build Number: 3.0.1.A.0.145
my question is what root will i use?
and bootloader, give link please.
You will have to flash back to 2.3.2 then root with gingerbreak...
But here is a whole thread on how to unlock bootloader/root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043630
Here is how you unlock your boot loader - http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
and how to root without unlocking the bootloader - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116090
ohhh, so i can root and UNLOCK my boot loader?
and how can i flash back to 2.3.2?
EDIT: what is the difference of unlocking bootloader and rooting WITHOUT unlocking bootloader?

An unlocked bootloader allows you to issue fastboot commands to your device. It has nothing to do with root. Although it can be used to attain root easer

Right download the .184 firmware here:
http://www.multiupload.com/MDS10FFGTT
And download Flashtool from here:
http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
Unpack the .tft file and place it in the firmware folder of the extracted flashtool application.
Install the gordons gate flash drivers that come with flashtool.
run flashtool, click on flash, choose the .184 .tft file. And follow the onscreen instructions.
thanks man,
and this is what i do next ? -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116090

Since you are rooted. Get Adfree from the market. It will block adverts on free games, browsing the web etc. Very useful app to have.
If you uninstall apps you cannot use ota again to upgrade to 2.3.4 when its out and still keep root (since all the bloatware needs to be still on the phone for an ota update to work)
I personally freeze the apps i dont want. It stops them from running and frees up ram (making the phone bootup faster, better battery life, all the perks that uninstalling them would give you) but it will not free up internal memory since you are not unistalling the app its still on your phone it just will not run while it is frozen. You would then just unfreeze them to use ota.
If you uninstall them you will either have to reflash again (to get back what you uninstalled, it will also wipe your phone clean again) then root again to use ota and keep root.
Anyways i use Bloat Freezer (which you have to pay for only £0.60 tho) or if you just want to uninstall apps the best to use would be Titanium Backup the free version allows you to uninstall apps. You can also use Titanium Backup to freeze apps but thats only in the paid version.
See here for the thread on what is safe to uninstall or freeze.
i flashed R800i 4.0.A.2.368 UK (newest firmware with xLoud etc) using flashtool and simply used flashtool to root it aswell, worked a treat

hello to everyone and I apologize in advance if someone has already asked this question.
I have a gt p5110 and wanted to do the root but without losing the warranty so I ask is a chance to do the un-root and restore everything exactly as before?
how do I backup the rom, kernel, ... or what is it for?
ics should install the CyanogenMod 4.0.4 or what? also these versions you can go back to the warranty?
P.S. I need because I do not find the wifi projector unlike the android phone
thank you very much
You can unroot anytime you want by flashing via Odin the stock firmware. You can download the stock firmware from the developers section, from the given thread. As ford the counter, there is an APK. I think that resets the counter and all is good.

Hi,
Look HERE
Your best plan would be to install a recovery, backup your system, and then return it to an "Official" rooted system with the link I gave you.
On the thread there is a link for a stock recovery to return you to stock and be able to receive updates.
The thread I gave you ,the [OP] is constantly updating his ROMS,so you will not lose out on updates anyway.

Hi,
It depends whether the stock ROM contains stock recovery.
I doubt it.
You will probably have to find a stock recovery somewhere.

t-mobile
galaxy s4
sgh-m919
android 4.3
baseband m919uvuemk2
kernel version 3.4.0-2015522
have spent the last day boning up on rooting my t-mobile s4 4.3 and still feel that i have too many questions, and i consider myself pretty tech savvy, at least in terms of pcs! anyway i'm someone could help me with the following questions:
1. can i take a snapshot of my current (stock) setup before i root, which i would be able to reload in the event i find rooting is not for me? i'm talking about a backup, image or snapshot of everything that's now on my phone which i can restore if needed, returning my phone to it's exact state before i rooted?
2. when i root my phone will it delete such things as my contacts, photos, apps, etc? or will that only happen when a custom rom is installed after rooting? if the latter, i'm guessing i could do a full phone backup after rooting using something like titanium, and the flash a custom rom which would give me a clean os, free of all samsung's and t-mobile's bloatware? and if i decided a rooted phone wasn't for me, i could restore the backup of my original phone using titanium?
3. when i root my phone and install a clean, bloat-free os, what sort of thing will no longer be possible in terms of my provider's (tmobile) services? for example i guess i would no longer get automatic ota's? how about tmobile notifications or the like? will tmobile be able to access my rooted phone as they are able to do now? and if not are there any disadvantages to this? i'm guessing there are more advantages to this.
4. so once my phoned is rooted and a new rom flashed, is it a relatively easy process to reload all of my contacts, photos and settings?
5. and, finally, someone recommended that i use the rotting steps outlined at galaxys4root.com, do you agree?
thanks very much in advance, what a tremendous community!

odd, thought that's where i posted....
anyway
> i went ahead and rooted using the "[SGH-M919] CF-Auto-Root" method provided by chainfire and it worked without a hitch, was a very quick and simple process.
> confirmed with root checker, all is good.
> also, fwiw, knox was tripped and now reads 0x1, but my warranty expires in a couple of months or so, so no big deal to me (was never too concerned about the warranty anyway).
> device status now shows custom
> downloaded titanium and backed up apps and system data - was hoping for an option that allowed me to take an image of my phone that could be restored if needed. perhaps i can do that with cwm when i back up the rom?
> now i'm going to try and flash some custom roms, should be fun.

please tell me best method to root my phone.i dont want to loose warranty.please help.thanks.
i found stock room. I need to know best method for rooting so that i can unroot if need to.Thanks.
If you root you'll trip Knox and potentially lose your warranty. There's no way around it.
To unroot just flash a stock rom (that you just found) with Odin

This is the same method I used on the W8 model and it worked perfectly. When I decided to unroot, I downloaded the firmware from sammobile and flashed via odin, and that also worked flawlessly.
