And it stucks at Added / Removed several, several times! So I can't finish the update!
Please help me, I can't afford a new phone and I'll be grateful if someone could help me. PLEASE!

try downloading another rom and flash it....i sometimes cant flash some rom from unknown reasons, while some other flashes normaly

I don't think this is a ROM problem...
My phone is recognised for a few seconds then not recognised...
Now it "works", I mean I saw recovery mode and I said YAYYYYY! atleast I can turn my phone on... Now I think I will not try anymore to flash a rom with Odin.

What Odin settings did you use?
Is the ROM you're flashing include a dbdata.rfs?
(check the tar file with winrar etc)

No, no dbdata files in the winrar file...
Now I rebooted my phone and wtf, I can't access the main screen... .-.

If you can get into download mode, but Odin not recognizing, try some other pc.

Ima try as soon as possible, dude.

try different usb port in the pc.
make sure you are connected directly to the pc (not via usb hub).
try a different usb cable.
I've had the issue with usb hubs and bad cables before.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

Use another usb port and make sure kies is closed when using odin. Try flash kernel and cook a rom and mount usb storage in cwm and transfer it from your computer and flash it

please try another PC to connect and you will finish it .
some days ago ,I have same problem like you met . Then ,the problem was finished after connected to another PC
FYR

Often it's enough to reboot your computer.

Drivers installed?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

Update Kies on your PC so that the drivers are updated, then try the procedure again. One guy had the same problem of ODIN giving connection problems and he solved it by updating Kies, which updated the drivers..

clean the phone's usb port and cable and computers usb port then try again

I also tried with Kies, it downloads the update but when it comes to switch to Download mode my PC doesn't recognise the phone and disconnects it, blocking the update.

Does not want to connect to kies, no idea why, the drivers seem to install.
Can't root it
Uninstall your current kies and then download lies from Samsung website and reinstall. This fixed the issue for me.
hmmm... I installed the latest version dowloaded from sammy site,
are you saying i need to re-install the software a few times and everything will be ok...?
Golly gosh.
Yeah also just tried that, it just gives me "Cennecting..." top left corner of Kies, and then it just stops trying to connect, hmm, also tried Win 7 x84 through virtual desktop. hmm
Double check that usb debugging is disabled. I had the same issue and this sorted it.

Yes I did, it just doesn't want to connect, and I have the debug mode on, since I'm trying to connect the phone while in download mode.

And that's it.

are you sure youre using a USB DATA cable? i had an issue like this for a month, found out my cable wasnt good, make sure its a data cable, and that its working, can you get mass storage working? if you cant the cable is probably bad
I got mine to work after getting it from phones4u I simply had to unmount, remount the sd card and format it. Since then everything seems golden.
Hope this helps
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH help I'm having exactly the same problem, can anyone help?!
I solved the problem by unistalling samsung driver's from windows device manager..
Open kies , and connect the phone again, stop the phone from installing drivers automatically. Open tools on kies and install drivers manually
Should now work.. Make sure usb debugging is off all the way.

How do you stop the phone from installing drivers automatically?? Thanks
This is driving me up the wall. I've tried installing the drivers manually using Kies but although my phone appears as a connected device in Kies I can't view anything that's on the phone and I can't transfer files onto it!! Any ideas anyone?!

As the little pop up comes up on the notification area of your taskbar.. click on the notification and there is a install manually option. or something similar offering to stop the automatic install(Sorry, I can't remember exactly what it says); but that option exists
You uninstalled the Samsung drivers from device manager?

I found that mine wouldn't connect even though I had the latest Kies and had installed the drivers through Kies.
I found that simply by unlocking the screen on the device is began the connection process correctly and would connect fine. If the phone is slept with the screen off it won't connect for me.

ODIN Problem

I really want to root my galaxy s and start trying out custom roms but odin doesnt recognise my phone when in download mode. When i reboot the phone a com port turns yellow straight away. Ive tried uninstalling the usb drivers and kies but its still not working.
Odin requires Kies or USB drivers and debugging to be off .
Com port yellow means Odin has found the phone .
Are you following the instructions that are basically load Odin load the firmware into Odin as Instructed .
Put phone to download mode then connect the Samsung USB cable .
jje
Yes I have the drivers and kies and tried with debugging on and off and I am also correctly following the very simple instructions.

Try another USB port
Tell us exactly which steps you are following and we can tell you if there are any mistakes.
BTW Are you using the original usb cable?. I bought a cheap usb cable in ebay and it is good for charging or transferring files, but it never worked with odin.
Ive tried 2 different computers. Im following the instructions for the cf root. i downloaded the file for JVO, extracted it and put the .tar file in the PDA section of ODIN. I then turned off my phone and put in into download mode then connected the phone to the pc with the cable that came with the phone. In odin nothing happnes. When i reboot the phone, a com port turns yellow. Ive tried connecting the phone first then getting the .tar file and still not working.
Before flashing the kernel you have to flash stock JVO rom with the pit, pda, modem and csc files.

How do I do that?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
This is a good beginning: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
The cf root guide i used didnt say that i had to flash stock JVO rom
The path you should follow:
1) Install Kies. Full
2) Check if Kies sees ur phone normally. If yes goto:3
3) Open odin
4) Kill ALL kies processes.
4) put your phone into download mode
5) Connect USB. Odin should react. If not, try other USB/cable
6) Profit
Have Really done that all?
try install Kies last version
and odin 1.82 for Galaxy S (( GT-I9000 ))
and will be fix, ansallh
Kies recognises my phone and i have followed the other steps but odin still doesnt recognise my phone in download mode.

Rooting GT-I9000 2.3.5 XXJVS - odin doesn't detect phone in

I'm using this method to root my device: http://androidflip.com/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s-running-on-xxjvs-android-2-3-5-gingerbread/
When I connect the device to USB in normal mode, Odin detects the device. But when I enter the download mode (voice down+menu button+boot button and yellow android appears) then the Odin won't detect my device.
Debugging is enabled under settings.
I have tried every imaginable scenario and rebooted my device total of 20 times but still the same problem.

Generally when that happens, I try another port.

USB Device Not Recognized in Download Mode [SOLVED]

so yeah.. im on Lite-ing rom 2.6.. i came from a 2.3.6 rom, used odin to flash, everything went fine. i went to update to liteing rom 2.7 and went into download mode, but when i go into download mode and connect my phone, i get USB Device Not Recognized .. it doesnt happen when my phone is turned on and connected, everything works fine, no issues. its only when im in Download Mode that i have this problem..
SOOO trying to be smart i plugged my phone in, it connected COM3 appeared, i rebooted phone into download mode, and flashed my rom.. it goes half way and then that USB Device Not Recognized popped up.. so now my phone is bricked i swear.. i cant even get into Recovery Mode, and Download Mode is useless..
what ive tried so far:
3 different computers (all running W7)
all USB ports on all computers
Installing, Uninstalling, Wiping all Kies data, lots of restarting
tried 4 USB cables
ive been at this for HOURS.. someone please help me.. im so far in over my head here and im afraid my phone is gonna be gone for good

i did it omg.. well i hope someone in the future can look at this and maybe get some help.. heres what i did:

but aww it went to remove immediately ..
so i unplug micro end from phone, pop battery and re enter Download Mode, then plug in again,

Hi all
For anyone looking at this in future there is something else you may have to keep in mind (assuming you are using windows 7) when trying to connect the Samsung device to the computer. If it shows "USB Device Not recognized" then you need to go into device manager and expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and right click on the device called "Unknown Device" and then uninstall. This will force windows to attempt to install the Samsung drivers again and hopefully increase your odds of getting it to work.
if you combine this technique with all the others described above and in previous posts and threads then you are almost definitely going to be able to fix your problem with the Odin connection issue.
Good luck
best regards

is my phone dead?
I recently installed CM12.1 on my i605 and it was working great for the last couple weeks. This morning I woke up to the "Samsung Galaxy note II" screen. I tried rebooting it but it stops at the opening screen. Booting into recovery did not work at all and booting into Download mode works, but when I connected it to my computer to try to use ODIN, the device couldn't be found. I also tried installing samsung drivers, but nothing I've done has worked to help my PC recognize my note 2. If anyone knows of any tricks to get into the phone and flash a new ROM, please help!

[BRICKED/URGENT] Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900

My mother has this model which long ago I rooted for her and installed a custom ROM for better battery, recently the phone turned off and never turned on again, at first I thought of the battery which was indeed completely uncharged but after that the phone wouldn't even turn on or charge (had to charge with a battery charger) it doesn't enter recovery mode or ever show the samsung logo when turning it on, but it can enter Download Mode, I have tried repartitioning since I have the .pit file with the newest Lollipop ROM but it gets stuck in initialized in ODIN, I don't know it there's any way in which I could solve this problem since she cannot go to Samsung and needs urgently her phone and I want to be able to fix it, I have all the drivers installed, the newest version of ODIN downloaded and everything and I know it is not dead from the motherboard since it can enter into Download Mode, has someone been able to fix this?
You are using a stock rom in Odin? Tried using the original Samsung USB cable? Try different cables and USB ports. Also try a different computer and operating system.
The fact that the phone goes to Odin mode is a good sign.
Odin mode is a good sign. Change the cable, the USB port and check the drivers. Also try a different computer, if you can.
Still nothing
Yeah I have practically changed form all the USBs in my laptop, from 3.0 to 2.0, also from my PC. I have tried the microSD card fix that I read from the N900T forum using a N900 unbrick.img file and everything but it still gets stuck on the initialization phase of ODIN, I have tried with ODIN 1.85, 3.07, 3.09, 3.10.7, with three 3.0 USB cables and 2 2.0 cables. I'm using the last stock N900 5.0 firmware that showed up, don't know what else to do, and there's no Samsung repair center here so thats not an option :C. Does somebody knows what else I can do? Because the computer recognizes the device as a normal Download Mode Samsung phone and ODIN shows it properly and everything, it just doesn't make like the right serial connection with the computer.
Edit: I have also discovered that when I disconnect the phone after minutes of staying in initialization it shows in ODIN that it failed but 3 lines of code appear:
Get PIT for mapping..
There is no PIT partition.
All threads removed
Don't know if it means something.
Seems like the NAND shat itself if it can't repartition.

Yep, have count exactly 14 USB ports to now, and Kies gets stuck at 0% :C
Progress?
Ok, after fiddling around with ODIN for almost 5 hours I decided to give Heimdall and its cousin JOdin3 a try. I deleted all the Samsung drivers even the logs with USBdeview and replaced the generic serial driver with the WinUSB one in order to use heimdall without the usblib error -12.
Everything fine with it and I have advanced in the way that it now kinda interacts with the phone via serial and not just initializes, but its receiveing an error which I cannot find a way to solve: https://goo.gl/FJJWJT
Anyone knows something about it?, I won't stop till I fix this hahaha
